I’m not saying it. They are.
One April day in 2022, a bus pulled up near the U.S. Capitol. It was carrying 12 Venezuelans, four Colombians, four Cubans and four Nicaraguans — and the start of a new phase in the immigration debate.
The bus had been chartered by the Texas Division of Emergency Management. “By busing migrants to Washington, D.C., the Biden administration will be able to more immediately meet the needs of the people they are allowing to cross our border,” Greg Abbott, the state’s Republican governor, said in a statement at the time.
Initially, the buses all went to Washington, “to take the border to the president,” the officials said. In August, Mr. Abbott began sending busloads of migrants to New York City. A few weeks later, buses began heading to Chicago, then Philadelphia.
The Biden administration accused Mr. Abbott of a cruel stunt. But the campaign worked. Until then, the White House viewed the migration crisis mainly as a problem for border states, former aides said. When migrants began making headlines in places like New York, that view changed.
Many Biden officials came to view Mr. Abbott’s campaign as the point Democrats lost the debate.
“I don’t think we ever recovered,” said Deborah Fleischaker, then the assistant director for policy at ICE.
There’s a vital lesson here… thinking creatively and confrontationally works. Both are important.
Some red state governors had tried ‘confrontation’ before, yelling at Obama, trying to block inbound transport of migrants, only to realize that their power to physically block what open borders administrations were doing was limited.
Abbott and DeSantis figured out workarounds. They found ways to take a problem and make it into a problem for the other side.
Shipping illegals to D.C., NYC and Martha’s Vineyard changed the national conversation and the risk calculus.
There’s plenty to remember and learn from here.
A good tactic is
1. Creative
2. Confrontational
and, most importantly because so many miss this part,
3. Effective
4. Changes the conversation
Find one that hits all 4 and you may well have a winner. Find one that’s missing 3. and it may get attention, but will go nowhere.

The Republicans have to find a way to appeal to the voting citizens in the lower part of the economy if they want to avoid being wiped out in the 2026 and 2028 elections. The bottom part of the electorate votes more on their personal economic issues rather than ideology. Maybe give them “Trump Bucks” paid for by the tariffs.
Facing reality is never a strong point for socialists. The placing of the reality of their action in their face is always entertaining.
Extremely rare political warfare success from a couple of Republican governors. Trump is the master of it. The blueprint is there but the rest of the GOP learns nothing.
Actually, they lost the border debate with me from the start. I couldn’t believe people were so stupid as not to understand the need for secure borders. But it seems they really don’t understand. Like leaving the house doors open and complaining when the raccoons come in. What are they thinking?
Trump’s success shows that Courage is essential, too. Write against islam, for example, and a psycho might make cutting your throat his goal in life. As a society we must provide the utmost support and protection to those who have the guts to speak out against the bullies – such as Mr. Greenfield.
I contend that our society has been successfully terrorized, Complacency and bluster make it difficult to admit how much this is so. “Can’t happen here”, “Those people in the blue city voted for it, they deserve it (vote fraud?)”, “I’d ?? anyone who did that to my ??” , …
I think biases cannot be overcome without admitting their existence. Fear is perhaps the most powerful bias, and serves an important purpose: survival. Pretending that we’re not afraid is not Courage, it is the opposite. Courage is: admitting the fear, confronting the problem by creating a possible solution, and effectively ending it (or at least advance the conversation).
“Stockholm syndrome” is when people adapt themselves to fear by surrendering. Our society pretends things are o.k. – “those violent fanatic weirdos rioting in the streets and attacking opposing thought leaders, will not harm us if we don’t interfere”.
Imagine growing up in a city, surrounded by leftist gangs of every sort, with perhaps the worst being “public servants” and the source of all (approved) knowledge – unionized teachers in govt institutions. Speak out against blacks, gays, trans, islam, immigrants, – any leftist sanctioned group, and fanatic lunatic idiots may find you.
The weird moral retardation afflicting liberals probably owes a lot to stockholm syndrome. They just can’t seem to see evil, or think ahead even a little to the consequences of not opposing it. And, of course, they hope for a cut of the loot – not realizing that leftist govt always finds they can’t afford to bribe everyone, and will surely use violence instead – outspoken political activists who are a danger to their rule being prime targets (after the productive private sector is destroyed).
I can’t recall the naive liberal lady,or the paper she wrote for, but she advocated a “draw Muhammad” repeat to “prove” that chickenshit islam is a religion-of-peace.
The death threats that poured from islamist oricks was deemed genuine, viable & real.
She was convinced to quit her job, change her name,, and relocate.
That’s one example among many that prove your point.
Okay this one Violent Thug breaks into the home of aa Liberal with Sawdust for Brains and starts ransacking their home Liberal idiot says ILL GIVE HIM MY DISARMING SMILE AND WIN HIM OVE AND WE CAN MEDIATE TOGETHER the Liberal gets their face pounding into the Floor and ends up in a the Intensive Care Unit in the Hospital and needs Plastic Surgery to s restore their face
Sending illegals consistently is what did it.
Sanctuary cities got a huge dose of their own policy, and bitched accordingly.
Sending 48 illegals to Martha’s Vineyard was priceless, because it exposed their hypocrisy in less than 48 hours.
“We welcome these undesirables to YOUR neighborhoods; not OURS!” (The leftist inhabitants of the Vineyard even cheered at the illegals’ removal.)
