In the mid to late 1980s, I spent 3 months in Pakistan as a contractor at a site just outside of Karachi. It was like stepping back 500 years in time. Something as simple as a flashlight was like magic to the natives and the concept of toilet paper and what it was used for was perplexing to them.to say the least!
