The media exists not to report news, but to promote political narratives. It has zero problems lying even when it’s mostly unnecessary, but just sweetens the narrative it already wants to put out there.
In Miami, Eileen Higgins became the first white liberal woman to be elected mayor. She’s the first non-Latino to be elected mayor in 30 years. (And if the parties had been reversed, you know exactly how the media would be spinning the story of a white politician ending 30 years of Latino governance.) Is she the first Democrat in 30 years? Absolutely not.
Manny Diaz, (above) the former chair of the Florida Democratic Party (until recently) served as mayor until 2009. He technically ran as an ‘independent’, but the Miami mayoral elections tend not to be that formally political.
But the media decided to ignore the existence of the former chair of the Florida Democratic Party and claims it’s been 30 years.
Eileen Higgins will win Miami mayor’s race, CNN projects, breaking a nearly 30-year GOP hold — CNN
Miami elects first woman mayor, ends GOP’s 28-year control of City Hall – Politico
Democrats flip Miami mayor’s office, winning control for first time in nearly 30 years – The Hill
This is what I mean. The media is lying. Its lie has ‘technical’ cover since Diaz ran as an independent, but in the real world, it’s also not actually true.
The media doesn’t even need to tell this particular lie. Flipping an office Republicans had held for 16 years is fine too. But 30 years just sounds better. And the media isn’t here to report the news or even tell fact-based narratives, but to do whatever it can to help its party.
And so it lies.

“Yes, but Miami has cabana boys” J. Edgar Hoover said.
Frankly, I was shocked to learn that Miami, with all the blue-haired, Bloody Mary drinking snowbirds from New York was ever in the hands of the Republican party.
And it is all just for show because the power in Miami lies with the City Commission which is majority Republican. Miami also has a slight democrat majority in registered voters 61,000 to 53,000, but Republicans still hold the edge in Miami-Dade county 448,732 to 407,342 Democrats.
In 2024, the GOP swept every partisan countywide office: sheriff, clerk of courts, property appraiser, supervisor of elections, and tax collector. These victories mirrored Trump’s concurrent 55.2 percent countywide performance.
The Miami result most certainly energizes Democrat messaging, but in terms of genuine electoral influence, the fundamentals remain squarely in Republican hands.
The GOP didn’t have to lose…they didn’t campaign or get out the vote. Only 20% of electorate voted. Self-inflicted defeat bodes very ill for 2026, IMHO the GOP is losing on purpose—first Virginia, now Miami. Paid off or scared off, looks like. Trump must take over the Republican party apparatus immediately or face another impeachment in 2026.
A trend lasts until it stops,
Maybe you should tell Ben Shapiro that, as well. Check out the article he has posted on FB right now.
We should vote based on our own reflection and research, Looking over one’s shoulder to see what other voters are doing, so as to join some winning team, is widespread but silly.
Be that as it may, but the trend in recent elections these past couple of months does not bode well for us. “It’s the economy, stupid” still holds and the realities coupled w/the media hype suggest too many Americans are struggling and expect Trump to fix it. Of course the government can’t fix everything nor should it necessarily try, but Trump ran on lowering prices and such (that man can run his mouth) which was a foolish thing to say. But he said it and here we are. We are going to get creaming in the mid-terms and Lord only knows what 2028 will hold. (Hopefully not the current veep who seems to channel Tucker the more times passes.)
CNN is the nations #1 Source of Lies, Fake News and Leftists Propaganda like the rest of the M.S. Media Bottom Feeders and Sewer Dwellers
