Every time the Trump administration pulls back money that was supposed to be allocated for Lefty Agenda X or Radical Policy Y, there are howls of outrage, but it’s curious how little of the money was actually used to do anything.
Take California, please.
The Trump administration wants to cancel solar programs that let everyday people tap into nearby panels. In California, the technology never even got off the ground.
Almost none of the $250 million that California received from the Inflation Reduction Act’s Solar for All program, which the Trump administration is making plans to terminate as soon as this week, has made it out the door yet.
The EPA announced in April 2024 that it was giving the state a $250 million award. To date, the CPUC, which is responsible for the grant, has distributed next to nothing.
State agencies remain in an “administrative and planning phase,” according to the CPUC website.
A lot of the ‘green energy’ funding is like this, allocated but never spent, used to bolster stock value at companies expecting to get the money, allocated for programming expenses at the organizations planning on how to distribute the money, and otherwise used to fund the Democrat political machine rather than spending it for its putative purpose.

Once Trump puts an end to it , the Democrats will set more forests on fire and treat the disaster relief funds the same way , to make up for the cuts .
California is taking down dams, depriving citizens of water, so the fish can swim free. Then they get scooped up by ChiCom fishing trawlers lurking offshore.
“Much of the ‘Green Energy’ Funding Was Money Laundering”
Why of course! What did you expect: good government? Wise and judicious spending? Knock knock. Hey pal, listen up: I’m here to inform you that it’s other people’s money they’re doling out. Get it? Why should they care about how and where that money is spent?
Bureaucrats are loyal to the deep state, not the American people. They swear no oath to do right with tax payers money. After all, it is other peoples money so, meh. They;re getting paid and that’s all that matters.
That knock knock was more like a knock up joke.
They sure do enjoy the Green Stuff with lots of Numbers and $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ on it
The leaders of Russia and Ukraine do not want to end that war where innocent civilians are the ones affected because of the money laundering – and there are more hands in that from USA and globally –
Billions spent on homeless in California and there is not one dent in the homeless population – talk about an epidemic in the making
California, in fact all the Pacific Coast States, and other blue states citizens can still vote their way out of this morass –
Prosecutions for this money laundering must commence!
MuggsSpongedice:
You sound like a wise person so I take it that when you say “Prosecutions for this money laundering must commence” it’s just empty rhetoric because realistically, you know that’s never going to happen, right?
Spending billions of the homeless problem is just one of the many ways politicians waste (i.e., spend) tax payers money. Throwing money at a problem always seems like a good idea until it isn’t.
ThePoliticians know this but it’s never stopped them from doing it anyway. The grift, (in Mexican Spanish it’s called “mordida”) is too profitable to stop. Besides, as I’ve argued elsewhere, it’s other peoples money.
If your base assumption on ALL Dem-funded projects is that the purpose is to launder money, you’ll be right about 100% of the time.
That’s true but don’t go soft on the republicans and give them a pass. There are plenty of republicans on crapitol hill involved in money laundering but are just slick enough to stay below the radar.
You’d be surprised by the number of republicans who quietly support democrat spending bills on the down low. Don’t give those traitorous snakes a break!
From it’s beginning, I have told anyone who’d listen that without government subsidy, no one would pay for Solar Panels or Windmills out of their own pocket. Once the subsidies stop, so will this “green” nonsense. Likewise, requiring electricity providers to buy back excess power from panels and mills regardless of the need for it incentives the proliferation and nails the ratepayers for the cost. A little history and science would go a long way to ending this nonsense too. There is nothing “green” about solar panels, windmills, and electric vehicles. They are all made with materials that not only do not degrade but are harmful to the environment. The resourcing of these materials is often done by slave labor and with strip mining and other practices that create terrible pollution. Greenies can pat themselves on the back for “saving the planet” all they want, but the truth is, they are the people harming it most.
“There is nothing “green” about solar panels, windmills, and electric vehicles.”
On the contrary, plenty of green” about solar panels, windmills, and electric vehicles. You just have to reinterpret what they mean by “green energy” and then adjust your perspective to realize who’s providing the “green” and who’s getting the “green.” The people providing the green gets screwed (“schlonged” as Trump would say it) and the people getting the green get rich.
I call it a “dictatorial relationship.” They (private industry via government subsidies, mandates and incentives) do the dicking and we (the tax payers) do the taking!
I remember a time when I lived in California and was driving through a huge area full of wind turbines, looked like hundreds of them, and not a single one was turning.
Green energy isn’t a solution for anything except chewing thru mountains of long green legal tender while producing jack.
If all that wasted money had been put into Nuclear and updating the grid, we would be far better off.
It’s all the same! I call it WWE politics. Every wrestling fan should know the play. He’s the bad guy, now he’s the good guy. it’s all just entertainment and acting. Behind the scenes they’re hi-fiving over the great show and scheming over what the next drama will be. In a few years we’ll see this whole debacle happen again on the republican side of the isle. Make new programs, collect money, pocket money. THIS IS THE WAY!
