They might get the benefit of the doubt if they didn't use this same exact excuse for every Muslim terrorist attack.
Faisal Hussain has been identified as the gunman in the deadly Danforth Avenue shooting rampage.
Ontario’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) released Hussain’s identity on Monday evening, hours after he opened fire on a number of Danforth Avenue restaurants, killing two people and injuring 13 more
The usual excuse is in. It's mental illness.
The parents of a gunman who killed two people and injured 13 others in Toronto on Sunday night said their son suffered from “severe mental health challenges.”
According to a source who has met the family, Hussain was the son of Canadian parents of Pakistani origin who have been struggling through major challenges.
The National Council of Canadian Muslims said they were “shocked an angered by this shooting attack.”
“There can be no justification for such acts of brutal violence. We urge everyone to wait for the police investigation to provide answers about this devastating situation before speculating about motive,” officials said in a statement.
The AP decided to run a bizarrely sympathetic tearjerking piece about a mass murderer that turns him into the victim.
TORONTO (AP) — Ashley Robinson saw Faisal Hussain almost every day when she walked her dog on the winding sidewalk near her high-rise apartment building.
"He always was smiling," she said, adding that they lived in the same building in Thorncliffe Park, a 21-story gray building that's home to immigrants and Canadians alike.
You think from that opening that Hussain is the victim.
Aamir Sukhera said Hussain was a close family friend of the dead suspect who lived with his parents in a low-income apartment in the east end of the city. Residents of the neighborhood said Hussain's family has suffered other tragedies in recent years, including the death of Hussain's sister from a car crash.
Still, friends said he was always cheerful.
"He had a million-dollar smile. He was very upbeat and happy whenever I saw him," Sukhera said, adding that Hussain "seemed fine."
When Trump calls the media, the "enemy of the people", this is why so many people agree with him. This reads like Al Qaeda's take.
People from Sri Lanka, Slovakia, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Afghanistan, the Philippines and Canada all live in the neighborhood, and normally coexist peacefully.
Funny how the one named murder victim is quite clearly not from Bangladesh, Pakistan or Afghanistan.
