Traditionally, New York City mayors are supposed to visit injured police officers in the hospital, but Mamdani being such a historical figure is instead visiting a man who tried to stab a police officer in the hospital.

Mamdani visited the attempted stabber in the hospital using him as the poster stabber for his police defunding campaign.
“This situation underscores just how urgently we need a different and more effective mental health response system,” Mamdani argued. “Jabez needs mental health treatment, not criminal prosecution by a district attorney.”
I’m going to bet that he had “mental health treatment” and it didn’t keep him from trying to stab a police officer.
But police officers can always count on Mamdani to take the side of those who stab them. Which police attacker will Mamdani visit in the hospital next?

I still go to manhattan and other boroughs The city is made up of 5 boroughs They feel very far from Manhattan and are varied in many ways. Most of NYC is safe and operates despite the mayors office.

And I live in San Jose in Santa Clara Valley. (There’s no such thing as Silicon Valley. despite what outsiders think. The 80s ended 46 years ago.) San Jose isn’t little and none of the cities here are backward. And I can walk anywhere in the Valley without seeing rats and garbage heaps. Nobody freezes to death here, either.
