What if Rep. Eric Swalwell was actually the least crazy candidate in the California gubernatorial election? There was the Chinese espionage and the alleged rapes. But here’s the race now.
A SurveyUSA poll released Tuesday, April 14, shows Democratic candidate Tom Steyer leading with 21% of likely voters and Republican candidate Steve Hilton three percentage points behind at 18%,
This poll predates Swalwell officially leaving the race, so there’s still more Dem voters to divide up.
Steyer, a billionaire with the charm of an even more confused Bloomberg, keeps running for things without any apparent basis, but he decided that he can win in California by going as far left as possible.
It might work for him at that.
His current bold proposal is for a civil war.
It’s not enough for Democrats to simply engage in rhetoric, and “stand” against ICE or Trump. California must build a system that fights fire with fire. To stop this authoritarian takeover, we must counter ICE head-on, and go after both their agents on the streets and their leadership within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). How do we do this? The same way we took on the mob. Put ICE agents and their leadership in jail for their crimes, because that’s how you take on a violent extremist group and win
Second, I will give the state Attorney General the authority to hold ICE’s leadership accountable for violence. My plan will pursue supervisory liability. This body of law empowers the California justice system to criminally prosecute and imprison not just the ICE agents who are committing these crimes, but the leadership directing them to do so.
Open borders Democrats keep toeing closer to the edge of a civil war. A gubernatorial candidate declaring that he’s going to arrest federal law enforcement personnel and leadership is one approach.
The next phase of the plan can call for shelling federal buildings.
It worked great in the South. It’ll work out well for Southern California.
For all the big talk though, the FBI regularly keeps raiding and arresting chunks of California’s political elite, including Newsom’s former chief-of-staff. If there were more competent U.S. Attorneys in the state, the whole operation could be treated like a mafia and broken up.
States can’t prosecute federal law enforcement for doing its job. The feds can absolutely prosecute corruption.
His (Steyer’s) current bold proposal is for a civil war. Why not, he’s already funding it.
Would Steyer be willing to be a “soldier in his demonrat cause to fight in this civil war?” I wouldn’t expect so.
He will pay other idiots to die for him. Just like in Minnesota
Steyer should be reminded that there are two sides in a war. What he proposes sounds like the losing side.

Unfortunately, the democrats are entirely in control of the courts and administrative apparatus in California, so they can do whatever they want. A U.S. Grant type operation that was conducted against the KKK post war might be the only option.

Daniel is absolutely correct here, but we need to remember that Steyer is not alone. His entire party has been inching toward this position for some time, and other Democratic state officials have been threatening (even promising) to use state authority to prosecute federal officials, even Donald Trump, for the imaginary crime of enforcing federal law. See, e.g., the mayors of Denver and Seattle, Illinois Gov. Pritzker, various Soros DAs, etc.
Republicans at all levels need to take these threats seriously and respond forcefully, something they should have been doing when the Democrats first attempted to imprison Trump for the artificial “crimes” they invented.
I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again: the democrat party is not a party, it’s a cult. One has only to look up the word cult in the dictionary. The definition epitomizes what today’s democrat party is.

Apparently, steyer has not followed news reports in recent months as the examples of maduro of venezuela and the late ayatolla of iran come to ind immediately. Rattling swords against President Trump could prove hazardous to health and freedom at the very least.
Personally, I think it’s something in that Starbucks swill that all the libs drink. Some substance that lowers the IQ and causes people to think, talk and act stupid. Thankfully, I’ve never touched the stuff and never will.

Steyer says he fought Big Tobacco but I’ve got news for this dope. The fight against Big Tobacco long preceded him coming onto the scene. He says he wants free lunches for school kids. More new for this billionaire dumbass. School lunches have been available since the sixties. Now they’re even sending kids home with bags of groceries for their families. Steyer says he wants to fight Big Oil. Newsome and the dems already fought big oil and that’s why the oil companies left the state sticking Californians with the highest fuel bills in the nation. As a Southerner, I don’t think Steyer has any concept of what he’s saying(to be fair most Southerners don’t either). The numbers were horrific, in 1860-64.(with a population of 31,44 million), over 600,000 Americans died, and millions were maimed. Read the Southern unit rosters, the military aged men(16-60) were almost wiped out.
In WW2 (pop 134.67 million), 407,000 Americans died, with millions maimed. Born around 25 years later, my family was still truncated and traumitized (to use a leftist term), by it.
