Karen Diamond was the 82-year-old Jewish woman taking part in a gathering in support of the Israeli hostages in Boulder, Colorado on June 1. Mohamed Sabry Soliman, an illegal immigrant from Egypt, threw flammable liquid on, and set fire to, thirteen of those people standing in quiet prayer, witnesses who were there to remind the world of the hostages still held in Gaza by their Hamas torturers. His attack left 13 of the 29 members of the group wounded, some of them in critical condition. Karen Diamond was one of them; she has just died.
The British journalist Brendan O’Neill considers here how little attention was given to this racist attack by all those “anti-racists” who are busy screaming about “genocide” in Gaza: “Karen Diamond: killed by ‘anti-Zionism,’” by Brendan O’Neill, Spiked, July 2, 2025:
A woman has died following a savage racist attack. She was doused in a flammable liquid and set on fire by a man barking bigoted insults in her face. She later succumbed to her injuries, her precious life extinguished in a 21st-century lynching by fire. But you will not see blacked-out squares on Instagram for this victim of racist violence. The left will not march. No hashtag will trend. Few hands will be wrung in woke circles over this most hellish assault. Why? Because the victim was a Jew.
Her name was Karen Diamond. She was 82 years old. She was one of 29 people who gathered at Pearl Street Mall in Boulder, Colorado on 1 June to call for the release of the Israeli hostages. Their small, prayerful assembly was intruded on in the most sickening fashion by one Mohamed Sabry Soliman. He is suspected of having splashed the gathering with petrol before wielding a homemade flame-thrower to try to immolate them. It’s 2025 and they’re burning Jews again.
Thirteen people were injured. Karen Diamond’s injuries were too severe to survive: she died last week, as revealed in court documents filed this week. What made this act of savagery especially heinous was the age of the victims. The eight people hospitalised were aged 52 to 88. The oldest, Barbara Steinmetz, was a Holocaust survivor, having fled Nazi Europe as an infant in the 1940s. She escaped Hitler’s flames, but not the flames of the rabid ‘anti-Zionism’ raging in the West in 2025.
Officialdom has expressed grief over Diamond’s tragic yielding to the fires of Jew hate that swept Pearl Street Mall four weeks ago. The City of Boulder has extended its ‘heartfelt condolences’ for the loss of this good, long life to an ‘anti-Semitic attack’. But you will search in vain for commentary from ‘anti-racists’. The activist classes are shamefully and horrendously mute. Opinion-makers who pose as ‘anti-fascist’ seem blissfully unbothered by this fascistic horror that entailed the death by fire of a Jew. There will be no ‘George Floyd treatment’ for Karen Diamond….
This is not about blaming anyone other than Soliman for what happened in Boulder four weeks ago. It’s about examining, with frankness, the consequences of the latest elite hysteria. When you call Zionism ‘evil’ and its supporters ‘monsters’, when you depict Zionism as the wickedest ideology of all time, you have no right whatsoever to feign alarm when Zionists – Jews – are subjected to violent retribution. You found them guilty of evil, so why should others not pass sentence on them?
The fetid antisemitism that feeds, and is fed by, anti-Israel animus, is everywhere — on college campuses, at meetings of the UN, in both the mass media and on social media. Brendan O’Neill draws a direct line from violent anti-Zionism to antisemitism, and from that antisemitism to the death, by being burned alive, of Karen Diamond. Brendan O’Neill wants us to recognize that link, to deplore that homicidal hate for Israel, and to protest a world where such things as Karen Diamond’s death are possible, and passed over largely in silence by the new fascists who have no sympathy for Jewish victims who, by supporting Israel, are held to deserve what they get.

He already came back to venge His own death, just as He promised. Vengeance is MINE says the Lord, I WILL repay. They scoffed when He predicted the destruction of the Jerusalem Temple the week befor they killed Him. He prediced tha there would not be one stone left sittng upon another stone… and that this would happen before this present generaion would pass away.
Later that same day He was discussing with His closest friends…. named a significant number of specific events that, again would all take place before this present generation will pass away. (that it, the generation then living, not ours) And despite much of the church holding wrongly that those events are yet to happen in our future, every single one of the things He described DID happen and is well recorded in the secular history of His time.
And He will return at some point yet future and execute one more judgement upon those who refuse Him and His ways. That one IS yet to come, but the vengeance for His totally undeserved execution has been exacted.

Sadly, I have to agree. If the expression “hate crime” meant anything,, then surely this would qualify in every tragic way. But isn’t the expression “hate crime” simply a device which tells us who matters (who is on the Uber page) and who does not matter (who is on the Unter page)? I speak as a Polonian, so I have been on the “unter” page (discourtesy) of the most powerful media and academe in the world pretty much since the day after WW2 ended. So I feel – rightly or wrongly – that I am something of an expert.
I am very sorry indeed to hear about Karen Diamond, and all those who were left burnt and damaged in the wake of this truly hateful attack. But am I surprised that I have heard nothing about it before? Sadly, no. Because, to go back to George Orwell, All hate crimes are equal, but some are more equal than others.
I hope Karen now sleeps safe in “the everlasting arms”, safe in God’s memory, every hair of her head numbered, and that she has such a joyful awakening ahead of her. But God will not wake her from the dreamless sleep of death until the whole earth is at peace under the loving rule of the Kingdom of God. She saw more than enough violence, she does not need to see any more.
I hope we will be there in the restored earthly paradise to welcome her back.

I am one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, and my viewpoint – in case you think I have not revealed it enough – is that the writers of the Inspired Scriptures, from Genesis to Revelation, are telling us the truth. And we all need to listen to them, urgently. Really urgently.

Anti-Zionism/antisemitism is an evil that must be called for what it is. And in the strongest terms.
The unjustifiable hatred and torturous murder of innocent Jews is unconscionable. Yet, in the name of jihad this has been an ongoing reality for generation upon generation.

I see no other conclusion than what’s chronicled in the Old and New Testaments of the Bible about the kitschy term: the end times. Just for clarification that even the biggest churches don’t teach – it is not the end of the world and all life it is the end of this 2nd Earth Age we are in where vitriol to genocide will be no more. That does not mean we sit on our hands and do nothing.

The only thing new about the new antisemitism is that there is a strong and capable Israel. Jews don’t have to exist solely in a scattered diaspora and try to assimilate into foreign cultures and try to mind their own business quietly. Israel is finally fed up with constant bombardment from everywhere and is showing real muscle to everyone’s surprise. The hatred is the same as it always was. The 70 year vacation in the west from open Jew hatred after WWII may have created an illusion of a new world. The Muslims did not bother to observe that courtesy and the Nazis just took a nap. They are back. Our current government supports Israel, but does it really support American Jews? Israel is a critical political/military ally. What about local Jews? Confronting the academics is a good start. It gets tricky when there is antisemite money supporting a money obsessed executive. It gets tricky when radical Islam has been reproducing itself inside the population and who knows where the jihadi terrorist sleeper cells are sleeping right now. Why are we pardoning right wing radical paramilitaries? They are as close to SS as it gets. I am rambling. Sorry.
