Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has responded to all the threats coming from Tehran about what will happen if America attacks Iran, with Iran then promising to target not just American military bases in the region, but the Jewish state as well. Now Netanyahu has told the Iranians what to expect if they attack the Jewish state, and the leader of the opposition, Yair Lapid, has said that in case of war with Iran, all internecine conflict will promptly stop, and Israelis of all political persuasions will rally round the government. More on these remarks by Netanyahu and Lapid can be found here: “Israel will use ‘unimaginable’ force if Iran attacks, Netanyahu warns at Knesset,” by Keshet Neev, Jerusalem Post, February 23, 2026:
Israel will reply with “unimaginable” force if Iran’s Islamic regime launches an attack on Israel, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned on Monday evening….
Speaking at a 40-signature debate at the Knesset, the prime minister said Israel was facing “very complex and challenging days,” amid ongoing tensions with Iran, and was prepared to respond to any threat.
“We are vigilant and prepared for every scenario. I have made it clear to the Ayatollah regime that if they make perhaps the gravest mistake in their history and attack Israel, we will respond with a force they cannot imagine,” he said….
Opposition leader Yair Lapid (Yesh Atid) sharply criticized the prime minister and his security policies during his speech responding to Netanyahu.
He also slammed the prime minister for the government’s handling of the October 7 Hamas attacks in 2023, and for blocking a state commission of inquiry to investigate the massacre….
Regarding tensions with Iran, Lapid told the plenum that there is “a decent chance that we are on the brink of a campaign.”
“If this campaign comes, and it should come, we will all put everything else aside,” he said.
“All disagreements will be frozen in deep suspension until the anger passes. As in the past, I will mobilize for Israeli advocacy and for strengthening Israel’s international standing,” Lapid added.
“I will go wherever needed, from CNN to the UK Parliament, and I will tell them: ‘You know I am the opposition leader, you know that Netanyahu and I are rivals, but Iran must be struck with full force, the Ayatollah regime must be overthrown,’” he said.
Unlike Trump, who does not always keep his promises, it is highly likely that if even one barrage of missiles is launched toward Israel, Netanyahu — who has been warning about Iran’s nuclear project ever since he first became prime minister — will order a full-scale attack on Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps commanders, on the roughly 1,500-2,000 ballistic missiles Iran still has, on the entry points to the new uranium enrichment facility under Pickaxe mountain, a mile from Natanz, and finally, on the supreme leader himself, who must now be remembering what happened to Hezbollah’s leader Hasan Nasrallah, who wrongly believed he would be safe from the IDF in a bunker deep underground.

35 years ago this Friday, Operation Desert Storm ended after 6 weeks straight of around-the-clock airstrikes to liberate Kuwait. I know, because I flew every single night of that war.
The year before, our carrier battle group was on-station in the Gulf of Oman enforcing the tail-end of Operation Earnest Will, aka, “The Tanker War”, where US combat ships had been deploying for years so as to escort oil tankers through the Straits of Hormuz because of Iran’s rattling of their Exocet anti-ship-cruise-missiles way back then. (French built)
Btw… Remember what happened afterwards? 12 years of “no-fly zones” followed by 20 years of Operation Iraqi Freedom and the permanent US troop footprint. During which, Iran was ignored the entire time.
Imagine another 46 years of US Navy carriers, anti-piracy task forces and widely dispersed ground units throughout the entire region, and the blood and treasure we will have wasted.
Try to contemplate what kind of devilish weapons they’ll create by then.
All because no one is willing to deal with this festering in-grown hair of a gov’t that has become a tumor on the body of global humanity.
In all of those words you had to throw in a jab at PRESIDENT TRUMP! What a POS move! I’ll make note of your name for any future articles! Thanks for exposing your bias!
Trump promised swift retribution if the mullahs murdered Iranian protesters. The protesters believed Trump. 30 plus thousand dead Iranians and now Trump is negotiating with the mullahs instead of swift retribution. My guess is that’s the source of the dig. Trump is being played by the mullahs who are buying time to rebuild.
That said… Trump is infinitely better than any Democrat and all corporate establishment Republicans.
What’s not true?
When Sadam sent and that Fossil Fuels from Kuate into the Persian Gulf we didn’t see read or hear anything about it from Greenpeace or any of the rest of the Eco-Nuts
I am have mixed feeling about the US attacking Iran. On one hand, its sadistic theocracy should be destroyed. OTOH, whoever steps into the void may be worse. the US has never been able to resist the temptation to control that through nation building.
I revert to, don’t overcomplicate it, the US should go in, smash up all the furniture, make sure the mullahs are hunted down and killed. If captured alive, turn them over to a successor government.
And then the US should just leave.
With a warning: Don’t force us to have to come back.
I hope Trump and Bibi just completely obliterate Iran. The grand poo bah so called “supreme leader” must take a terrestrial dirt nap
