Paris: Five Assailants Trip, Punch, Rob Jewish Boy, Hold a Knife to His Neck

A 13 year old Jewish boy was walking to synagogue in Paris.

Five men surrounded him.

They threw him to the ground.
They punched him in the face and beat him.
He held his kippa in his hands.

They pressed a knife to his neck.

They told him to empty his pockets.

A 13-year-old Jewish boy was traveling from his home in Paris to a synagogue in the center of the city. He was wearing a kippah, which in a country now bedeviled with antisemitic violence is a brave assertion of Jewish identity. Of course, the attackers “came not single spies, but in battalions” — to wit, five thugs who attacked, punched, robbed, and held a knife to the throat of one frightened Jewish boy.

There is no information on the attackers, but there are clues. They held a knife to his neck, as per the Qur’an’s instruction to strike the necks of the unbelievers (47:4). They called him a “dirty Jew,” in line with the Qur’an’s designation of unbelievers as unclean (9:28). Neither point is conclusive, of course, but France is now teeming with Muslims who have taken to heart the Qur’an’s statement that the Jews are the “most vehement in hostility” of all people to the Muslims (5:82), and have been enflamed by the relentless antisemitic propaganda that has inundated the world since October 7, 2023.

A 13-year-old Jewish teen was tripped, punched, and had a knife held to his throat on his way to a synagogue in central Paris on Monday, the Paris prosecutor’s office confirmed to The Jerusalem Post on Wednesday.

The boy was wearing a kippah. He reported that he was walking to the synagogue when five people attacked him, took his jacket, and ordered him to empty his pockets. He said he was tripped, punched in the face, and had a knife held to his throat before his AirPods were stolen. The victim stated that his attackers made antisemitic remarks.

The boy was on a video call when the attack happened, and the person on the other end of the call was able to provide identifying details on one of the assailants.

An 18-year-old man was arrested by the police of the 18th arrondissement and is being detained.

The prosecutor’s office said it is investigating offenses of armed robbery and armed violence committed in a group and aggravated by discrimination….

Imagine the fear that has now been instilled in the young boy. He won’t be wearing his kippah in public for many years to come. He wonders if the police, having charged one of his attackers, will be able to locate and charge the remaining four, or will he have to be looking over his shoulder from now on out of fear of some kind of retaliatory attack from those four, or from others angry that a Jew, or a “yahud,” would cause trouble for their friends. You don’t forget an attack like that, when five people surround you, punch and rob you, and one of them puts a knife to your throat.
