James Comey: Man Without a Party

Someone really hasn't been watching their MSNBCs.

Former FBI Director James Comey waded back into the political fray on Twitter Sunday, warning Democrats not to "rush to the socialist left" in upcoming elections.

"Democrats, please, please don’t lose your minds," Comey wrote. "This president and his Republican Party are counting on you to do exactly that. America's great middle wants sensible, balanced, ethical leadership."

Last week, Comey urged voters to back Democrats in November's midterm elections, tweeting that Republicans had proven "incapable of fulfilling the Founders’ design that 'Ambition must … counteract ambition.'"

Maybe he should have checked with the Democrats first.

America's great middle is outmoded terminology. Certainly as far as the Dems are concerned. Perhaps Comey might have noticed that during the Obama years. A moderate Dem has as much chance at the Dem nomination as Comey has of developing a sense of humor.

But looks like Comey did as much research on his new party as he did on the FISA applications.

His new party is the socialist left. Perhaps he might check with his wife who attended the women's march, organized by supporters of the violently racist Nation of Islam and Louis Farrakhan. (Who are also not great fans of the FBI.)

Maybe Comey should start his own party. It will consist entirely of upper echelon career government personnel with no sense of humor who like to pretend that anyone cares about their views when they aren't being interrogated by them. Call it, the deep state.
