Half of Hate Crimes Committed by Whites, a Quarter by Blacks

Again, more information from the FBI hate crime data that defies the simplistic narratives.

In 2018, race was reported for 6,266 known hate crime offenders. Of these offenders:

53.6 percent were White.
24.0 percent were Black or African American.
6.9 percent were groups made up of individuals of various races (group of multiple races).
1.3 percent were Asian.
1.0 percent were American Indian or Alaska Native.
0.3 percent (19 offenders) were Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander.
12.9 percent were unknown.

Unknown accounts for over 10%. But taking it off the table, over half of hate crimes were committed by white people and under a quarter by black people. White supremacy is no doubt a factor. But the numbers fairly clearly show that bigotry and hate crimes are far from exclusive to any race.

These numbers also likely class Latinos with whites. There's a separate ethnicity category which lists Latinos, but let's not make this excessively complicated.

However you slice it, statistics in which white people are only responsible for 53.6% of hate crimes in which the offender's race was known paints a very different picture than the one that the media and Democrats keep pushing.
