Order Robert Spencer’s new book, Holy Hell: Islam’s Abuse of Women and the Infidels Who Enable It: HERE.
When the Iranian people rose up against their oppressors in 2009, Barack Obama looked the other way. When the Iranian people rose up against their oppressors in 2022, Old Joe Biden sent their oppressors billions of dollars. But Donald Trump was different.
On January 2, Trump wrote: “If Iran shots and violently kills peaceful protesters, which is their custom, the United States of America will come to their rescue. We are locked and loaded and ready to go. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DONALD J.TRUMP.”
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps and other entities set about killing peaceful protesters with impunity, whereupon Trump wrote on January 13: “Iranian Patriots, KEEP PROTESTING – TAKE OVER YOUR INSTITUTIONS!!! Save the names of the killers and abusers. They will pay a big price. I have cancelled all meetings with Iranian Officials until the senseless killing of protesters STOPS. HELP IS ON ITS WAY. MIGA!!! PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP.”
The Iranian people trusted him. They kept protesting, even as the inhuman guardians of the Islamic Republic mowed them down in ever-increasing numbers, as many as 20,000. They renamed streets after him. They knew that he would send the help he promised. They knew he would help them see the end of the bloodthirsty and demonic regime that has murdered so very many Iranians since 1979. They knew they finally had someone who heard their cries. Someone they could count on.
Yet by Wednesday afternoon, something had changed. Trump said: “We have been told that the killing in Iran is stopping, it’s stopped, it is stopping. And, uh, there’s no plan for executions, or ex— an execution, or executions. So I’ve been told that on good authority, we’ll find out about it.”
There was no reason to believe this, and it was unclear whether or not Trump himself believed it. The Islamic Republic is built on terror and preserves itself through terror, for as an Islamic government, it follows the Qur’an’s guidance for how to deal with its opponents: “strike terror in the enemies of Allah” (8:60). The Islamic Republic will keep killing protesters as long as there is an Islamic Republic.
And despite Trump’s odd statement on Wednesday afternoon, that evening it looked as if the Islamic Republic was finally reaching its end. The mullahs cleared Iranian airspace in anticipation of an attack. The Iranian protesters envisioned the hour of their liberation. The world held its breath.
And the evening and the morning passed, and there was nothing. The Islamic Republic remained in place. Iranian airspace reopened. The mullahs breathed a sigh of relief.
On Thursday morning, Trump attempted a note of triumph: “FoxNews: ‘Iranian protester will no longer be sentenced to death after President Trump’s warnings. Likewise others.’ This is good news. Hopefully, it will continue!”
Unless this is a strategic feint, as many have claimed, and the promised attack is still in the works, apparently the Islamic Republic will continue as well, hiding its murders behind closed doors instead of parading them before the world. Trump’s promise of help has so far proven hollow. His encouragement of the protesters only ended up getting 20,000 of them killed.
Even worse, there are reports that Trump called off an attack at the last minute at the behest of Turkey, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia, three Sunni states that have long counted the Shi’ite Islamic Republic of Iran as an enemy, but whose solicitude for the well-being of the United States should not be taken for granted.
On Thursday, Reza Amiri Moghadam, the Islamic Republic of Iran’s ambassador to Pakistan, said that Trump had told the Iranian government that the United States would not attack Iran.
If that proves to be true, and no attack comes, Trump’s promise of help to the protesters, and his exhortation to them to take to the streets, will stand as one of the most craven betrayals in world history. It will also have consequences far beyond the continuing existence of the malignant regime in Tehran. If no attack comes, Trump will have finally handed his opponents a weapon they can use to do him in.
After trying to frame Trump for crimes he didn’t commit, and after even trying to kill him, the leftists to whose plans and agenda Trump has done so much damage will be able to point to his promises to the Iranian people and say simply that Trump cannot be trusted. He is a man of empty words. And in this case, his empty threats led to the murder of 20,000 people.
Trump may have just given his enemies, whose evil endeavors he rolled back in so many areas, the weapon they need finally to do him in, and his movement as well. Trump’s empty threats could result in the final victory in the United States of the socialist internationalist authoritarians whose plan to turn the country into an open-borders socialist hellhole Trump has countered so comprehensively. In the end, he may not have betrayed the Iranians only.

It’s far too late , after all that brutal cruel vast terrible and outrageous number of dealbated vicious murders and unjust arrests torture and killing of patriotic Iranians those despots of the oppressive vicious despots in power in Iran along with their Islam tyrannical need to be eliminated , once and for all..
Those tyrants and thugs in uniform should ne be able to escape justice for the many horr4endeous evils that they , repeatedly commit.
It is true that Iran needs regime change, but there are two good reasons why it isn’t as simple as this article implies. Venezuela is in our hemisphere, and there was a need to protect our public. Additionally, it was easier to access the leaders in Venezuela than it was in Iran. To do the job of a complete regime change it would take an act of Congress to declare war on Iran. Look at how many politicians and the public whined about capturing Maduro, even though we had a warrant for his arrest, vs. none for Iran leaders. Even if we pull off getting the head of the snake in Iran, there will be an instant replacement for him.
It should be too late those despots of that Islamic regime have alreadly had far too many protesters murderd Those should not be allowed to remain in power They should not allow to have impunity from the vast number homicides they ordered .. They and their Islamic tyrannical regime need to be overthrown and destroyed
For that horrendously malicious and murderous tyrannical Islamic regime of Iran is 100% pure evil.
Many times over that terrorist state of Iran, which started during the year 1979 it is a brutal cruel death inflecting machine. Now it proved that it is s not a genuine government but an unconscionable despotic regime of horrific wickedness.
And American Trump supporters are circling the wagons protecting him in what is a horrific betrayal of not only the Iranian people but also the world.!
He’s far more compromised because of his business interests in Qatar and the inked agreements he’s made with both Qatar and Saudi Arabia with America. The MAGA crowd is beginning to sound like they cannot evaluate him at all as if doing so is disloyal.
There is plenty of evidence he is compromised in ways that he is protecting Qatar and the Saudis while excoriating the trust of the people in Iran who have trusted him to make good on his promises.
His reticence to attack Iran seems more about fear of Iran becoming a free people and the impact of them creating a democracy, leaving Islamic tyranny and violence behind, that will absolutely have great geopolitical and subsequent economic impact in the Middle East and beyond given all of its natural resources and a people passionate about freedom. Ridding the world of Iran as a terror state and being without Islam’s treachery.and choke collar. Iran has a history of highly educated, culturally sophisticated people who will achieve great things and that would definitely dwarf the power of nations he’s climbed into bed with for both personal business deals (Qatar) and those he’s initiated with these two fundamentalist Islamic nations gaining additional access within America clearly compromising the security of the United States.
Calling out his betrayal is warranted and MAGA should take off the blinders and start paying attention!!!
Oh baloney. Trump fears “Iran becoming free”? Lol. I’m also unhappy with this outcome, but how many Americans do you think would support engaging in another war in the Middle East, hmmmm? How about virtually zero? Mr. Spencer doesn’t seem to think that matters either. This is reality.
Yes, really. Why did he interrupt Israel’s campaign against Iran? We know bombs that Trump dropped did not completely wipe out their nuclear ambitions and Israel wanted to complete phase 2 of this campaign which Trump told Israel to stop. Why? His threats against Hamas were just bluster and Hamas violated the cease fire and still played games with the hostages release as well as the mandate that Hamas disarm which they still have not done.
So spare me your vitriol and look further than your backyard.
The Middle East has already assessed him as being easily played and Qatar, Hamas, Iran and the Saudi’s can attest to that.
Blind loyalty is dangerous please open your eyes; he’s a President not a savior!!
Sounds like you would prefer the Biden Obama approach. As I said the other day, Sounds like you voted Democrat.
Hey Gabby. You sound all toughy-tough. Why don’t you get all of your little friends together and go in guns-a-blazing. Bring in enough ammo. I think a few nine MM Rounds should do the job from that Sig P 365
Maybe next time you can vote for Biden again. Or write in Obama’s name.
I voted three times for Trump partially because he wasn’t Biden.
There are numerous simultaneous issues in at the same time.
At this point, the Republicans are going to lose the house and probably the Senate. He will be impeached but the Senate won’t have the votes in the end I don’t believe. If so, it will be Vance and they will do likewise.
Trump is correct about Greenland but few know why.
Trump is correct about Canada but even they are too ignorant to understand Carney and China deal.
Maduro and Venezuela should have been done very early if Dominion Software is truly an issue.
Israel and Hamas will NEVER be fixed.
AOC is presently leading Vance in 2028 matchup. She won’t run against Schumer but will as president. She WILL win if folks don’t get their heads out of their butts soon as the young have no concept except what their teachers have told them for 16 years. They will be voting age in 2028.
Fraud, waste and abuse is real but Americans have been living off it in EVERY sector of American life since Bush’s read my lips pledge gone wrong.
America is being sclqueezed from without and within. The only way to stop this is not Miller talking about taking over Greenland (as much as he’s correct in theory) but by convincing Americans with an articulate messenger and messenger and action against internal treason.
Otherwise, were done in 2026 not 2028.
Americans didn’t want to engage in another war in Europe. Look what happened. Left alone, the mullahs will go right back to doing what they have been doing since 1979 – getting stronger. They still want to destroy Israel, take over the Middle East and exert their influence internationally at the West’s expense, and export Islam all over the world. There are times to act, smartly, but act despite polls that show the left’s malign influence with terminology such as “no war for oil, “no more ‘forever wars'” (we’re presently in one with Iran and the jihad. This lack of action by Trump, whom I’ve voted for 3x, will embolden Iran, jihadis around the world, the anti-American Left that is trying to dismantle the United States, and our enemies around the world. If President Trump wasn’t going to do anything, he should have spoken in more measured tones. Disappointment doesn’t begin to describe the feeling I have over this chickening out. He handed a cudgel to all the wrong people, including some bad actors in, and close to, his administration.
Iran is not Iraq.
No, we certainly are not. Don’t generalize because you wish to whine. This is devastating to everyone I talk to. I was already disenchanted with woke right, Vance, White House meetings with Mamdani, Julani, and the family friendship with. Carlson, all actions in Gaza especially saving Hamas, and ties to Qatar, as well as his bizarrely incompetent envoys.
But contributing to mass murder then brushing it off with a lame excuse, that’s a whole new level. .
Sounds like you would prefer the Biden Obama approach. As I said the other day, Sounds like you voted Democrat.
If you cannot address the facts and your responses are to insult someone, you need to be better informed or make a far more articulate case for Trump because he is being judged by his words and actions and the impact upon other nations and their people.
Clearly, you have a very limited understanding of the middle eastern mind set and how Hamas and now Iran are mocking him.
His rhetoric is allowing people in Iran to be murdered after publicly pledging to help them. He’s being judged on what he is saying and doing for which he is accountable and insulting those calling this out simply makes you appear weak and unwilling to rationally evaluate what he is doing!
Oh Gee. You don’t like to be insulted. What a surprise. OK just go in with your fake army. And get yourself killed because he doesn’t listen to you.
I don’t think we will be seeing you on the frontline anytime soon.
There was an article elsewhere that said that the Arab states want Iran to remain economically weak and under sanction, so that their own profits are not compromised. This sounds a credible reason, if there has indeed been some sort of Arab intervention. Islamic countries are quite ruthless at sacrificing one another.
You’re full of crap. President Trump’s decision making is not on your (the Great Gabrielle’s) timeline. If you want to call someone a traitor, give that name to Jimmy Carter who helped bring this Islamic government about in the first place or Joe Biden and Kamala Harris who allowed thousands of terror cells to be set up in this country with their lax immigration policies. If you want to engage in a war in Iran, fly your lying liberal ass over their and join their military.
An interesting piece from Mr. Spencer with whom I usually agree.
It’s hard to disagree that Trump misspoke about coming to the aid of Iranian protestors, whatever that “aid” implied. Nevertheless, it seems rather hyperbolic to state, as Mr. Spencer does above, that Trump’s empty promise led to the “murder of 20,000 people.” Should one conclude that the Iranians blindly believed that Trump would come to their rescue at the risk of creating a more volatile situation in the MIddle East than currently exists by launching an attack on their nation? At the end of the day, the protesters’ choice to take to the streets was their own. The situation in Iran is tragic and one hopes for the leadership change that is desperately needed. Nevertheless, blaming Trump’s “craven” remarks for the killing of thousands is not helpful in the long run, neither at home or abroad.
Vis a vis the opposition here at home, it’s a fact that the Democrats will use Trump’s words to the Iranians against him, just like they use everything he says, does, or doesn’t do against him just like they railed against his attack on the Iranian nuclear facilities.
So far, shades of the 1956 Hungarian Revolution.
Was just about to say.
Bawww Bawww Bawww is the sound the goat made every morning for me to milk it. That was a long time ago.
I hear that sound in my memory again reading this armchair quarterbacking article about President Trump.
What President Trump is very careful on is not sending in American troops for another Iraq, Afghanistan or Vietnam.
What the deep state would like nothing more than to force the hand of an American POTUS, especially President Trump.
I caution this, do not play 3D Global Chess with President Trump. You will be trounced and defeated and humiliated. President Trump does not back down and shy away from humiliating losers and fools.
This IS the Art of the Deal.
Pray for the Iranian people and they will prevail. And where are the globalist one world order deep staters to assist the Iranian citizens?
Of course if I was an Iranian citizen in Iran and I was emboldened by President Trump and put it out there, I would be looking behind my back to see who has my back It’s tough.
President Trump has done more for Iran since 1979 than any other POTUS or global leader.
Both the NYTs and Arutz Sheva say that it was Bibi, either backing of certain Arab states, who convinced Trump to back off attacking Iran.
Which raises the question of whether Iran threatened to attack Israel, if the US attacked the regime.
This is an incredibly difficult decision for Trump. There is no easy answer. It is comparable to a hostage situation, in which the police have to show restraint to keep the hostages alive. They cannot just go in with guns blazing. If Trump is too aggressive, there could be huge collateral damage or, worse yet, millions gunned down in cold blood. I don’t know the answer, but I pray for divine guidance for the decision makers.
Th answer is to collaborate with Mossad and let them take the lead on dealing with the Iranian regime officials. The only reason those Iranians regime officials are still alive is because the US keeps interfering.
All IS being REVEALED! N.C.S.W.I.C., W.W.G.1W.G.A., and P.A.N.I.C. Watch the Water! President Trump, Sir, the Global Cabal MUST BE ERADICATED from our Earth 🌎 by any means necessary. Git r Dun! God help us Sinners, Amen.
What comes next is impossible to know. I think this article is premature. What are the realistic options available to the United States.
Michael Ledeen used to suggest that the US could somehow overthrow the Iranian regime through some kind of covert strategy. While I liked the sentiment, I thought it underestimated the grip that the Mullahs had on the people of Iran. In this case, so far the security forces in Iran have remained loyal. That seems to be the key.
I think virtually everyone in the west would like to see the theocratic tyranny in Iran overthrown and replaced by a west friendly secular democratic state. A substantial portion of the Iranian people would like to see that as well. I certainly think Trump shares this sentiment. The problem is finding a viable way forward.
The sad lesson from the US interventions in Iraq and Afghanistan is that it is not so easy to bring about meaningful change in foreign countries. What is terribly depressing in the current situation in Iran is that the good guys may simply not have enough strength on their side to overthrow the Mullahs rule.
At this point it seems that moving military assets into the region and saying that all options are on the table may limit the damage that the Mullahs can do to their population but it is unlikely to overthrow the regime. Perhaps that is all that we can do.
Thank you, Mr. Spencer, for saying what needs to be said. So far, Trump seems to be following the same script he did with Hamas. Lots of bluster and threats with no follow through. In some ways, it’s even worse that simply saying nothing for all the reasons you already note. Conservatives need to stop the the 3-D chess and it’s all just a trick because just wait and see, and wake up to realize what has unfolded. Trump has changed for reasons that no one can know, and the reasons don’t matter. But it’s shocking to witness. Sometimes it feels like the curtain being pulled back in the Wizard of Oz.
Agree with your comment!
Trump has enthused supporters here and I get.that. I do.
I was one. But I have been horrified regarding everything to do with Qatar, Iran’s proxies, Hamas, and others, and Trump’s delusional plan for Gaza.
The down votes say “Trump is my hero, I need a hero so I trust Trump”
It’s so facile to blame Trump for everything. Imagine the uproar if he took military action (as in dropping bombs) on Iran’s military sites or infrastrucure, bringing more death and destruction to Iran and the likely retaliation of our adversaries against us? Those yelping about Trump’s “betrayal” of Iran today would be the FIRST to condemn him for disadvantageous consequences of any military action he might take against Iran. But the above scenario is irrelevant since Congress would be unlikely to approve any such action, and rightfully so. America does not want to kick off another war; we are not living in the Land of Oz.
Just saw a short clip from this morning where Trump confirmed he decided not to strike Iran based on his own thoughts, not any other influence, touting how Iran “cancelled the hangings.” Has he lost his freaking mind??? Meanwhile his poll numbers are slipping on immigration as Homan urges him to get out in front of how ICE is being framed in the media and the economy continues to falter as Trump remains attached to damaging tariffs. 2026 is going to be a disaster for us and for all the good that Trump has done since he was elected in 2016, it’s hard not to realize he is faltering badly.
May G-d watch over the Iranian people who seem to have been abandoned by Trump, and my G-d save us all.
Trump is not Moses, nor does he pretend to be. Yes, may God save us all in these dangerous days of radical Islam.
The Iranian people will need to fight for their own freedom. Trump should not have promised anything.
WHY ISN’T ANYONE ASKING WHERE THE UN PEACE KEEPERS ARE?
The establishment is stitching up Trump.
I seem to recall reading that a session of the UN Security Council was to be convened, but then heard nothing more. Did it happen? Was there an expectation of some unanimity that failed to materialise, possibly due to the Organisation of Islamic Co-operation?
Trump sure knows how to use his mouth to frick things up.
Remember the Canadian election where the conservative candidate was doing well until Trump threatened to annex Canada?
Remember when Trump said the Constitution should be ended so he can be put back in power right before the Georgia runoff? The media ran with it in the days leading up to the runoff possibly cinching the Dem win.
His mouth is a lethal weapon. He gives the media a constant stream of ammo to throw at him. The Left vs Right media each have their own take to create bias for or against. On conservative talk radio they spin, quickly change topic, or never mention. Sadly Iran is just one more log on the fire.
JD Vance lobbied against the attack. He will always be against any action that would benefit Israel.
IF Trump has caved to the Regime, especially after all his blustering to the Iranian Patriots, then he has handed the USA to the democrats for the next decade.
Please go ahead and explain the result if he had used military action against the Iranian regime. Everything would have been hunky dory, right? Democrats would be the first to condemn such action and the media would be full throttle anti Trump/GOP everything 27/7: Democrats win.
I’ve noticed that Trump is the president of America, not Iran. If Iranians want freedom they will have to get it for themselves, just like we did. A bunch of them will die trying, just like we did in America.
We can always count on Robert Spencer to tell the truth. He is not inhibited from truth by an overlay of loyalty to the Democrats, Republicans, or any individual. He sees that the time for action came…and passed.. After capturing Maduro, Trump probably was avoiding accusations of anointing himself president of the world. However as Spencer says, his reticence to act may be the reason for the unnecessary sacrifice of 20,000 lives.
If they are French, their mode is run, hide or surrender.
YO, DON, YOU ARE A MAN OF YOUR WORD, RIGHT?
I’d quote the French, “It was more than a crime, it was a fault…”
Hold on here, folks. Based on Trump’s rhetoric when he had Fordow bombed, this could be a deliberate obfuscation/head fake. Remember that he said he was giving Iran 60 days [or some amount of time- I forget the exact number]. Then he bombed Iran when they weren’t expecting it.
The Abraham Lincoln aircraft strike group is moving towards Iran now and it will take a few more days to get there. Don’t forget that Iran has a lot of missiles, and could cause great damage to both Israel and US bases throughout the middle east. This is not like the Fordow situation where it was “one and done”. This could easily erupt into something very nasty with a lot of damage to the U.S. forces and to Israel. The U.S. needs to be judicious and make sure they have a LOT of firepower available when the shootin’ starts. The Aircraft carrier group will give the US a lot more capabilty if and when this goes Kinetic.
I’ve read all the comments here and the majority have condemned President Trump. You who have
condemned Trump have short memories. Trump has closed our borders arresting and kicking out
thousands and thousands of illegal murderers, rapists, thieves. Picked up Maduro and is cleaning up
Venezuela. Taken away Iran’s nuclear war capabilities. I could go on-I hope you get the point. I trust
Trump to finish the job.
Whilst I would not compare President Trump with Jesus, I was reminded of the story of the raising of Lazarus, where Jesus waited to go to the help of Mary, Martha and Lazarus until it was too late to heal him – because He intended resurrecting him. There could still be something in the pipeline.
I hope pray that you are right. As they say he might have something up his sleeve.
The main problem to solve is how to disrupt and destroy the IRGC. They’re too fanatical to buy off. Without an answer to that, Trump has no path to regime change.
Any assessment of Trump’s actions must begin with the fact that he has a lot of money invested with the Qataris. This means he is not going do anything the Qataris don’t like. This is a conflict of interest. It would be grounds for impeachment. He is not being impeached for it because a) the leftists are also in Qatar’s pocket and b) conservatives are rightly afraid of the alternatives presently available.
He may still have visions of himself as a white knight, which may have prompted him to promise help to the insurgents. As some have pointed out, he did not have to make that promise. But by doing so, he pledged America’s honor, and Mr. Spencer’s characterization decision not to act as a “great betrayal” is unfortunately apt.
Of course, there were risks. But there is a time for prudent calculation and a moment for doing what has to be done regardless. Neither the United States nor Israel would have been founded without leaders who recognized such moments. Trump is not such a leader.
Conservatives should stop making excuses for Trump and put their efforts into finding and building up a leader who can be trusted.
Quatar, Saudi Arabia and a few other Middle Eastern Countries have ASKED TRUMP not to attack IRAN AND I believe it was an ULTIMATUM.
I BELIEVE TRUMP’S 1ST JOB IS TO KEEP AMERICA(NS) SAFE and maybe Trump spoke before he was advised to stand down. I do not fault Trump for this. HE IS NOT A POLITICIAN and we all know the majority of Politicians are slick, slimy, and deceiving, which Trump is not. HIS POLICIES ARE SOUND AND STRATEGICALLY GOOD FOR AMERICA(NS) AND OUR POWER ALL OVER THE WORLD, WHICH MAKES AMERICA WHO SHE IS…..GREAT.
GIVE THE PRESIDENT A BREAK. HE IS SURROUNDED BY WOLVES AT THE DOOR. HE IS NOT OUR SAVIOR.
JESUS CHRIST IS OUR SAVIOR. So, try to understand the STAKES he has to weigh with all the wolves at the door, and with all the Countries who DO have nukes and could attack the USA if he does go into IRAN.
MY HOPE AND PRAYER IS THAT PRESIDENT TRUMP DID TO IRAN AS HE DID WITH VENEZUELA, THAT HE IS SNEAKING SEAL TEAMS INTO IRAN WITH TONS OF GUNS, BULLETS AND OTHER EQUIPMENT TO GIVE TO THE IRANIAN PEOPLE, WHO CAN THEN, FIGHT FOR THEMSELVES FAIRLY……AGAINST THE IRANIAN REGIME.
THINK PEOPLE STRATEGICALLY AND WITH WISDOM, WHICH IS WHAT GOD WANTS YOU TO DO, BUT SATAN DOES NOT WILL YOU FOLLOW WISDOM OR STUPIDITY?.
President Trump is just following the grand tradition of former presidents making United States the premier Indian Giver nation of the world. Trump promises the Iranian protestors who are being slaughtered that ‘help is on the way’ and then he conveniently finds an off-ramp, allowing him to weasel out of his verbal commitment. The Islamic regime states it won’t publicly execute protestors, whom they’ve labeled as enemies of God. Trump then massages away his pledge to the protestors because although they’re still being fired upon with bullets and are being murdered at least the Islamic regime has vowed not to publicly execute them.
American politicians love to use verbal gymnastics in order to whitewash their initial promises to foreign governments regarding verbal commitments to international geopolitical situations. Look at James Baker who gave verbal assurances to Gorbachev (post Warsaw Pact dissolution) that United States would not seek to expand NATO even 1 inch east of Germany. But then the U.S. government explained later, well…our verbal word is not our bond because you know, Mr. Baker was just talking for himself. The federal government never signed an agreement to such a pledge, so Mr. Gorbachev – you can go suck it!
Look at President Trump’s symbolic one-off attack in Nigeria, this was result of his pledge to help Christians who are being killed by Muslims. This attack was the only way for Trump to save face but this attack was little less than a public relations stunt. Since then nothing has changed for Christians not only in Nigeria but for those living in Sudan and Chad too. So it should come as no surprise that President Trump is doing his part to maintain United States government’s reputation as a dishonest broker and an Indian Giver to foreign governments and non-Americans in dire need of assistance.
muslims know weakness when you threaten and dont do . the don has failed on this one . you cant say and not do . get israel to do , they will also do what they havent said . if you take out maduro because you said you would do the same in iran . america will be a laughing stock when threats are not carried out . moreso in the M.E.
The situation is complex as well as fast-moving, yet muddled also by domestic events. Mr. Trump jumped the shark with his words, promising help without having all the military/naval assets in place to back himself up. Reportedly some of the DOD top military brass were telling him that our forces in the region would need more prep time before any military action could be launched. And oh, by the way, now we have to get a carrier task group back to the neighborhood as well. So why has not there been one there all along, and was there not one present last spring/summer when the joint U.S./Israeli effort to destroy Iran’s nuclear and missile assets was undertaken? If so, why was it evidently not replaced in due time? Well, by the time whatever carrier group arrives on station, the Iranian revolt will likely have been quelled or simmered down, and how will the U.S. launch any attack then?
Up until this month, I thought Mr. Trump & Co. was being effective in many of its efforts. But since the first of the year, I am beginning to wonder. Not only regarding Iran, but also the situation in Minneapolis, where ICE has been cornered into just flailing about. It is a matter of timing as well as will. Having made a promise to the Iranian people that ‘help is coming’, now either it has to, or they—-and many others—-will conclude he cannot be depended on. He’s put himself between a rock and a hard place, now.
