The crazies on the Left have continued to come out in full force against the Trump administration.
One of the sickest comments of late was uttered by former ESPN host Sarah Spain, who claimed that the sight of Vice President JD Vance at the Winter Olympics made her “literally feel ill.” The Vice President, according to this individual afflicted with a serious case of Trump Derangement Syndrome, exuded “demon energy.” Perhaps she needs an exorcist’s intervention to rid herself of her own demons.
Former CNN commentator Don Lemon has come out of the shadows to reclaim his days of glory as a leftwing media hero. After pleading not guilty to federal charges linked to his alleged involvement in an anti-ICE invasion and disruption during a religious service at a Minnesota church, Mr. Lemon claimed that his fight was not just about him. It was “about all journalists, especially here in the United States.”
Mr. Lemon is suffering from a delusion of grandeur as a martyr leading the crusade for freedom of the press against the Trump administration. But in reality, he is just a hack trying to gain national attention as a pretend journalist who just happened to be present with camera crew in tow while a holy sanctuary of worship was being violated.
In Minnesota, the lunatics have taken over the asylum. Its Democrat Governor Tim Walz demanded that the federal government reimburse his state for the “damage” he claims the immigration law enforcement agents caused during their surge operation that is now ending. “The federal government needs to pay for what they broke here,” Governor Walz said.
Abraham Lincoln defined a hypocrite as a “man who murdered his parents, and then pleaded for mercy on the grounds that he was an orphan.” Governor Walz fits that definition to a tee.
Governor Walz and other state and local leaders incited mob violence in the streets of Minneapolis against immigration law enforcement agents with their fiery anti-ICE rhetoric. Their reckless behavior led the agitators to think that it was OK to obstruct law enforcement, assault ICE agents, and damage property in the process. Nevertheless, Governor Walz expects the federal government to pick up the tab for the damage.
The governor has it backwards. The state and Minneapolis municipal governments should be required to reimburse the federal government for damage to federal property resulting from their incitement and failure to provide timely police protection for federal personnel and facilities. And how about reimbursing the federal government for the billions of dollars of U.S. taxpayers’ money fraudulently diverted on Governor Walz’s watch while he was looking the other way?
Insanity has also swept over the Democrats in Congress. They are competing to see who can put on the craziest performance to attract maximum social media clicks.
New Jersey Democrat Representative LaMonica Mclver, for example, asked ICE Acting Director Todd Lyons at a recent congressional hearing, “how do you think Judgment Day will work for you with so much blood on your hands?” When Mr. Lyons refused to answer this outrageous question, Rep. Mclver doubled down by asking, “Do you think you’re going to Hell, Mr. Lyons?” Again, Mr. Lyons kept calm and refused to respond.
Commenting on Rep. Mclver’s meltdown, Republican Senator Jim Banks of Indiana remarked that “ICE Derangement Syndrome is a real thing in today’s Democratic Party.”
Maryland Democrat Representative and House Judiciary Committee Ranking Member Jamie Raskin tore into Attorney General Pam Bondi with a crazy accusation during a recent House Judiciary Committee hearing. “Whether it’s Epstein’s human trafficking ring or the homicidal government violence against citizens in Minneapolis,” he said, “as attorney general you’re siding with the perpetrators and you’re ignoring the victims.”
Attorney General Bondi did not sit back and take the incoming abuse passively when faced with Rep. Raskin’s tantrum. She called Rep. Raskin a “washed-up, loser lawyer,” which is about right.
Democrat Rep. Pramila Jayapal, the Chair Emerita of the Congressional Progressive Caucus from Washington State, asked the Epstein victims or their family members attending the hearing to stand and raise their hand if they “had not been able to meet with this Department of Justice.” Rep. Jayapal asked Attorney General Bondi whether she was prepared to apologize to them. The attorney general said that she was “not going to get in the gutter for her theatrics” and asked, “Why didn’t she ask Merrick Garland this twice when he sat in my chair?”
Texas Democrat Rep. Jasmine Crockett, who is running for a Texas Senate seat, said at the hearing, “I’m not saying that the president is a pedophile, but there is a lot of evidence in these files that suggests that he’s very close friends with a lot of men who are pedophiles. What’s crazy about all of this is just that this is a big cover-up, and this administration is engaged in it. In fact, this administration is complicit.”
What’s crazy about all of this is that the unhinged Crockett, citing no credible evidence to back up her wild accusations, engaged in blatant McCarthyism before storming out of the hearing in a huff.
Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent was also subjected to Democrats’ rants. At a fiery hearing, California Rep. Maxine Waters, the top Democrat on the House Financial Services Committee, lost her cool when she asked the chairman of the House Financial Services Committee to stop Secretary Bessent from trying to respond to her questions with more than a simple yes or no. “Can you shut him up?” Rep. Waters asked.
This is the same woman who told a blogger and life-long Southern California resident, “The illegals are here to stay!”
No wonder President Trump has called Rep. Maxine Waters “crazy.”
Democrat Rep. Gregory Meeks of New York asked Secretary Bessent whether the Treasury Department planned to investigate reports that Mr. Trump’s cryptocurrency firm sold a half billion-dollar stake to an Emarati royal family member shortly before Mr. Trump was inaugurated. Not satisfied with the Treasury Secretary’s answer, Rep. Meeks shouted at Secretary Bessent, “Stop covering for the president. Don’t be a flunky -Work for the American people! Work for the American people! Don’t be a coverup for a mob!”
Congressional Democrats have gone completely over the edge regarding the SAVE America Act, which passed in the House of Representatives with all Republicans and one lonely Democrat voting in favor but faces a likely filibuster in the Senate.
The SAVE America Act requires documentary proof of U.S. citizenship to register to vote in federal elections such as a U.S. passport or birth certificate. It also mandates government-issued photo identification for in‑person voting and restricts the use of mail‑in ballots.
These nationwide requirements to vote in federal elections should make sense to any rational, clear-thinking adult. Indeed, most Americans support these commonsense reforms to help ensure election integrity, including a majority of Democrats. But congressional Democrats are making wild claims that the SAVE America Act would return the country to the days of Jim Crow when insurmountable election barriers were imposed on blacks trying to vote. In their minds, it would be too difficult for blacks and other minority groups to obtain the necessary identification documentation, which itself is a racist insult that infantilizes people of color.
Take, for example, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer of New York, who said that the bill is “dead on arrival” when it reaches the Senate. “While the specific policies may have changed since the days of the Jim Crow South,” he declared, “the goal of the SAVE Act is the same: disenfranchising American citizens and making it harder for eligible people to vote, particularly low income Americans and people of color. The SAVE Act would introduce the 21st century equivalent of a democracy that tolerates literacy tests and asks people to guess the number of jellybeans in a jar. Democrats will not sign our names to this radical piece of legislation that takes away the right to vote from tens of millions of American citizens.”
Senator Schumer does not seem to have a problem with the requirement that all adults 18 and older must present REAL ID-compliant state-issued identification or other acceptable ID such as a passport to enter most federal facilities. Similarly, we have not heard him express any grave concern that government-issued photo identification must be presented before being able to fly domestically and internationally, to take advantage of banking services, or to enter many commercial office buildings, for example. It is only when it comes to voting in presidential and congressional elections that Senator Schumer becomes unduly anxious about proof of citizenship and identification requirements. This sounds like a case of cognitive dissonance, which he shares with other congressional Democrats opposed to the SAVE America Act.
Georgia Senator Jon Ossoff compared voter ID to Jim Crow era requirements to vote even though a government-issued photo ID must be presented to attend his own campaign events. The nonwhite turnout in Georgia midterm elections rose from 31.2 percent in 2014 to 47 percent in 2022, which was a year after Georgia’s own election reform legislation, which its critics called Jim Crow 2.0, was enacted. Senator Ossoff needs to take his head out of the Georgia sand.
“The so‑called SAVE Act is not about voter identification, it is about voter suppression,” House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries asserted in repeating tired old Democrat demagogic accusations.
Speaker Mike Johnson spoke for sanity and commonsense. “Proof of citizenship and photo ID to vote; everyone in the country understands the necessity of that and understands how simple it is and how important it is,” Speaker Johnson said. “This has become a bitter partisan fight in its madness to us.”
Speaker Johnson should know by now that madness is par for the course on the Left.
