The people in eastern California, away from the coastal areas, are generally patriotic and sane, and they’re tired of being subjected to the misrule of Gavin Newsom and the other far-left kleptocrats in Sacramento, who care about them only as a cash cow to fund their socialist pipe dreams. Accordingly, the minority leader of the California State Assembly, James Gallagher (R-Was There Any Doubt?) has actually come up with a plan to detach California’s rural eastern counties from the state and create a new red state out of them. Hey, let’s hear it for the government deriving its just powers from the consent of the governed!
Fox News reported recently that Gallagher plans to introduce “a new bill to split California into two new states along a north-south line as a response to Gov. Gavin Newsom’s mid-decennial redistricting effort.” The bill, AJR-23, “would create a new state featuring its liberal coast and another uniting California’s conservative inland counties.”
Well, why not? People have already been voting with their feet, streaming out of socialist Newsomland and swelling the population of free states such as Texas and Florida. This is already a massive rebuke to the left’s claim to embody the will of the people and concern for workers, and if eastern California manages to break away, it would be a tremendous victory for representative government. Right now, the voters in eastern California have hardly any representation at all and exist primarily as a pocketbook for the socialist schemes of Newsom and his henchmen.
Gallagher’s bill is, however, unlikely to succeed, and that in itself underscores the fact that leftists can only maintain their rule by force. People who have never lived in a socialist state often long to live in one (just look at Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez), but those who have actually suffered under socialist rule know better, and would prefer to live anywhere else, even if it means carving out a new state and starting at square one rather than continuing to suffer under Sacramento’s socialist misrule.
Gallagher explains: “The people of inland California have been overlooked for too long. It’s time for a two-state solution.” The latest insult is “Sacramento’s attempt to permanently redraw California’s congressional maps – an act he says would silence rural voices and rig the political system forever.” Yes, it would, but this shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone. Rigging the political system forever is what leftists are all about. Look at the Soviet Union. Look at Communist China. Look at Venezuela, and at American leftists’ efforts to institutionalize mail-in voting so as to ensure their ongoing ability to manipulate election results at will.
If somehow Gallagher succeeded, the new state would not be insignificant: “While the political power of California’s overall current landmass would be diminished, the new ‘Inland’ California would be one of the largest states by population in the nation, and reliably right-leaning.” Meanwhile, the Left Coast, the Land of Fruits and Nuts, would retain its character: “Following a series of county lines generally slightly west of Interstate 5 – which runs the 800-mile height of the state – the new coastal state would retain many notably left-wing communities like San Francisco, Oakland, Los Angeles, Silicon Valley and Sonoma.” The left would get the bigger slice of the pie: “The 17 coastal counties would together create a state of 29.5 million people while the inland state would be home to 10 million.”
Yet despite the nobility and worthiness of this effort to extend the fruits of representative government to disenfranchised patriotic Californians, the effort is unlikely to succeed, and Newsom’s gerrymandering scheme to remove even what’s left of any opposition to leftist rule in his once-great state will continue. The state’s Senate Republican Leader, Brian Jones, noted correctly that Newsom didn’t get elected governor “to play gerrymandering games to boost his presidential campaign, [but] to solve problems here at home,” but for the left, political opposition is a problem. Newsom is setting out, ruthlessly, to solve it, and for the left, that makes him presidential timber.
If he is elected president in 2028, expect Newsom to move just as ruthlessly against the left’s political opposition on a nationwide scale. Old Joe Biden did it, with his regime’s work with the tech giants to silence COVID dissidents and his efforts to establish a “Disinformation Governance Board.” Newsom will do it, too, if he gets the chance. It’s what leftists do.

An assassin’s bullet is the answer to many of California’s problems. I just hope somebody shoots Newscum in the balls before the head. Let him bleed his nuts out before the mercy shot. If two would be assassins shot at Trump, why not shoot that cunt Newscum? He actually deserves to die for what he’s done to CA. I sure hope somebody does. And I don’t want to read any mewling comments about how I supposedly shouldn’t have written this. People like you are part of the problem. I hope you all die slowly and agonizingly of testicular and vaginal cancers.
That was an expressive post. With the way of ‘things’ in CA, getting the political pendulum to swing back to sanity, or just towards sanity, has become a challenge. A challenge made necessary by how far off the rails Newsom’s corruption and callous ineptitude has gone!
Too late. California can’t be put back on the rails. The government infrastructure is rotted from the inside out.
Sounds like arrogant big talk you didn’t think all the way through. Go ahead and fire the first shot if you’ve got any guts. Just remember that the first shot is usually followed by someone shooting back. Historians call it civil war, something that is unthinkably gruesome. I suggest you look at the big picture.
I don’t think many people would be willing to fight a civil war over Gavin Newsom. It could make him a martyr to the deluded left, though, and that would be counterproductive. Amusing, but counterproductive.
i saw a proposal once to make Cali into 3 states, that would be great, make one of them the south west from Lost Angels to Mejico another from LA up to bay area with. then one north and east, maybe Fresno or Sac could be their capital. many times Cali total votes is close, its so unfair that their total 54 or whatever votes they have go to the demoncraps every time when the vote is close, with 3 states, we have a shot to get more electoral votes . to be totally fair or honest if i was NY state i would demand they make NY city a friggin district like the district of columbia. nyc just screws over the western part of nY anyways
We here in Southern Oregon and Northern California and the State of Jefferson has been a long time wish of many of us here. I live in Etna Ca, Scott Valley here in the Red County of Siskiyou and Agriculture and Logging are still the Top Industries here
I was incapable of believing sentient beings would vote for William Jefferson Clinton when he ran for president, since he was so patently corrupt and deceitful. Having learned from experience, I now fear for our nation, as did Thomas Jefferson, that God is just and will inflict Gavin Newsom on the feckless citizens of our republic who cannot see the essential need to sustain the program of disinfection and restoration undertaken by President Trump. Should this tragedy befall our land, the fate of millions of citizens will mirror that of the folk in the California inland. And the light of freedom may well vanish from the Northern Hemisphere.
With new voters in the US registering as Republican and a majority of all minorities voting for Trump in 2024 there is hope. 77% voted for Trump. The vacuous airhead Kamel Harris has no support from most
Dems.
They’ve been talking about breaking up this monstrosity for at least two decades. And it’s overdue.
The area east of the 5 has nothing in common with the coast. Sacrademento just uses the eastern half of the state as revenue source.
We used to call it “Scat-ramento”
Democrats demand Israel give up part of their God given country to terrorists calling it a 2 state solution. But you just know they’ll howl like banshees even mentioning turning California into a 2 state solution. This is Constitutional and has been done before; Maine was once part of Massachusetts. Vermont was once part of both New York and New Hampshire.
Were I in-charge of a campaign against Newsom’s redistricting malfeasance I would follow the money. Not in a true-crime sense but just a list of Newsom backed projects that have run amuck, over budget or just plain defrauded taxpayers through through collusion and ineptitude.
The list, with its dollar costs should bury Newsom. His appointees and their bastions of bureaucracy would be a subset illustrating waste, fraud and gamesmanship that are also ruinous!
The damage done, the money squandered or outright stolen should quash Newsom’s gerrymandering.
I grew up in the Central Valley of CA but went to college on the coast. There is DEFINITELY a difference in attitude and mindset. Gerrymandering has ALREADY placed democrats in heavily Republican areas and it is obvious the damage it has done. They don’t care. ALL they care about is control. Knowing some of the people I know in the eastern half of CA, there just might be a “mutiny” ahead and if so, it is high time they stood up for themselves.
Separating California into two states has been floated before. I was in high school (the ’60s) the first time it was proposed. The problem then (and still) is that the LA Basin and San Diego, and to a lesser extent the SF Bay Area, have all the money and northern counties have all the food and resources. They sadly need each other. But they don’t communicate well, nor do they listen well. So SoCAL gets what it wants and the rest of us just deal with it. Don’t expect this to happen anytime soon.
AMERICANS used to solve problems TOGETHER!
WTF happened?
AMERICANS HAVE FOUND IT EASIER TO GO ALONG THAN TO GET ALONG
US DEPLORABLES AREN’T GOING ALONG TO GET ALONG!
