Taliban Win Liberal Hearts and Minds by Promising to Fight "Climate Change"

Obama wanted to win Afghan hearts and minds in Afghanistan, but Islamists are much better at winning the hearts and minds of lefties.

Islamists study our culture quite a bit. There's a reason that Osama bin Laden was into Michael Moore. And the Taliban's spokesmen have clearly learned how to talk the talk. And if they needed any help, the Qataris, who turned Al Jazeera into a Jihadist mouthpiece in Arabic and a leftist agitprop network in English, along with their Muslim Brotherhood state-sponsored Islamists, could have given them some lessons.

Islamists can only go so far on some issues, like women's rights or homosexuality, without violating their religious beliefs, but they can go all in on global warming where repeating the nonsensical beliefs of our elites in no way contradicts the Koran.

Abdul Qahar Balkhi, a member of the Taliban's Cultural Commission, told Newsweek that his group sought worldwide recognition of the Islamic Emirate.

"We believe the world has a unique opportunity of rapprochement and coming together to tackle the challenges not only facing us but the entire humanity," Balkhi added, "and these challenges ranging from world security and climate change need the collective efforts of all, and cannot be achieved if we exclude or ignore an entire people who have been devastated by imposed wars for the past four decades."

So he's ready for Basel. The Biden-Taliban summit will also be awesome.

Does any of this stuff really represent what the Taliban leadership want? Who knows. The Taliban leadership may just be puppets of Pakistan and Qatar anyway. And they would favor having another vote in the UN.

The Taliban also know that a government with international representation would be much harder to remove and would be able to cash in on international aid and finance.

So the Taliban will commit to fighting global warming by sustainably beheading Christians and women who don't wear burkas.
