The Atlantic Comes Up With the Dumbest Argument Against Trump

There was a race on Friday for the dumbest Trump bashing clickbait between The New York Times and The Atlantic.

The Times clickbait was a piece by the unhinged Michelle Goldberg accusing Trump of causing middle school bullying. Or something even dumber. But John McWorther at The Atlantic completely blew away Michelle with, "Trump’s Typos Reveal His Lack of Fitness for the Presidency."

Grammar Nazis just got literal.

The president of the United States has many faults, but let’s not ignore this one: He cannot write sentences. If a tree falls in a forrest and no one is there to hear it … wait: Pretty much all of you noticed that mistake, right? Yet Wednesday morning, the president did not; he released a tweet referring to “forrest fires” twice, as if these fires were set by Mr. Gump. Trump’s serial misuse of public language is one of many shortcomings that betray his lack of fitness for the presidency.

Okay.

It looks we're approaching a distinct shortage of Trump-bashing content. This is a national emergency. The media will soon have nothing to write about except trending viral videos.

Anyone who has seen contemporary emails and notes from influential business and political figures will quickly spot the bad grammar and typos. McWorther's comparison to Truman is silly. That was another, far more literate, generation.

Take Senator Mikulski's email to Hillary Clinton.

Am so glad to hear frm you//// knew this was painful combined with logistics of being a woman--know. How streddful this must be----the other night the. Senate. Women had dinner anyway---all sent good words. And encouragement. To a woman theyb all said. Oh my imagine just getting dressed and the. Hair thing. Get your therapy. Get better. The senate is slogging along----- health care is starting to sag. --- some days it feels like we are doing the public option off backof envelope. Call when you can. X.”

Was Barb unfit to be a senator? Perhaps John can comment.

But the media is just the messaging arm for the Dems and if it didn't have double standards, it wouldn't have any standards.
