The Democrat Party has finally found a Ukrainian refugee they don’t care anything about.
By now, everyone who has an X account – as opposed to people who depend on network television propaganda for their news – has seen either the stomach-churning video footage or the terrifying still shots of the savage murder of a 23-year-old Ukrainian on a Charlotte, North Carolina light rail line by a career criminal.
The vicious, unprovoked stabbing of Iryna Zarutska actually occurred on August 22, 2025, but the rail car surveillance footage became available only a couple of days ago, igniting righteous fury across the nation – except among Democrat leaders and media elites, who predictably ignored the controversy entirely. I say “predictably” because the barbarian who stabbed the distracted Zarutska three times in the neck with a folding knife, and then left her to die as he walked away, is a 34-year-old black male, DeCarlos Brown Jr., who had a whopping rap sheet of 14 prior arrests.
Fourteen. How many times must a black male be arrested before progressive judges, prosecutors, police chiefs, and mayors are willing to deem him a threat to society? This toxic empathy for criminal elements has become a concern of the most serious order in America today. In this instance – and there are many others – the protection by progressive authorities of a member of their designated victimhood groups ended in one of the most brutal, senseless crimes on video, and everyone who has Iryna Zarutska’s blood on their hands for facilitating Brown’s destructive trail must be held accountable.
What the Left-wing media refuse to address is that the video footage shows Brown subsequently bragging in racial terms about his victim: “I got that white girl.” The Left can’t address this ugly reality because it demolishes multiple Democrat Narratives – that white supremacy is the nation’s greatest domestic threat, violent crime isn’t a serious issue in America, only whites commit hate crimes, the jails should be emptied and police defunded, etc.
And so they can only safely address it in terms of the Right’s response to the crime. Hence the Left-wing media, once they could no longer avoid reporting on the murder, fell back on the tried-and-true diversionary tactic of accusing Republicans of “pouncing,” in which they dismiss an inconvenient truth by blaming conservatives for making a big deal out of nothing. Axios, for example, grudgingly posted about the shocking crime with this headline: “Stabbing video fuels MAGA’s crime message.” Even CNN’s Van Jones, who on rare occasions has the independence of mind to critique his own party, claimed on a CNN panel that there was no evidence that Zarutska was attacked because she was white. “For Charlie Kirk to say, we know he did it because she’s white, when there’s no evidence of that. It’s just pure race mongering, hate mongering. It’s wrong.” Needless to say, for CNN propagandists to accuse anyone of race-mongering is the height of hypocrisy.
The crime and the Left’s willful blindness about it and about the elephant-in-the-room epidemic of black male violence even compelled President Donald Trump to weigh in, making a video address in which he rightly condemned Democrat pro-crime policies like catch-and-release and observed, “For far too long, Americans have been forced to put up with Democrat-run cities that set loose bloodthirsty, savage criminals that prey on innocent people.” He vowed to “Make America Safe Again.”
Imagine for a moment if the races in this incident had been reversed. Actually, you don’t have to imagine it. The instances in which blacks have been perceived to be victims of white “perpetrators” are legion: Trayvon Martin, Michael Brown, and George Floyd, to name just the most well-known, and what was the Left’s response each time? Explosive, nationwide outrage from race-mongering Democrat leaders and media hacks who exploited those deaths to sow chaos and fear, racial resentment and division, rioting and looting, the destruction of inner cities across the country and the extortion of corporate America.
When white male Daniel Penny restrained mentally unstable black male Jordan Neely, another career criminal, who was threatening fellow train passengers, Penny potentially prevented the sort of death Iryna Zarutska suffered. When Neely subsequently died from a combination of factors including synthetic marijuana use, the Left called for Penny’s head, claiming Neely was murdered because he was black.
Every American who isn’t wearing ideological blinders can see that DeCarlos Brown Jr. is an inveterate threat to public safety who should have been removed from the streets long before he accumulated 14 arrests, and that he viciously and intentionally murdered a white woman at least partially, if not entirely, out of racial animosity – by his own confession. Where are the Democrat leaders and media elites calling for his head?

From the very beginning we ALL knew “hate-crimes” legislation was pointed in solely one direction.
Example:
When lackluster Bush43 was governor, he was cowed into signing hate crimes legislation for Texas when a “white supremacist” spray painted a swastika on a black church.

He wasn’t prosecuted for the incident that demanded Bush43 sign that legislation, as his skin color wasn’t the targeted demographic.

He will not be prosecuted at all, most likely. He has schizophrenia and cannot form the requisite mental state (intent) to be prosecuted successfully. If he is committed to an institution, he will be put on meds that will greatly improve his symptoms, and reach the point of release back into society (“no longer a danger to himself or others.”)
The golden key for criminals is “I was crazy at the time of the offense, but I am just fine now.”
People with severe psychosis are notoriously non-compliant with their medications. They feel better and are released from psychiatric care / hospitalization. Once out, they see no benefit to their pills.
The few people who DO comply with their meds do so because they have enough intelligence to grasp a salient abstract thought — the meds are necessary to maintain good function, freedom and safety. Some demographics have an average IQ below the threshold of abstract thought (85) and belong to a community unlikely to help them maintain function. The only answer is lifetime institutionalization, but the law requires the “least restrictive environment” and meds restore enough function to mandate release.
His mother begged for help. Perhaps she or some other family member could be appointed his guardian after a declaration of non compos mentis. Then the chances of permanent institutionalization would be better.
How do we live together? Even though he was obviously insane, he could still articulate the white hatred many of his community have towards whites — the same hatred they routinely teach their children. Not all, but it seems perhaps a majority have anti-white animus.
The worst part of the video is to me the moments AFTER the stabbing. No less than 5 black people, adjacent to and behind her, witness the attacks upon her. NOT A SINGLE ONE OF THEM, and no other person on the train, tries to help or comfort her as she spends her last moments, in shock, still sitting in her seat, bleeding out. Instead, the video shows three of the blacks nearest her, who observed the stabbing, getting up and walking away from her, following her killer to another part of the car.
We just cannot live together.

I know he had a schizophrenia diagnosis, and he had recently called 911 to say the government-installed materials in his body were making him do bad things (classic paranoid schizophrenia).
Mental illness is a defense, but it must be proved by the defendant. The government must show he had enough function to know what he was doing (stabbing her) and intended to do it. His spontaneous assertions are very damning. You can hear him twice on the video exclaim triumphantly, “I got that white girl.”
The classic law school case teaching this concept involved man who choked his wife to death, but evaded conviction by asserting a mental illness defense. He thought he was squeezing lemons when he choked his wife, and intended to make lemonade.

There was a black male – I write male because he isn’t a man – who was sitting behind her who got up and walked away after he saw that black monster stab Iryna Zarutska 3 times and she was in her seat in shock and dying, probably from blood loss. A black female sitting next to her looked at Iryna dying and got up and walked away. NOBODY who saw the stabbing tried to help her, particularly the black witnesses who callously abandoned her out of what was clearly anti-white hatred, which is common among gutter blacks. You can bet any decent black person would’ve tried to help her. Nobody who sat behind her tried to staunch the flow of blood.

Being from Ukraine Iryna Zarutska probably didn’t have the “bruthah awareness gene”. Not exactly a lot of them in Ukraine. There should be a course in what not to do in an America city.
No 1: Be aware of your surroundings.
No.2: If you see one coming in your direction, cross the street.
No 3: Don’t sit near one of the bruthahs on public transportation.

I lived and worked in Charlotte for 15 years and still have friends there. A relative kept my wife and I informed of the rising crime rate. Places we used to frequent had become off limits due to the crime.
