Once it was clear that its attacks on Oct 7 wouldn’t lead to the conquest and destruction of Israel (especially once Hezbollah refused to pull the trigger and Iran hung before instead of launching the massive rocket barrage that would have followed had it looked like its Jihadists might be winning), Hamas fell back and used the hostages and more importantly, worldwide propaganda, as a shield to prevent Israel from finishing it off.
Hamas had two objectives in the negotiations.
1. Leverage the handful of hostages for the mass release of Islamic terrorists to nail down the narrative that it did more than survive, it won.
The disastrous ‘peace deal’ accomplishes that, unleashing large numbers of some of the worst monsters.
But, more importantly,
2. That Israel would not be able to go back in and attack it.
Hamas obviously accomplished its first objective. The question of whether it accomplished the second objective is still up in the air. The Blair-Witkoff-Kushner peace plan is a Qatari plot to safeguard a Hamas state (under the façade of dismantling it) by building a political infrastructure that it can operate behind, by bringing in foreign ‘peacekeeping’ troops sympathetic to Hamas to do for it what the UN’s peacekeeping troops did for Hezbollah: allow it to attack Israel and then hide behind the ‘peacekeepers’ to prevent any Israeli retaliation.
The Qataris and their useful idiots did their best to create such a wall for Hamas in its plan. But it’s up to us if that plan succeeds.
The Gaza plan depends on the United States to maintain it. The best position for the Trump administration to take, is to ‘take the win’ with the hostages, take the victory tour and then stop being involved.
Nation building is a bad idea in general. It’s a worse idea in Gaza. And still a worse idea using blueprints from the state sponsor of Hamas meant to protect it.
As I’ve been saying for two years now, the best thing the U.S. can do in Gaza is not be involved. The only people who disagrees are left-wing wokes and right-wing wokes who are now very excited about recognizing a ‘Palestinian’ state. The more we get dragged into nation-building, the more we have to lose.

I’d say the chance of the US backing out now is slim to none because (1) Trump’s ego is now off the charts and will be motivated to keep going with his flights of fancy ideas, and (2) the rest of the world is already knee deep involved and there is a lot of momentum to remain so, tout the variation of interfaith dialogue that is now going on, etc. In sum: The West has proven to be abject fools when it comes to the ME and the nature of Islam. There is no sign of that ending anytime soon. And now they have the perfect playground upon which to force these dangerous ideas into practice, with Israel as the sacrificial lamb.
In theory, I believe Israel needs to end her dependence on the US and world approval, but I’m not sure that’s possible, especially the former when it comes to munitions supply. I’d love to hear Daniel’s thoughts about the feasibility of her being free of this leash.
Excellent comment!
My solution would be looked at as genocidal , so both the world left and the too often, surprisingly liberal Jews of Israel would riot at the mention, likely only resulting in a propaganda win for the left. The Overton window has been moved so far to the left that consideration of the survival of Jewish people or the state of Israel is no longer allowed in public conversation.
Regardless, the only real solution is the opposite of what Israel is doing. Everytime a terrorist attack occurs, take a section of Arab land and kick the slimes out. Everytime. These are your enemies. End of. Until you do this, you are just prolonging the conflict and playing word games.
Bibi has already made self-suffiency in regards to military supplies and munitions a top priority.
Israel would never ever entertain endings it’s dependence on the US. Israel is a country of 9 Million people. The US has about 340 million. Israel is the size of NJ with a smaller GDP. Israel has relatively scarce natural resources. Israel wouldn’t exist without the US.
3 billion in aid Israel receives from the US. Trust me, Israel can’t do it on their own.
I fear you are correct. And so Israel will forever remain depending on the US and the whims of who is in power.
Horrible.
Nah, Netanyahu has said that it isn’t a make or break part of their budget. Whereas I questioned this, mainly because they are getting a cut rate price on weapons, it would be barely noticed upon introspection. Israel wouldn’t even really be weakened on national defense even if its defense received all the cuts. It doesn’t have to be dependent, it’s mutually beneficial for both countries to work together.
The Benedict Israel libs however have decided that suicide is the only path. Netanyahu and Trump won’t have to keep their side of the agreement. scam as has already started their killing. I hope they don’t play that stupid,” we’re so pure and good” game once again. No one is listening. Zero gained. pointless.
It is a LOT more than 3 billion per year for Israel’s 9 million people:
https://www.cfr.org/article/us-aid-israel-four-charts
On 9 August 2024, the Department of State said the United States would send Israel an additional $3.5 billion to spend on US-made weapons and military equipment.
Financially, aid invests in America. It directly supports over 20,000 jobs in the U.S. and indirectly supports thousands of other jobs. Over 1,000 companies in the U.S. have signed contracts worth billions of dollars through America’s commitment to help Israel defend against ascending threats.
The US doesn’t need anything from Israel. Israel needs the US. I mean, if you don’t know who who gets the better of the deal, by far and away, I don’t know what to tell you.
Israel and NJ are the same size and NJ has a larger GDP. You think the small return Israel invests in the US makes or breaks us?
And Jews didn’t have theirbc0ountry back for thousands of years.
Ultimately, according to Zechariah 12:1-3, Israel will not be able to depend on the US. Many believe there will not BE a US to depend on, because we will be judged by Almighty God for also joining with everyone else to divide the land and force a Palestine state. We have been greatly blessed because we have blessed Israel, but those blessings will turn to curses when we finally reject the Word of God and abandon Israel. I’m afraid there’s a handwriting-on-the-wall event in President Trump’s future, and that we will be the first nation to fall. To whom much is given, much is expected.
Please pray for President Trump’s salvation, that the Lord will be gracious and merciful granting him repentance, that he will come to a knowledge of the truth, come to his senses, and escape the snare of the devil who holds him captive to do his will.
Maranatha.
That’s incorrect. Nowhere in the bible does it say anyone is blessed if they bless Israel, or cursed if anyone or country doesn’t. Modern day Israel isn’t ancient Israel. Modern day Israel has some of the most liberal abortion laws in the world. They welcome gay marriage and Israel is a secular state. Yet, you think God is pleased and wants to bless modern day Israel?
That verse you took out of context refers to Abraham and his “seed”. Seed being Christ.
Say what you want but Trump got the captives home. Really it’s only because hamas had no choice, but they gamed themselves because both Netanyahu and Trump know that scamass will not keep any of their agreements so we got the captives back and we won’t have to keep any of our agreements.
True. Sad that we did not get more for all the treasure and lives exhausted in the war so far.
It’s not as bad as Iraq or Afghanistan though – as Israel has only spent 2 years and hundreds of lives this- instead of 20 years and G-d knows how many lives.
Of course, this means the whole thing will have to be repeated as a result …
but what else is new?
But Israel is so much much smaller so time and # of lives is not proportional .Plus Israel gets worse form lying media than anyone or anywhere and that does damage,
Trump has announced that this is not only the end of the Gaza war, but the end of the age of terrorism and there will now only be peace and the Age of G-d going forward. Heaven forbid he, or any leaders in the West, would understand the nature of Islam, but apparently that continues to remain for another day as yet undetermined. His lofty words are empty fantasy and consign the world to more terror.
Well then you may find this interesting > “For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape”.
The King James Version (KJV) verse for when people say “peace and safety” is 1 Thessalonians 5:3:
Other relevant verses are found in Jeremiah 6:14 and Ezekiel 13:10, which speak of a false peace.
Exactly accurate. Nowhere did he address the root cause so no real plan to end the problem or realistically contain it just the delusion that everyone “likes him” so they want to do Jihad anymore. Which is so bizarre. Especially after reading that “snake poem” over and over.
Cripes Sarah. You might try being a little realistic.
The problem is with the liberal Jews in Israel and their brainwashing and idiocy of accepting unrealistic and conflicting ideals hand fed by communists to weaken them. I’m pretty sure they are going to get rid of Netanyahu. He seems to be the last bulwark keeping Israel from defeat and dissolving or being overrun.
The vulnerability and incompetent response to the Oct 7th attack has all the hallmarks of liberal communist infiltration. Whatever they can nickel and dime to make their target weaker, they aggressively pursue it. In this case they neutralized the warning and response system with bureaucratic inefficiencies and censorship.
Trump got the people home. He can’t change the hearts and minds of the Israeli people. Just like the US, israel can’t be saved if it keeps lying down with dogs. Trump should have nothing to do with whether Israel develops a hardline and the agreement is a not a central issue anyway in whether Israel survives. Jews in Israel are likely more liberal than the US. Thank God there are a lot of Orthodox Jews in Israel.
i do not know whether you (mean the author – Daniel ) see the comments or not, and didn’t find a way to contact.
I’d like to ask a question – please excuse my ignorance: if the USA leaves as you suggest – Israel will be stuck with all the bunch of Israel hater liar propagandists. How should Israel react / behave if / when the situation changes? it’s a matter of time and things will go the extremist muslin/communist way…
I do read.
I don’t want to see America in the middle of it, caught in the familiar cycle of giving terrorists a pass to prop up a dead end plan. And if we’re out, Israel will have more options than if we’re trying to maintain an unworkable peace.
Thank you – got the point of wishing to be out – second part is what i was wondering – HOPE you are right…
Iteresting to hear Mosab Hassan Yousef’s take. He does not have much faith in this deal.
But CENTCOM was there meeting with the IDF. They looked very impressive in the photo I saw. But what is US CENTCOM going to say or do when Hamas, or Hamas by another name, tries to come raging into Israel, Will they announce a “love in” because “peace on earth”
If Trump had said anyone who attacks Israel has the US military to answer to, now that would be a different game. But, no. He is only protecting Qatar.
His CENTCOM may be there to prevent Israeli self defense. Creepy “peace” thought, yes?
Trump won’t try to nation build the Gaza toilet into a country. He’s always been strongly opposed to stupid entanglements with stupid foreigners.
He got some hostages back and it was joyful to see them reunited with their families. I think he’s going to step back and let Gaza fester while the IDF wipes out Hamass. Netanyahu defers to Trump because he’s far and away the most powerful man on the planet but I think Trump has washed his hands of this stuff.
Look at the release of the terrorists as an “opportunity”! Israel doesn’t enforce a Death Penalty, but they have no qualms about targeting terrorists! Just let the hamasses act up and then hit them with all you have short of nukes! PRESIDENT TRUMP should make it clear that any future attacks – even a thrown rock – will be reason for the unleashing of pure tee hell!! I’m sure Israel has the satellite capabilities to track those released terrorists and will have enough “assets” scattered to make sure they can “reach out” when needed! They don’t play!
Another aspect to consider is the INFIGHTING between the clans and hamass ! I’m sure it won’t get much friendlier! I’d just leave them alone and let them go at each other for a few years!!
This is a disgusting “win” for Ham-ass…. A total disaster of a “peace deal”. And I hope that Israel is ready now to continue her war to finish the destruction of Gaza and the Ham-ass.
I love Trump but he DOES NOT deserve the Nobel Peace Prize for this. Sorry, he just doesn’t.
I’d like to know how long the US troops will remain in Gaza.
They will be in Israel supposedly
They aren’t going there. Trump would never send troops to that shithole with targets on their backs.
I see we have a Hamass groupie here. I’m surprised they give you computer access in their rat tunnels .
What is your alternative, Daniel? What would Israel “finishing Hamas off” look like? Netanyahu more or less admitted it looked like displacing substantially the whole population of Gaza. Where? No one is saying.
What would that region look like in twenty years, in your perfect world?
I ask sincerely.
It would look like ‘finishing Hamas off’. As in ending the terrorist group’s ability to function and certainly rule over Gaza.
That’s what winning a war means.
The media has tried to make the simple and the common sense complicated.
What that would take is ultimately up to Hamas and those in Gaza who prop it up. Much as it was up to Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan, what it would take to get them to stand down.
Trying to blame the decisions of the enemy on the civilized world is the kind of backward thinking that got us into this mess to begin with.
In the cases of Nazi Germany or Imperial Japan, we occupied their countries.
That is the plan here, is it not? But not occupation by Israel, which has been tried and failed, for the obvious reason that Gazans hate the Israelis. Occupation by Arab nations whose own interests would be served by a lasting peace.
This whole thing in great measure has been a for-profit enterprise. Keeping conflict alive by fueling grievances creates money flow that makes those connected to it rich.
Trump is in effect proposing a massive influx of money–which will create plenty of room for money grabbing–but in the service of a longer term improvement in the living conditions of Gazans. If they are not poor and desperate, radicalism and self defeating, quasi-nihilistic violence will be much less enticing, won’t it?
If gazans are “poor” it’s because their own people — the elected gazan government of Hamas — used $billions in aid money for twenty years to build the massive tunnel networks and stockpile weapons under hospitals and schools for PR propaganda puposes — this is where the gazans’ money went by their own choice into tunnels and weapons — they’re not “desperate” because they happily gave all their $billions in aid money to their Hamas leaders to use to fight and kill the Jews in the name of islam — only paid off woke idiots like Greta and the Pope pretend there are “poor desperate” gazans — it’s all a UN PR fantasy of propaganda to manipulate self-righteous Western idiots’ “moral” vanity — this “poor desperate” gazans lie needs to be slapped down every time a decadent Western idiot waves it about like Marie Antoinette’s lace hanky
Nobody wants to occupy the Gaza toilet and nobody will. Only lice and bedbugs.
For the US to put one man in that death trap is hideously stupid.
The same failed media and failed politicians have been peddling the lie that Hamas cannot be defeated. They said the same about Iran, so they appeased it as a “strategy.” I see APPEASEMENT as the prize the Arab countries (Qatar, Turkey, Egypt) are now receiving. That’s a major win in jihad wars.
There was a time when the Communist allies of the Nazis claimed that an ‘ism’ couldn’t be defeated.
When Hitler invaded Russia, they changed their minds.
I seem to remember Trump bombing Iran And Qatar/Gutter. He’s going to kill the Iranian mullahs before he leaves office. Just watch.
“Never forget and never again.” He said that. I heard him and saw him.
Alzheimer Joe’s handlers paid off the jihadi terrorist mullahs in Iran with billions of dollars. I think it was hundreds of billions.
I hope his butt cancer makes him scream in agony like the bitch he is. Maybe “Dr.” Jill can help him? And maybe Russia, China and the Ukraine will wire him some money? Naw.. He outlived his use as a traitor a long ago. He’s not woth a scoop of chocolate chip ice cream now. Scream, pedo Joe, scream. You ain’t going to be groping any more pre-pubescent girls anytime soon. Satan has you by your tiny balls and you’re going to burn.
I get the sense that if you were ever appointed a General, your “strategy” would be to “win all the battles”. That’s not a great approach.
The questions are what the objective is, and how to get there. Winfield Scott said at the outset of the Civil War, in effect, that the fastest path to Richmond was through Vicksburg. He was right. The “win all the battles” people took quite a while to realize it, though.
Peace is the desired end state, and Israel will not be buying itself peace if it murders or displaces the whole of the Gazan population. Nor will peace be likely if Israel occupies or annexes Gaza indefinitely. So what other options do you have to propose?
There are historical precedents for defeating Islamic terrorists, but few of them in our time.
Peace is not the desired end state because peace is not an option. There’s no peace in the Muslim world outside Israel. The desired end state is the defeat of the enemy.
When you understand that, you know the situation. When you pretend that peace is possible with people whose worldview depends on destroying you, you’re going to sabotage yourself.
Multiple Muslim, Arab nations have signed peace treaties with Israel. In what respect is that not peace?
And if you still want to insist “peace is not possible”, what should the next 20 years look like? Do we need to invade every Muslim country and prohibit the teaching of Islam? Kill them all? Round them up and put them in camps?
These may sound like ridiculous questions, and that may be so, but they are in my view still less ridiculous than saying “peace is not possible”.
And where did my other comment go?
Barely Pooper,
“Multiple Muslim, Arab nations have signed peace treaties with Israel. In what respect is that not peace?” In the respect that they constantly attack Israel militarily, financially, socially, politically and every other way.
Hard not to notice unless your head is up your ass.
But They are just fine with wanting to murder allJews and end Israel. That flew under your radar. If they want that, then we must match them and up them.
David Goldman has written about this. According to him existential wars are won when approximately 30% of the fighting age male population is killed. Assuming approximately 300-400,000 fighting age males in Gaza, and taking the popularly stated statistics as somewhat valid, then subtracting for non-fighting age males, it’s probably somewhat less than halfway there.
not when it’s slimes
I’ll repeat the comment that seemingly disappeared, in substance at least.
We occupied Imperial Japan. We occupied Nazi Germany.
Israel has ALREADY occupied Gaza. It was a nightmare.
The plan here is to occupy Gaza with ARAB troops overseen by American soldiers and leadership, or so I understand.
That is a precise analogue to the end of World War 2, but one that is politically doable because the Arabs are not hated like the Israelis.
I am disappointed in you here. You’ve written a lot of good columns, but something seems to be stuck right now.
Gaza is part of Israel and Jews – the rightful citizens of that country – never occupied it. They used to live there and made it halfway civilized until Ariel Sharon made it Judenrein and handed it to your butt buddies in Hamass. You love sucking those miniature Paleo peckers, don’t you?
Beachfront property on the largely shark free Mediterranean Sea? Only the Paleosimians could fuck that up and make it a terrorist Hellhole. They wallow in pig shit.
Israel’s opposition leader Yair Lapid: “Foreign critics who attacked Israel had been deceived. There was no genocide. They played with your minds, selling you that supporting Islamic terror is somehow a liberal value.”
In 2025, supporting islamic terror and playing with your minds have become liberal values. The left lackey media (and their NGO puppetmasters) who sell the lies that create these new “liberal values” are as much the enemy as the islamic terrorists they spin as “oppressed”.
Who cares where they’re banished to? They can’t stay in Israel. Fuck them. They could all be killed and I wouldn’t lose a minute of sleep. I’d probably chuckle.
Where did my comment go?
I will ask again: Daniel, what is your plan? What does “finishing off Hamas”–your words–look like in the only world we live in?
What does that part of the world look like in 20 years if you get everything you say you want?
More peaceful. The Paleosimians are subhuman and defile the world.
TRUMP IS PRO-ISRAEL, HOWEVER
Trump didn’t let Israel finish off the Iranian regime.
Trump didn’t let Israel finish off Hamas.
Witkoff’s family has deep business ties in Qatar, as reportedly does Kushner, and Trump is rewarding Qatar, the protector and council of Hamas and financer of terror globally – with providing training of Qatari fighter planes by America and by guaranteeing Qatari security.
Trump is putting Israel at risk by empowering Israel’s enemies (Qatar, Turkey and Egypt) and signing deals about Israel’s future without Israel’s presence or participation.
SONETHING IS VERY WRONG HERE
I watched BBC and CNN today. They interviewed rabid anti-Netanyahu leftists from Israel on one side. On other side they interviewed anti-Israel Israeli Arab MP who had been heckling Trump and a large selection of Hamas spokesmen.
I do not think that during the Cold War American TV had been interviewing Soviet officials and on for the balance presenting American Communists.
Lamestrem media ALWAYS gets it very wrong
During WWll, NY Times journalist Walter Durante peddled the lie that Stalin was a peaceful man with good intentions, and whom the people loved m That was AFTER he had already murdered millions of his people. THINGS HAVE NOT CHANGED.
Award winning Durante. They still display his Pulitzer Prize at the times.
After watching videos of Hamas reasserting control today, I’m not optimistic.
Yes, reassuring control by murdering Palestinians who challenged their barbaric practices. Check out Geller report (Pam Geller) for live videos.
Yes, those subhumans are literally dancing in the streets. Why Israel continues to provide them with free utilities and food, I have no idea. Suicidal, I guess.
If there are so-called peace-keeping forces/troops in Gaza from various countries like Egypt, Indonesia, etc. and if, and if some person or group in Gaza sends rockets into Israel, the situation will be even more complicated than it already is now because it could mean Israel would have to go to war with any number of countries presumably keeping the peace. What a mess!
You are saying things so self obvious, that it is strange that anyone have to say that. 😉
Something interesting:
After ordering Israel to leave Hamas alone and disinviting Israel from Sharm El Sheikh summit, the participants decided to disarm Hamas.
That reminded me of an old Soviet comedy Tamer of Tigers.
The staff of the circus had been angry at the tamer of tigers for addiction to alcohol and violation of discipline. They had a union meeting and voted to expel him.
The next vote on the agenda: Who should enter the cage with the tigers?
And who is going to disarm Hamas in Gaza?
The Israelis made the mistake of not watching their borders closely enough two years ago. I am certain they will never let that happen again.
They have also demonstrated an uncanny talent for long-range assassination, not to mention the US’s willingness to go to the mat for Israel (Iran’s nuke facility).
I think the surrounding Muslim nations will be scrupulous in keeping Hamas and any terrorist groups in their countries on a short leash, at least in the short term.
An addendum: If I were in Netanyahu’s shoes, I would have told the terrorists in their prisons that they were going to get vaccines in case they picked up any viruses while in prison. But instead, inject a small tracking device in then all.
You get my drift?
Gaza needs to take care of itself for once it might do them a lot of Good for once
How you gonna build a nation where 40% of the marriages are first or second cousins? A lunatic asylum maybe, but not a nation.
A monkey house.
Interesting how I’ve had 2-3 comments disappear. Pathetic. Strong minds actually thrive on opposition.
The questions I am asking are reasonable. To say peace is impossible is a massive failure of imagination, particularly when you ignore the logical consequences of this claim.
I’ll leave it alone with that. It’s just sad that you TOO act like left wing websites. Weak Sauce. It’s cowardly, and that is a particularly shameful thing when your writings counsel heroism and sacrifice on the part of others.
I won’t check this site any more, so you can censor this comment too.
Barely Pooper,
buh bye! Take your weak ass and go bugger off. Chomo.
The best thing US can do is to focus on getting rid of islamists in the US.
Israel is not the only nation who is under invasion and threat of islamic terrorists.
There are far more islamic invaders and terrorists in the free world than in Israel. And none of the leaders is doing anything about it.
That’s exactly where the next war front against islamic invasion and terrorism should be.
US is a couple of leftist admins away from being destroyed. The time to act is now.
Apparently this irresistable deal meant Israel handed over all the prisoners at one time, while Hamas didn’t return all the hostages (both alive and dead) at one time. Setting aside how thoroughly sickening the entire affair is (releasing prisoners to rejoin the endless jihad), how does anyone with a few brain cells set up an arrangement like that? Not even phases. So now Israel released the prisoners, but Hamas is holding back, dragging their feet, on the release of the dead bodies. And of course, Trump and Netanyahu are banging their fists on the table and threatening if Hamas keeps this up: “or else!” How pathetic is that?
Trump saying he may give Israel the green light (don’t even get me started on the suggestion that Israel can’t make a military move w/o US approval) to resume fighting in light of Hamas no returning dead hostages. Oh what a needlessly tangled web ignorant leadership weaves.
Because Trump’s plan supports the Palestinian people/nation lie, there’s no win for Trump to take.
The only win for the US:
If all ‘non-Hamas’ people leave Gaza, either temporarily or permanently relocating to their countries of choice, and only Hamas remains in Gaza, then Hamas can be totally destroyed. They can be deprived of food, water, fuel, electricity. Billions go for successful emigration, nothing for terrorists who stay.
Hamas can surrender at any point or choose to dig their own graves, to die in their own tunnels, which will be demolished. Above ground, nothing will remain either.
The land of Gaza must then rest from so many years of evil growth. It must lie fallow. Only after that period of rest can the clumps of soil be broken up and prepared for planting pure and holy seeds, the nation of Israel. Trump’s plan dismisses this fact completely and deliberately. Israel tends the land God gave her. She tends it with her love and her blood. No one else.
That’s the only win for good against evil.
Trump has just announced that the killing in Gaza must stop! Oh, wow. That should do the trick. Who would have thought of that. Just tell these sub-humans to stop being adherents to Islam. Yeah, that’s the ticket.
