In Spain, Illegal Migrants Need Only Declare They Have No Criminal Record

The madness goes on and on. In socialist Spain, the government of Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez has come up with a novel way to investigate the criminal histories of illegal migrants. It asks them. That’s right: each migrant is asked if he has a criminal history in his country of origin. If he says “no,” that is the end of the matter. No further probing need take place. If this sounds like madness, it is because it is madness. The socialist Spanish government’s amnesty scheme will allow illegal migrants to simply declare that they have no criminal record, rather than providing documentation from their native countries, sparking concern over criminals gaming the system.

Last month, the left-wing coalition government of Socialist PM Pedro Sánchez agreed to allow upwards of half a million illegals seek amnesty and obtain residence permits to remain in Spain.

While the scheme stipulates that amnesty will not apply to migrants with criminal records — other than the crime of entering Spain illegally — the regularisation decree published by the government this week revealed that Madrid will essentially be willing to take the word of illegal migrants about their past.

According to the ABC newspaper, an illegal will be able to make such a declaration if they can show that they have merely requested their criminal history from their country of origin or the country where they have resided in the past five years.

“If this information is not received within one month, the Administration will inform the interested party of this circumstance, who may submit a sworn statement of the absence of a criminal record,” the decree states.

In other words, if the illegal’s country of origin does not send a statement about his criminal history, or lack of it, within one month, then the Spanish government will be satisfied if the migrant makes a sworn statement that he has no criminal record. And it is known that governments almost never take as little as a month to produce such records. What migrant with a criminal record would choose to reveal it? This policy is madness on stilts.

Law enforcement sources told the paper that the system is bound to drive up migrant crime rates.

“Let’s not fool ourselves; if this information were requested from Spain by a third party, it would normally take us more than a month,” a police insider said. “The countries of origin aren’t going to have any special interest in cooperating… and that’s just talking about criminal records, not police records when there are many crimes that never go to trial, neither here nor abroad.”…

Look at the situation from the viewpoint of these illegals’ countries of origin. They are delighted to be rid of those who do have criminal records. They are perfectly willing to let Spain (and other European countries) take them instead. And so those countries will not send, or will deliberately delay sending for more than a month, information about their criminal records, for then Spain would reject them, and they would likely have to return to those countries. And quite sensibly, they don’t want them back.

Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, who lost the last election but remained in power after siding with Catalan separatists, has argued that the West must import more migrants to maintain its economies and public services.

But why should those migrants be Muslims, who carry in their mental baggage the belief that Infidels are, as the Qur’an says, ‘the most vile of created beings”? Why must more Muslims be allowed into Europe, when all the evidence suggests that the large-scale presence of Muslims in Europe has created a situation for its indigenous non-Muslims that is far more unpleasant, expensive, and dangerous than would be the case without that large-scale presence?

There are many millions of non-Muslims — Catholics in Latin America and the Philippines, Hindus in India, Buddhists in Thailand and Vietnam, Christians of every denomination in sub-Saharan Africa and in the Caribbean — who could be brought to Europe to work should the need arise. None of these people harbor hate for Europeans the way Muslims do.

However, the far-left Podemos party, with which he partnered to pass the amnesty programme, was more candid about their motivations, with Member of the European Parliament Irene Montero openly declaring that she wishes to “replace” her countrymen with foreigners.

“I wish for replacement theory, I wish we could sweep this country of fascists and racists with migrants, with working people,” she said last week. “Of course, I want there to be replacement: replacement of fascists, replacement of racists, replacement of freeloaders, and that we can do it with working people, whatever their skin colour may be.”

Here’s a Spanish madwoman of the far-left Podemos Party, Irene Montero, who is consumed with hatred for those she calls “fascists” and “racists” — meaning those who want to prevent the Muslim migrant invaders from taking over — and hopes that Muslims will “replace” them. She provides a gleeful statement in support of “the Great Replacement.” And in providing mass amnesty to half a million illegal migrants — and potentially, to two million illegal migrants who might arrive from elsewhere in Europe to take advantage of Spain’s amnesty program — the government of Pedro Sanchez is doing its bit to bring about the same horrifying result.
