Democrat states have some of the highest oil prices in the country. When I left California and came back, one of the things that always hit me hard was seeing per gallon oil prices that were double those outside it. I sometimes snapped photos of truly insane, like $7 a gallon, gas prices.
But to Gov. Gavin Newsom and the Democrat elites who were out to wipe out cars, this was a feature, not a bug.
It’s why Senate Democrats sabotaged efforts to refill the strategic reserve that Biden had drained in a desperate election bid.
It’s why they used to argue, as per this Harvard post, “High Oil Prices Can Help the Environment”.
Now suddenly these people are pretending to be upset about high oil prices. Gov. Gavin Newsom, whose taxes and regulations made gas prices so high in his state, is now blaming President Trump over the price of a barrel.
Here’s the thing though. Two weeks or so of bombing Iran may temporarily send oil prices higher, but they’re more likely to secure and stabilize the region in the long term. Either way it’s a temporary phenomenon whereas Dems have a party agenda of hiking oil prices permanently.
That’s why the Obama and Biden administrations waged a relentless war on drilling permits in the United States.

That reminded me, of the first time I encountered someone working in the public sector, with a neat clean desk, and a few papers stacked on it. Before that I had only seen private sector desks, stacked with messy piles of paper several feet high.
Numerous angles in California by the Democrats drove gas prices up.
Ask someone how much federal and state gas taxes add to the price of one gallon of gas. In California it’s nearly 71 cents per gallon on top of the fed tax of 18 cents. This is the highest in the nation.
I don’t believe that accounts for all the state taxes on gas. Washington state for example commonly lists as about 59 cents per gallon. But there’s an additional carbon tax applied to oil companies that add another 50 cents. (These are also just exclusive taxes, oil companies also have to pay the taxes other businesses do such as labor taxes.)
For the last several years, my senior senator (Patty Murray) has vowed to continue going after the greedy oil companies. She has nothing to show for her efforts. Not one example of price gouging. On the other hand, the state makes far more per gallon than the oil companies. Through direct taxes and carbon taxes, they have a profit of over $1 per gallon. They also have none of the risk of losses that the oil companies have. She needs to refocus her attack on greed to the state capitol.

High gas prices, getting rid of cars etc is all part of Agenda 21/Agenda 2030! Change our lives permanently in every way possible to, especially, bring down the western world (which is/was Judeo Christian)! That’s their whole agenda!
