The first 100 days of an administration are supposed to be a politician’s ‘honeymoon’ phase. But there’s no honeymoon for Zohran Mamdani except the eternal one that radicals enjoy with the media and their other leftist allies.
If you believe the media, Mamdani won the acclimation of a majority of New Yorkers. In reality, New Yorkers were asked to choose between Andrew Cuomo, a widely loathed and disgraced hack, and Mamdani, hyped all across the media and social media. Notably, Mamdani lost the votes of actual long time residents and scraped by on third worlders and transplanted hipsters and college students.
What’s the current position of New Yorkers on Mamdani?
A new Emerson College Polling/PIX11 survey of New York City registered voters finds Mayor Zohran Mamdani with a 43% job approval rating and 27% disapproval 100 days into his first term as Mayor. Thirty percent are neutral.
Despite the media’s attempt to make these numbers sound good, a 43% approval rating during a honeymoon phase for a politician getting the most media and social media hype since Obama in an ultra-liberal city is not good.
27% hate him. The rest can’t be bothered to even offer an opinion.
The media calls this “Mamdani remains popular”. The reality is that 57% of New Yorkers aren’t backing him.
The really revealing number in the poll is that Mamdani is at 55% among those who voted in the election and at 35% among those who didn’t, lending further evidence that many voters who didn’t back Mamdani simply didn’t bother to show up because they weren’t going to vote for Cuomo.
“Majorities of Black (58%) and Hispanic (68%) New York City voters say the city is on the wrong track, while white voters are more divided, with 51% saying the city is headed in the right direction and 49% saying it is on the wrong track”
That’s Mamdani’s base right there.

It may be self selection. Would you want to live in NYC? Ask yourself what type of person wants to live there. The answer is likely the type of person that votes for these people and policies.

Many of these “white voters” are recent transplants who did not realize how expensive NYC is. Also, many of them are college grads and blame the system for their poor choices in life. She gets the support of fellow travelers.
New York City faces a severe fiscal crisis with projected budget gaps of $2.2 billion in 2026 and $10.4 billion in 2027, totaling roughly $12.6 billion. 2% of the people in NYC pay 52% of the taxes. Any of them leave and take their money with them the city will collapse.

It’s probably too much to point out that the residents could have voted for the GOP candidate.
Maybe they should ask themselves why their party puts forward so many terrible candidates. Is it the party? Is it the policies of the party? Is it the press? I doubt it’s the “influencers”. There were just no good DNC candidates.
Maybe they just need to take a good hard look at the party they blindly support.
