Clinton Foundation, Bill Gates and Jeffrey Epstein
An interesting new angle has emerged in the Jeffrey Epstein case.
In August, the New York Times offered the following tidbit from Epstein.
Mr. Epstein then meandered into a discussion of other prominent names in technology circles. He said people in Silicon Valley had a reputation for being geeky workaholics, but that was far from the truth: They were hedonistic and regular users of recreational drugs. He said he’d witnessed prominent tech figures taking drugs and arranging for sex (Mr. Epstein stressed that he never drank or used drugs of any kind).
Back then, the Times was looking into Epstein's alleged ties to Tesla. Since then, the New York Times got tied to Epstein by one of its own board members, who was plugged into the tech world. That tech figure links Epstein to none other than Bill Gates.
In October, 2014, the Media Lab received a two-million-dollar donation from Bill Gates; Ito wrote in an internal e-mail, “This is a $2M gift from Bill Gates directed by Jeffrey Epstein.” Cohen replied, “For gift recording purposes, we will not be mentioning Jeffrey’s name as the impetus for this gift.” A mandatory record of the gift filed within the university stated only that “Gates is making this gift at the recommendation of a friend of his who wishes to remain anonymous.” Knowledge of Epstein’s alleged role was usually kept within a tight circle. In response to the university filing, Cohen wrote to colleagues, “I did not realize that this would be sent to dozens of people,” adding that Epstein “is not named but questions could be asked” and that “I feel uncomfortable that this was distributed so widely.” He wrote that future filings related to Epstein should be submitted only “if there is a way to do it quietly.” An agent for Gates wrote to the leadership of the Media Lab, stating that Gates also wished to keep his name out of any public discussion of the donation.
Bill Gates is a major donor. But why would the MIT lab need Epstein to get donations from him? And why would Gates direct major donations at the impetus of Epstein?
This is 2014. Epstein's crimes were a matter of public record.
Bill Gates' people clearly knew this and wanted his name off the record. MIT clearly knew about Epstein's issues, despite Ito's earlier denials, and wanted his name off the record. So why go through the process at all?
A spokesperson for Gates said that “any claim that Epstein directed any programmatic or personal grantmaking for Bill Gates is completely false.” A source close to Gates said that the entrepreneur has a long-standing relationship with the lab, and that anonymous donations from him or his foundation are not atypical. Gates has previously denied receiving financial advisory services from Epstein; in August, CNBC reported that he met with Epstein in New York in 2013, to discuss “ways to increase philanthropic spending.”
Bill Gates probably knows how to use Google or Bing. What was the basis for their relationship?
Gates flew on Air Epstein.
The meeting apparently preceded a flight Gates took on one of Epstein's private planes to Palm Beach, Florida, where the financier was a registered sex offender. Gates is listed on the flight logs of one of Epstein's planes as having taken a trip from Teterboro Airport in New Jersey, where Epstein was arrested in July, to Palm Beach on March 1, 2013.
But there's one more obvious connection.
Epstein claimed to have co-founded the organization that turned into the Clinton Foundation. Gates and the Clinton Foundation have a lot of overlap.
