It was just a bit of virtue-signaling, an attempt to reaffirm that she is a worthy member of the big club that you ain’t in, but it has backfired on pop singer Billie Eilish in a big way, opening her up to an embarrassing amount of ridicule. Last Sunday night at the Grammys, Eilish stated: “No one is illegal on stolen land.” Now a Los Angeles law firm has offered to evict Eilish from her sumptuous multimillion-dollar mansion and turn it over to the Native American tribe from whom the land on which it sits was supposedly stolen.
Eilish’s statement didn’t make any sense in the first place, although the Grammys crowd, eager to demonstrate that they, too, loved Big Brother, applauded it enthusiastically. After all, the idea of stolen land rests on the assumption that land can be owned, and thus that some people can occupy it legally while others would be on it only illegally. Thus if there is any stolen land at all, then some people might be illegally on that land.
Either land cannot be stolen and so no one is illegal, or land can be stolen and so some people may be illegal. But what Billie Eilish said, that no one is illegal on stolen land, cannot possibly be true.
Eilish dug the hole for herself even deeper, continuing: “And yeah, it’s just really hard to know what to say and what to do right now. And I just — I feel really hopeful in this room, and I feel like we just need to keep fighting and speaking up and keep protesting. And our voices really do matter and the people matter, and f**k ICE. That’s all I’m going to say. Sorry. Thank you so much.”
Here’s what Billie Eilish can do right now: she can prove her sincerity by vacating her $3 million Los Angeles mansion. The Tongva tribe, which is supposedly the indigenous inhabitants of the Los Angeles area, stated: “We appreciate the opportunity to provide clarity regarding the recent comments made by Billie Eilish. As the First People of the greater Los Angeles basin, we do understand that her home is situated in our ancestral land. Eilish has not contacted our tribe directly regarding her property, we do value the instance when Public Figures provide visibility to the true history of this country.”
The Tongva tribe added that its representatives had contacted Eilish’s entourage “to express our appreciation for her comments. It is our hope that in future discussions, the tribe can explicitly be referenced to ensure the public understands that the greater Los Angeles basin remains Gabrieleno Tongva territory.”
On Tuesday, the situation got even more embarrassing for Eilish, as the Sinai Law Firm posted on X: “Sinai Law Firm is offering to evict Billie Eilish from her Los Angeles home on a pro bono basis on behalf of the Tongva Tribe. Sinai Law Firm is the premier eviction firm in the county.” It added: “Eilish’s admission that she lives on stolen land gives the tribe a rightful action for possession as the true owner of the property. The 30-day notice is already written and ready to be served.”
So what will Billie Eilish do now? Most likely, she will ignore the whole thing and count on it soon blowing over, but such a course of action would hardly be commensurate with her arrogant moralizing at the Grammys. She should back up her words and vacate her home, turning it over to the Tongva tribe. If she doesn’t, Native Americans and their allies should boycott and protest her concerts, deploring the fact that by her own admission, Billie Eilish is living comfortably on stolen land.
This is just the opposite of what Billie Eilish intended to accomplish with her statement at the Grammys. She was simply affirming their membership in the great leftist collective, and demonstrating her submission to the ideas that the left proffers as axiomatically true and demands that all people accept, on pain of being charged with “hatred,” “bigotry,” “fascism,” “MAGA extremism,” and the like. She was performing on a grand scale a ritual of obeisance, a display of their membership in the great tribe.
Now she risks being branded as exactly the type of oppressor she was deploring, or as the shallow hypocrite that she obviously is. Maybe there was some wisdom in the old practice, that entertainers would not discuss politics or reveal their political preferences. But it’s too late for Billie.

That happened to an Arizona rancher named Nethercott.
He detained two illegal aliens from El Salvador trespassing on his land. (He lacked Billie’s high walls & camera network) One got uppity, so Nethercott pistol-whipped the punk, as he waited for the authorities to arrive. They arrived, he handed them over, and thought nothing more of it.
Until flaming liberals began fainting over his “violent abuse” of “innocent migrants”.
The crying & hyperventilating gendered criminal charges. One criminal case (aquitted), followed by civil charges.
The 2nd trial landed in an activist judge’s court, heard by an activist jury who found him guilty of being a white colonialist.
His ranch was confiscated & handed over to the two illegals who giddily used it as a weigh-station to welcome more illegals.
Side note: No uproar happened over George Floyd pistol-whipping a pregnant black lady.

What area on Earth is not “stolen land”? Who gets to decide what constitutes “stolen”? How do we know that groups claiming original ownership are in fact the original owners?
What about culture? Must descendants of groups who where not originally part of the Western tradition give back that culture?
Of course, here is the problem….grievances never end; they are also almost always a two-way street, as Eilish and others quickly discover.
Good one – what piece of earth wasn’t ‘stolen’ once? The Muslims think that if they’ve ever stolen a piece of land, they own it for good even if evicted by force. IOWs, they own Spain, Jerusalem, etc. They now own the UK, France, Germany, etc. for good.

Genesis 13:14,17 ” And the LORD said unto Abram…Arise, walk through the land in the length of it and in the breadth of it; for I will give it unto thee.”
Leviticus 25:23 “…the land is mine…” (God)
Psalm 2:8 “…I shall give thee…the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.” (The Father to the Son.)
It’s all God’s, and He’s going to repossess it one day.

Read “Coppermine Journey” edited by Farley Mowat. The 1798 memoir recounts Samuel Hearn”s travels with a nomadic community, of which he kept a detailed daily journal. A real eye-opener!
