In 2009, California voters agreed to spend $10 billion to build a train that would go from LA to San Francisco in a matter of hours by the year 2020.
There’s no train, the current cost is estimated at over $135 billion and is trying to lay rail from Merced to Bakersfield. If you don’t know what those are, well you’re not missing out on very much.
What the train to nowhere lacks in action, its CEO is trying to make up for.
Ian Choudri, the CEO of the California High-Speed Rail Authority, was arrested on suspicion of domestic battery in Folsom earlier this month, KCRA 3 has confirmed.
Folsom police said Choudri, 57, was arrested in a neighborhood in Folsom on Feb. 4. A spokesperson for the department told KCRA 3 on Monday that they did not have additional information that could be released about the arrest.
The incident occurred one day after Choudri appeared with Gov. Gavin Newsom to celebrate the completion of the Southern Railhead facility in Kern County.
His trial is expected to take 17 years and $135 billion.
I would have thought heading a project this discredited would be the worst thing anyone could do, but there’s always more.

A bigger question: what’s his cut of the money spent thus far? There’s no such thing as spending tax payers money out of the goodness of one’s heart. Anyone who believes such a thing is a damn fool who deserves to be cheated out of everything.

The fact that it’s “other peoples money.” is all the reason they need to be wild and reckless and irresponsible with other peoples money.
Greasehead Newscum receives $95,063.16 in “benefits,” on top of his $203,939.40 salary. Don’t ask me what the fifty six cents are for but us taxpayers are liable for all of his undeserved lucre. And by “us taxpayers” I mean the next ten generations or so.
No word on his CA debit card but I assume it’s limitless. Free travel, food and booze on top of his three gifted mansions, not including the temporary Governor’s Mansion and the tax free cash he gets from Gordon Gecko and his cousin, Jeremy Scherer (Schitter.)

If that train was every completed I can all but guarantee that it would become a mobile homeless shelter with the full backing and support of the California democrat party.
And a crime train the usual suspects in Oakland will use to raid every stop along its length. MS13 in their Frresno and Bakersfield dens will be granted hundreds of thousands of square miles of hunting grounds, too.

I took annual trips to Taiwan for 10 years. I saw Taiwan building the highspeed train from Taipei to Kaohsiung, about the same distance of LA to SF. Taiwan’s HST took 2 years to build and begin operations. I rode on the THST several times. I rode on the inaugural year. I was given magnets, coffee mugs, hat, banners, it was quite festive.
The train goes over 220 mph. Smooth and quiet. No seat belts, The reasoning is, if it ever derails, all will be mushed withing the train parts. Unlike a regular train, you can get up, stand and walk around and you’re not walking against the gravitational force. Just as in an airliner.
California’s HST has proven to be a money laundering operation. California has been the seat of technology since 2009. Also the seat of massive corruption. No one has been held accountable for this money laundering operation called California’s high speed train boondoggle.

Indonesia built a similar High Speed Rail that blows the doors off any of the primitive crap we have here in America. The country plans to expand it. No trains to nowhere in Japan, Taiwan, Indonesia and even backwards China. No crappy Caltrain from San Fransicko to unknown and unwanted Gilroy, South of San Jose, or Amtrak and its slow speed record of fatal derailments for those countries.
