Islamic terrorism, as everyone knows, has nothing to do with Islam. Not a thing. Apart from the name, the motivation and the entire purpose of the exercise. Still our governments and ‘leading experts’ insist that the two are completely unrelated.
Australian Federal Police Commissioner Krissy Barrett (above) has faced criticism for saying the Bondi Beach terrorist attack was “not motivated by religion”.
Commissioner Barrett had stated in the aftermath of the December 14 attack that the alleged terrorists were “inspired by Islamic State”.
“These are the alleged actions of those have aligned themselves to a terrorist organisation – not a religion,” she said.
The ‘terrorist organization’ being the Islamic State whose purpose is to make a state completely ruled by Islam. Hence the name.
Terrorism is a tactic. It’s not an identity. Saying that Muslim terrorists are terrorists not Muslims makes no sense. People don’t go ahead and gun down a 10-year-old girl on a beach or any of the other things Muslim terrorists do because they have no actual ideological motives. They kill people in the name of something. And that thing that Australian Federal Police Commissioner Krissy Barrett refuses to name isn’t terrorism. It’s Allah, Islam, the Koran and all that tremendously murderous stuff.
Saying that Islamic terrorists are terrorists not Muslims is like saying that Japanese soldiers are soldiers, not Japanese. Or that Marxist terrorists aren’t really Marxists. Or that the folks who quote the Koran and shout “Allahu Akbar” before killing a bunch of people aren’t really acting in the name of those religious principles because white liberals are convinced that’s not real Islam. Real Islam, like the true Scotsman, doesn’t actually exist anywhere except in the platonic ideals of the people who don’t practice it or for that matter any actual religion beyond occasionally going to hear a minister/rabbi in a rainbow scarf explain that everything you need to know about religion can be found in Das Kapital. That’s what they think Islam is.
But Muslims actually take their religion seriously. Seriously enough to keep on killing us. We’re the ones refusing to take it seriously.

I did particularly enjoy the line about the “rabbi in a rainbow scarf explaining that everything you need to know about religion can be found in Das Kapital.” Sadly, an accurate statement about many non-Orthodox Jews.
That non-Orthodox Jews are not fundamentalists is a good thing. That many are on the Left is a bad thing, but the two don’t necessarily go hand in hand. I’m a conservative Conservative Jew. Religious fundamentalism, whether Jewish or Christian (or Muslim), is at odds with modern scholarship. If the Rambam were alive today, he would not be Orthodox, in my opinion. I recommend reading Louis Jacobs’ “Principles of the Jewish Faith.”

Truly, the attack at Bondi Beach was not motivated by a religion. Islam is a political and cultural scheme that masquerade as religion, designed by the Caliph of Damascus to provide a structure to organize the winning Arab horde after the conquest of the Mediterranean borderlands by his fellows. There was no Mohammed, just as there is no Allah. Therefore, Islam is not a religion of any kind, unless you also think avarice, hate, misogyny, and sloth are religions.

There is truth on both sides of this argument.
The etymology of religion is “to reconnect” (to one’s source of being). Anyone who commits violence toward others in the name of their ideology is interacting with the laws of creation in a way that further disconnects them from their source of being. Therefore, their actions are not truly religious—or reconnecting—even if the perpetrator believes they are.
Islam, as a human religious institution, does have culpability on several fronts. First, some of its allegorical teachings are written in ways that can be easily misconstrued, leading certain adherents to acts of violence against others. Second, as a whole, not enough peaceful Muslims effectively rebuke those who commit violence in the name of Islam, and those who remain complicit share a significant portion of the karmic burden for the violence carried out by extremists. For the religion of Islam to have a net benefit to humanity, it would need to become more effective at teaching that jihad should only ever be directed toward the “infidel” fragments of consciousness within one’s own mind—never toward other souls.
To be fair, most religions fail dismally at teaching their adherents that their scriptures are meant to serve as guides for opening the mind to a greater reality. Most religions, however, do not encourage their most carnal followers to commit murder against others.

The Federal Police Commissioner is correct. But I bet she is just as ignorant of Islam as most people, especially politicians who should make it their business to have a working knowledge about Islam.
Krissy Barrett is correct about the religious aspect of Islam but obviously does not know that Islam is mainly a political movement. Political Islam has been responsible for the last 1400 years of world suffering due to Islam’s propagation by murder and violence. Muslims have suffered as well as a result of ‘Purification jihad’ between Sunni and Shia branches of Islam. At the very least, people must understand that the whole aim of Poiltical Islam is to make Islam, per se, the only religion.
