Front Page Magazine covered this story of the ‘model’ Afghan refugee back when it happened. And considering recent Afghan shenanigans, it’s time to revisit it and discuss the ending.
As soon as Haji Matiullah Matie arrived in the United States, he became the poster boy for Afghan refugees. The New York Times wrote up Matie’s story and so did many other media outlets. By the time he was finally resettled from Fort Pickett, Virginia, to Wausau, Wisconsin, he was famous.
When he flew out to his new home in the small Wisconsin city, the mayor was there to meet him at the airport. The mayor later visited his home along with Lt. Gov Mandela Barnes. The Afghan refugee’s social media accounts were filled with photos taken with local community leaders.
Each visit generated new stories holding Matie up as evidence that Americans should welcome Afghan refugees. And then it all fell apart as Matie was arrested for sexual assault against a person who had been helping him adjust to his new life in the snows of the Badger State.
Matie, who according to a LinkedIn of the same name, has “11 years experience in rehabilitation and civilization”, has been described as a “tribal leader”, a “prominent man” and a “business leader” in interviews. And he, along with his wife and six kids, were resettled in Wausau.
Wausau, a small central Wisconsin city of 38,735, was volunteered for the risky task of hosting some 85 Afghans, by refugee resettlement activists including the Rev. Rebecca Voss and her First United Methodist Church of Wausau, and the Multicultural Community Center.
What happened next? The least surprising thing ever to anyone who isn’t a refugee resettler. Unfortunately…
A 40-year-old man who openly shared his experiences of coming to Wausau from Afghanistan as part of the refugee resettlement project has been arrested following an investigation in sexual assault.
Police are recommending Matiullah Matie be charged with fourth-degree sexual assault.
On Wednesday, Feb. 2. Wausau Police said a victim reported she was assaulted by Matie while in a vehicle on Wausau’s northeast side. The victim was identified as an acquaintance and was assisting Matie and his family in refugee resettlement.
Much as in Europe, it was time to discuss ‘educating’ Afghan Muslims about the curious notion that women are human beings.
Mayor Rosenberg argued that the alleged assault “doesn’t define all Afghan refugees”, but promised that Police Chief Bliven and “his team stand ready to help with comprehensive and specific training about American legal and social expectations.”
And that is exactly what happened…
Charges of fourth-degree sexual assault against one of Wausau’s resettled Afghanistan refugees have been dropped.
According to court documents, Marathon County Judge Scott Corbett dismissed the charges against 40-year-old Matiullah Matie without prejudice on Tuesday.
‘Without prejudice,’ means the charge could be filed again at the County’s discretion.
Court documents say the charges were dropped because Matie has completed court-recommended counseling.
Unless the counseling involves dealing with the Koran and the tenets of Islamic law that allow Muslim men to assault non-Muslim women, it’s not going to be very effective. But we’re well in the German stage of Islamic cultural education.

Before the start of swimming season this summer, social workers like Kurzhals were bracing for culture shock at the pool.
Kurzhals helps run “Bleib Cool am Pool” (Staying Cool at the Pool), a team of conflict mediators from immigrant backgrounds, who patrol the pool. This summer, the group helped refugees learn about German pool culture.
The first rule. Don’t touch women
The actual first civilizational rule is don’t let anyone in who needs to be told this.
Wausau is the small city damaged earlier by the resettlement there of Hmong. The Lutheran Community Services do-gooders did that. Lot’s of learning about western culture and values was required in that earlier instance also. Surely the Lutherans have abetted this new insult as well. They do not appear to learn.
Suicidal Christian altruism. Turn the other cheek, love your enemies, you are your brother’s keeper, judge not that ye shall not be judged.
My Bible says nothing to me about committing suicide to accommodate anyone else’s beliefs or customs.
But refugee resettlement is quite profitable for the lutheran community services, and their catholic brethren, so they continue to bring in large numbers of the third world who refuse to assimilate.

Many things to comment on which make the blood boil.
The idea that one can “counsel” Muslims to change their worldview is maybe the worst. Based on not understanding how the brain works. Their views are like being hard wired in parts of their brain, then projected outwards. The psychologists and counselors are mainly dim-witted leftists who don’t have a deep understanding of psychology or perception or the brain.
Yes, they’re fools but I question their motivations, too. They obviously WANT to cause America harm. Not to themselves, of course, just the guys ans gals. vThat’s how they always are.
It’s all intentional. Punish the evil white man and tear down the USA as punishment and “social justice”…… It’s the ol mantra; “White man stole the land so white man deserves to have everthing taken from him”.
Bleeding hearts are eventually murdered by those whom they refused to see for exactly who and what they are but until then the innocent pay for such stupidities.
Here’s a clue: SOCIOPATHS AND PSYCHOPATHS CANNOT BE REHABILITATED. Why? Because neither has an operational conscience. The world and its inhabitants are simply there to facilitate their wants and needs without limits. Part of their pathology is the inability to feel genuine emotions and from that empathy for others. But they are masters of mimicking emotions and using those to adeptly manipulate others for their ends. Islamists have honed the inculcation of hatred into their youngest children and reinforced all legitimacy in the fundamental psychopathy of their successful, modus operandi. A conscience never developed in childhood will never exist. That is both an evident and painful reality that compassionate humanity refuses to both face and accept. It is this refusal that continues allowing for the violence and sexual predation against the innocent.
Sociopaths and psychopaths become what is needed by those before them so that they can get what they want. What others want is immaterial to them and anyone telling you differently doesn’t get it. These social workers, psychologists and religious reformers might feel better about themselves but they are loosing into society the worst of humanity and others who will pay for their horribly afflicted ideas of rehabilitation while they continue patting themselves on the back.
The Middle East, sans Israel, is a mixed group of gradations of tribal psychopathy…but psychopathy it is. Afghans worked with the military. They made money, they garnered influence with our soldiers, they were sometimes translators and THEY WERE ALWAYS JIHADISTS cloaking themselves for both greater influence and infiltration. We are the ones who will not see the lens of reality right in our face. Many a forensic psychiatrist has been bamboozled by a psychopath being interviewed by them. The Iceman, Ted Bundy to name only two but they were exceedingly effective in drawing from the interviewer sympathy and that’s the ever-so-slight crack in the door they wait for and then malevolently exploit. So, thanks to the educated idiots among us we have willingly brought into our country psychopaths whose goals are to destroy us and if we don’t face reality, they will!
Yes, psychos CANNOT be rehabilitated. Crazy is permanent and incurable.
We just have to avoid those people. And some of them are violent.

Psychopathy and Islam have common attributes. Western mindset cannot easily fathom compartmentalization that allows friendships collegial cooperation neighborliness to coexist with rabid hate blame and potential hostile acts.

Other than this women’s life may be wrecked, I’m very happy with the outcome. You can be sure she will vote for this again and probably helped him get a lighter sentence.
