There is a common observation making the rounds on social media these days: “When people show (or tell) you who they are, believe them.”
On Friday, the House of Representatives passed bipartisan Resolution 719 honoring the life and work of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, who was assassinated on September 10 while speaking peacefully to a crowd at Utah Valley University. His (alleged) killer appears to be a Left-radicalized 22-year-old with a transgender romantic partner. Estranged from his MAGA-supporting family, the (alleged) shooter apparently believes, as does a shocking number of his comrades in the Democrat Party, that the cold-blooded murder of political opponents they deem to be “fascists” is morally justifiable self-defense.
The House voted 310-58 to pass the resolution, which noted rightly that Kirk was a “courageous American patriot” who aimed to “elevate truth.” It also condemned political violence and extended condolences to Kirk’s widow and young, fatherless children. The yea votes included all 215 voting Republicans and 95 Democrats, but does it come as a surprise to anyone that every one of the 58 naysayers is a Democrat? In addition to those 58, whose vote confirmed that they feel no compunction to denounce the unconscionable tactic of murdering one’s political opponents, another 38 Democrats voted merely “present” (meaning they claim to disapprove of the assassination but couldn’t bring themselves to endorse honoring its Republican victim), and 22 more did not vote on the resolution at all (purportedly either because of a scheduling conflict – which should never be an excuse; voting is their job, for God’s sake – or more likely because they opposed the resolution but didn’t have the balls to put themselves on the record).
So, yes, 95 Democrats approved the resolution, but many more – 108 – either openly opposed it or hedged their bets for whatever reason.
This is who the Left are. They are not, as they paint themselves, the party of compassion, tolerance, and inclusion. They reserve their compassion not for actual victims like Charlie’s wife and kids but for criminals, who they believe are society’s real victims – of systemic racism and capitalist exploitation. They tolerate and include only those who march in lockstep with their destructive ideology; those they exclude from their ranks are perceived to be existential threats who must be eradicated by any means necessary. We are deplorables, Nazis, white supremacists, fascists, haters, misogynists, Islamophobes – everything except human beings and fellow Americans, because we stand in the way of their singular lust for permanent political hegemony.
After the vote, the White House rapid response team wrote, “58 Democrats just voted against a simple resolution honoring the life and legacy of Charlie Kirk after his assassination last week. Disgraceful.”
It is more than merely disgraceful. It demonstrates that a sizeable percentage of the Democrat side of the House could not even summon the basic humanity to mourn the cruel murder of a fellow American, whose life was snuffed out because his political opinions did not align with progressive orthodoxy. Kirk was murdered by a sniper’s bullet not only because he dared to peacefully challenge the belief system of his opponents, but because many of those opponents were listening. He was opening up many previously closed minds, and the totalitarian Left – like Islam – cannot tolerate its members questioning the ideology and possibly turning apostate.
Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) blasted the Democrats who voted against the resolution, posting on X, “History won’t forget. Neither should we. These 58 Democrats voted against condemning Charlie Kirk’s assassination.” She proceeded to list the last names of all 58, who included the usual radical suspects such as James Clyburn, Maxine Waters, Jasmine Crockett, Al Green, and “Squad” members Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC), Rashida Tlaib, Ayanna Pressley, Ilhan Omar, Delia Ramirez, and Pramila Jayapal.
History won’t forget. Neither should we.

AOC, a woman who could very well be the next Democrat presidential nominee, even had the gall to send out, after voting no on the resolution, an email purporting to condemn Charlie’s “horrific assassination and the scourge of political violence” – a scourge for which her side of the political fence is entirely responsible – but at the same time urging her supporters, “We should be clear about who Charlie Kirk was,” a man whose beliefs and rhetoric “were ignorant and sought to disenfranchise millions.” This is a flat-out lie designed to dehumanize Charlie and the entire MAGA movement as bigoted threats to democracy. The end result is that the political violence and assassinations against American patriots will continue, if not intensify.
But by coddling, if not encouraging, political violence and exposing who they really are, the Left has made a fatal strategic misstep. It was shocking enough when President Trump narrowly and miraculously escaped assassination at the Butler, Pennsylvania rally a year ago; but the shooting of Charlie Kirk has triggered a seismic shift. His influence, as widespread as it was in life, is surging worldwide after his death. Millions here and abroad throughout the Western world are beginning to wake up and embrace his commonsense, conservative message promoting faith, family, and country. At the packed memorial for Charlie in Arizona today, attended by the President, Dr. Ben Carson urged, “Get onboard” with “the revival that is coming.” Trump adviser Stephen Miller declared, “You have no idea the dragon you awakened.”
Awakened dragon, indeed. As I have noted elsewhere, the Right didn’t want this civil war in which we are engaged, and we didn’t start it. But we are going to end it, and make America great again.

One of the most irrational postulates is that of the universe coming into existence by the big bang courtesy of Lemaitre asserting that the universe began from a single dense point he referred to as a dense, primeval atom and that the universe has been expanding ever since. How rational, however, what is the composition of an atom? It is composed of protons and neutrons, positive and negative charges and they are the fundamental building blocks of matter. But, where did these building blocks of matter come from? There had to be a first cause because however well positioned Lemaitre’s assumption,

In order for the universe to exist, it must have a first cause that is not created and that is G-d. That is mathematics and reflects the incredible complexity of the laws governing the created universe. Hardly the irrationality you so easily attribute to those of faith. I would suggest that “rationalists” like yourself and many atheistic cosmologists are, in rational fact, given to belief in assumptions that upon rational scrutiny evidence themselves as without the kind of scrupulous adherence to scientific inquiry required. Charlie Kirk had the energy to be on the road 200 days out of each year he spent building Turning Point USA. He had the ability raise money and turn young people to his way of thinking by being positive. The Christian message obviously resonates. Turning Point will continue to grow. The Objectivist message crashes and burns all the time.
