A half-dozen Iranian diplomats defected after the “Green Movement” protest in 2009; this time there will be many more. A senior Iranian diplomat posted to the United Nations’ European headquarters in Geneva has reportedly defected and applied for political asylum in Switzerland, according to diplomatic sources cited on Sunday by the Iranian opposition outlet Iran International.
The diplomat, Alireza Jiranieh Hokambad, served as a minister-counselor, the second-highest-ranking position in Iran’s UN delegation in Geneva.
According to the report, he left his post and submitted an asylum request for himself and his family, citing fears of persecution should he return to Iran.
Sources said Hokambad’s decision was driven by concerns over the ongoing political and social unrest in Iran, as well as doubts about the stability of the Islamic Republic’s governing structure. Swiss authorities have not yet issued an official response to the asylum application….
His defection is both an expression of deep disgust with the Iranian regime, and a vivid vote of no confidence in its survival. The supreme leader may have temporarily used mass murder to suppress the protesters, and many of those who had been protesting on the streets have retreated to their homes, but their hate for the regime does not disappear; they harbor it in their hearts, where it grows and grows.
Defections by Iranian diplomats during periods of domestic unrest are not without precedent. In the aftermath of Iran’s 2009 “Green Movement” protests, a number of senior diplomats posted in countries including Norway, Finland, Italy, and Belgium resigned and sought asylum, publicly condemning the Tehran government’s violent crackdown.

For mass murder of a vast horrendous carnage by that monstrously cruel despicable and vicious tyrant, Khamenei, and the other ayatollahs and the mullahs along with the other fiendish despots who are in power in that tyrannical Islamic regime of Iran, also have much blood guilt of the mass murder of so many innocent Iranians on their sinister hands.
Furthermore,, a woman interviewed by the Epoch Times 1/20/26. A1, didn’t give an isolated report such murderous atrocities committed by the “security forces’ against the Iranians people has been confirmed by many other Iranians and other sources.
The article reads” Nights in Tehran, Iran, are increasingly violent” an Iranian woman told that newspapers reporter, “She said the security forces often move through crowds on motorcycles firing indiscriminately. She said I n the morning she was bodies in public areas and bold on the streets.”
In addition, the article further reports, “the death resulted from coordinated operation carried out primarily by Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and Basij forces not from spontaneous clashes. Sources indicate that the operation was conducted under the direct orders from Ayatollah Khamenei.”
That wicked death –inflecting Khamenei and the other Islamic despots using their murdering criminals in uniform “security forces’ against the Iranian people who are justly and righteously revolting against that horrendously brutal cruel and deadly tyrannical Islamic regimes of Iran is outrageous and wrong.
Iranian people in the righteous quest for a genuine, legitimate government that respects and safeguard their basic human rights is a good worthy decent just very good cause.
Khamenei should resign
…good for him and his family I suppose…but until and unless he denounces the evil of Islam upon the world that Islam by its very nature imposes as a deceitful and violent cult may he stay out of America…Muslims do not assimilate and become a part of any non-Muslim country…but rather attempt to cultivate their cult to the extent that always eventually want to destroy all that are ‘infidels’ and all those who will not bow down to ‘Allah’ the nomadic eastern ‘Moon God’ that appears in reverence on their National Flags as the Crescent moon symbol…we already have Muslims in our country that have established ‘no=go zones’ for non-Muslims (such as Dearborn, Michigan) and have a strong presents in L.A., NYC and the state of Texas…potential future trouble spots…fore-told is fore-warned…
Correct, and I think Switzerland was crazy for allowing him into their country. He’ll probably start up trouble with fellow Muslims once he gets established in Switzerland.
Iranian diplomats currently defecting should be held in isolation for at least a year until they prove they aren’t moles.

He may be a Diplomat but he still wont be safe until he finds a place to hide for a while
Sounds like he’s okay with murder but not “mass” murder? It’s just a numbers game with people’s lives because he knows to return to an overthrown Iranian government is suicide.
