Wisconsin Senate Dem Candidate: America's Founding was Awful. Happy 4th.

Wisconsin Lt. Gov Mandela Barnes, who tends to get namechecked by violent racist thugs and Afghan rapists, wants to be the Democrat nominee for the Senate from the state that he is currently occupying. On Twitter, probably in reaction to this, Barnes posted pictures of himself at a parade with the message, "Happy Independence Day! Today we celebrate our freedom and everyone who has fought for it—and we recommit ourselves to continuing the fight."

In Obamaesque fashion, this transforms July 4th into a struggle for social justice and leftist political agendas.

But Barnes was more honest on this video.

Wisconsin Lt. Governor and U.S. Senate candidate Mandela Barnes was filmed on video decrying the founding of America as terrible and "awful."

In a video posted Sunday by Milwaukee-based talk show host Dan O’Donnell, Barnes, a Democrat, can be heard telling an audience "things were bad, things were terrible," while discussing America’s origins.

"The founding of this nation? Awful," Barnes continued, adding that Americans ought to commit themselves to doing everything possible to repairing the harms of the past.

America is awful. Happy 4th.

In a statement to Fox News, a spokesperson for Barnes' campaign said, "Painting the Lt. Governor’s comment as anything other than a condemnation of slavery is a sad GOP attempt to distract from Ron Johnson trying to literally overthrow the government of this country and strip reproductive rights from millions of Americans."

Literally.

To condemn slavery, you talk about slavery. Barnes is talking about "the founding of this nation". A nation that he, like most leftists, hates.
