Order Michael Finch’s new book, A Time to Stand: HERE. Prof. Jason Hill calls it “an aesthetic and political tour de force.”
You simply cannot hate and/or mock the Left-dominated media enough. Even Christmas is not safe from being targeted by their joyless, ham-fisted propaganda to project their own campaign of cultural subversion onto some straw man they relentlessly label the “far-right.”
Politico published an eminently mockable piece, just in time for the most wonderful time of the year, titled – brace yourselves – “How the far right stole Christmas.” By “far right,” of course, the Left means anything to the right of Chairman Mao. It means any political opponent who believes in upholding God, family, and country. It means any political opponent who does not publicly avow that men can be women, that Islam means peace, and that Somalis first came to America on the Mayflower. It means any political opponent who simply defends the joyful traditions and sacred meaning of Christmas against demonic Left-wing subversion.
The subtitle of this Politico self-parody reads, “Seasonal traditions and good cheer are being repurposed to serve political ends.” This is a shameless projection of what the Left has actually done. It is the Left that has repurposed Christmas for political end. It is the Left that has sought for decades to dismantle and dilute the language and expressions of the Christmas season, because Leftists hate Christianity. They hate the unifying, apolitical message of joy and peace that Christmas brings to the whole world. The Left thrives on social division and resentment – indeed, it cannot survive without them – and the message of Christ the savior’s incarnation is a rejection of their false religion of social justice, which pits people against each other in identity politics warfare.
The Politico article opens with this humdinger of an observation about Christmas in Europe:
Far-right parties are claiming the festive season as their own, recasting Christmas as a marker of Christian civilization that is under threat and positioning themselves as its last line of defense against a supposedly hostile, secular left.
A supposedly hostile, secular left? Is Politico joking? And by the way, Christmas isn’t being “recast” as a marker of Christian civilization. It obviously, definitively is a marker of Christian civilization, and has been for two thousand years. Christmas, Christian – it’s right there in the name, you Politico morons.
Politico goes on to claim falsely that Fox News originated the notion of a “war on Christmas,” and now “European far-right parties more usually focused on immigration or law-and-order concerns have adopted similar language, recasting Christmas as the latest battleground in a broader struggle over culture.”
Do you want to know why the “far-right” – i.e., ordinary Europeans – have been expressing concerns about Christmas becoming a battleground over culture? Maybe it has something to do with their Christmas markets being transformed into security nightmares or cancelled altogether thanks to jihadist terrorism imported by the European globalist elites. Maybe it has something to do with the cultural Marxist dismantling of Christmas traditions in schools, museums, and even churches that have been diluted by Left-wing subversion. Maybe it has something to do with an actual war on Christmas being waged by the secular Left, while Muslim celebrations and traditions are upheld and promoted by fawning surrender monkeys like England’s Islamophilic King Charles.
The European Left hate and fear Italy’s Right-wing Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni (pictured above) who, Politico states ominously, “has made the defense of Christmas traditions central to her political identity.” The outlet claims that her party, Brothers of Italy, has turned the Christmas message into a political “spectacle” – by which Politico means a – gasp – Christmas-themed festival, “complete with Santa, ice-skating, and a towering Christmas tree lit in the colors of the Italian tricolor”:
For party figures, the symbolism is explicit. “For us, traditions represent our roots, who we are, who we have been, and the history that made us what we are today,” said Marta Schifone, a Brothers of Italy MP. “Those roots must be celebrated and absolutely defended.”
Yes, absolutely correct – they must be celebrated and defended.
The Left also despises the popular Alternative for Germany (AfD) party in Germany, which Politico notes has warned that Christmas markets are losing their “German character, amplifying disinformation about Muslim traditions edging out Christian ones.”
Disinformation? Seriously? There is a mountain of evidence, for anyone who cares to look past Politicos’ own disinformation, that Christmas markets are being targeted by Muslim terrorists and their Left-wing allies in toppling Western civilization.
Daniele Albertazzi, a professor at the University of Surrey, told Politico that after Islamic terrorist attacks between 2010–15, “Christianity became a cultural marker” for the Right, “a way to portray themselves as defenders of traditional family, tradition and identity.”
Gee, maybe that’s because conservatives are the defenders of traditional family, tradition and identity. The Politico author concedes that the Left has a “discomfort with religion in public life,” which is putting it mildly. She defends Progressives for emphasizing “inclusivity by using neutral phrases like ‘holiday season,’ which for the far right amounts to cultural self-loathing.” That’s because it does. It is a loathing of the Christian identity of the continent once known as Christendom.
“Christmas remains politically potent precisely because it is emotive, tied to family rituals, childhood memories and local identity,” Politico concludes, suggesting that the “far right” is exploiting the emotional power of Christmas for political reasons. Politico willfully ignores the demonstrable fact that the European multiculturalists want to deconstruct and destroy those rituals, memories and identity, while simultaneously facilitating the surging Islamization of the continent, precisely in order to eradicate the continent’s Christian identity.
Conservative social media users predictably blasted the idiotic Politico piece. Christmas is “Not a ‘far right’ concept,” wrote podcast host Mel K. “politico is such a joke.”
“Wow, imagine marking Christmas as being Christian. Revolutionary thinking in Europa,” posted journalist Chris Tomlinson.
“‘Those dang Christians claiming the celebration of their Savior’s birth as their own.’ You might want to ask yourself why you’re being ratioed,” “MAHA and MAGA mom” Ellie A tweeted at Politico.
The mockery was well-earned, but we must be on guard not to take lightly the Left’s campaign of anti-Christian subversion. We must resist it with a righteous fury.

We say ‘Merry Christmas” because we are filled with joy at the birth of Jesus Christ, goodwill towards men and the promise of salvation for all mankind. A side effect is that it is a dagger in the heart of miserable heathen leftists, who are frustrated beyond measure that Christianity continues to grow and its tenets are proven true over and over again, while their vile and disgusting ideology is proven a failure over and over and again
I’m Jewish, but that was beautifully, and aptly, put…
Thank you
Except for a few outlier sects like the Amish and the Hasidim we are all now Americans First.
Americanism is a SECULAR PHILOSOPHY, a secular way of life, fundamentally NOT concerned about a supernatural afterlife, but about the pursuit and achievement of happiness (the pagan Aristotle’s concept of EUDAIMONIA), here on earth, in this lifetime.
Life, liberty, and the secular, earthly, pursuit of happiness, is the American philosophy.
To be an American, is to be in an essential and crucial way, an Aristotelian Pagan. Enjoying the possible, potential, and actualized joy and happiness possible to us here on earth.
“For Aristotle, the good life is one of personal self-fulfillment. Man should enjoy the values of this world. Using his mind to the fullest, each man should work to achieve his own happiness here on earth. And in the process he should be conscious of his own value. Pride, writes Aristotle—a rational pride in oneself and in one’s moral character—is, when it is earned, the “crown of the virtues.” – Leonard Peikoff
“Americanism is a SECULAR PHILOSOPHY”
That’s very important to you, isn’t it. You try so hard to ruin Christmas don’t you. Except for a perpetual malcontent like you and Lenny the Piehole, nobody cares. So what’s it like to think you are better and smarter than the rest of us.
We just celebrated Christmas. Churches were packed with the faithful. Everyone was happy except for you. And Trump even took out some Christian-killing Muslim terrorists…… his Christmas gift to us to the country.
Somehow you won the jackpot by being born here. And yet you spend your remaining days bitching and moaning about how everything sucks. From what I can see you deserve nothing that this country has to offer. And yet you sit here and whine about how horrible we are.
You can’t even see how fortunate you are that you will never be killed by Muslims who would take you out in an infidel heartbeat if they could. You don’t even have the stones to defend yourself. We as Americans pay to defend your sorry pathetic selfish a$$. And you live in a city now run by a sworn enemy of this country. Well done shmuck.
Well, I am sitting here typing this while listening Bach’s Christmas Oratorio. Perfect.
Maybe you should remove those lumps of coal from your ears, sh*t for brains. Sucks to be you.
Leaonard was very wrong.
We are in this fight together, the Judeo/Christian brothers and sisters of this world.
The American Puritans banned Christmas for 22 years from 1659 to 1681. England’s Puritan Parliament banned Christmas in 1644, viewing it as a pagan tradition. The holiday remained illegal for 15 or nearly 16 years until the monarchy was restored in 1660.
“Why the Puritans opposed Christmas
Puritan objections to Christmas were theological, biblical, and moral.
First, Puritans argued that Scripture did not command the celebration of Christ’s birth on a specific date. In their view, only practices explicitly authorized by Scripture should be included in Christian worship—a principle often called the “regulative principle.”
Second, Puritans associated Christmas with Roman Catholic tradition, noting that the holiday had developed centuries after the New Testament period and had been shaped by medieval church practice. To them, Christmas represented an unbiblical human invention rather than apostolic Christianity.
Third, Puritans were deeply concerned about the moral behavior associated with Christmas festivities. Drunkenness, sexual license, and disorder were seen as evidence that the holiday encouraged sin rather than godliness.
Finally, some Puritans questioned whether December 25 had any historical connection to Jesus’ birth at all, arguing that the date was linked to pagan festivals rather than Christian origins.” – The Puritan War on Christmas by Stephen Bedard
Because when I want an uplifting lecture on what Puritans thought of Christmas I always turn to the musings of Stephen Bedard. (Who?)
Nobody cares what the Puritans did with Christmas or what they thought of Christmas. I thank God they (and you) aren’t running things.
I would bet you and your Puritan scolds are great fun at parties. What a laughable, yet depressing, loser you are.
Don’t worry T. Hopefully we get through the holidays and there are no Objectivist terrorist wet noodle attacks. The festivities will be over in a few days and you can get back to being your “jolly” rationally selfish self.
Who cares what others thought or did. I celebrate Christmas because I celebrate the birth of Jesus, the Savior of mankind. I celebrate with festive lights and a beautiful green tree. The shepard’s and the magi celebrated and worshipped this baby that would die for us. How others feel about it doesn’t concern or effect me whatsoever. Merry Christmas, Christ is born.
The malcontented Left frets over everything they cannot control or destroy. Christmas will be a hard nut for them to crack.
Great article. It displays how brazen the propaganda has become. Although Christians do not believe the hype, an increasing number of people do see Christmas this way. So, although I am happy to believe Christians and many others still understand what Christmas means, how successful is this kind of propaganda as Christianity becomes more and more marginalized?
They have so little of relevance to say on anything yet they keep talking.
Poor Politico. If anyone in euroland is preventing you from celebrating Christmas it’s the effing Muslims who are streaming unchecked into the rotting corpse of Europe.
Leftists are stupid everywhere. Try going to a Christmas market in France and Germany these days
Exactly! 🍻👍
It has become necessary to install road-blocks to keep muslims or BLM scumbags from running down as many random, white strangers as possible.
¹ Shamsudzdin Jabbar took advantage in New Orleans Jan 1st of this year (enabled by the incompetence or DEI hire Cheif Anne Kirkpatrick).
² Darrell Brooks ran down a Christmas parade in Nov ’21 in Waukesha, WI. (BLM activist, Vaun Mayes, celebrated the attack.)
³ In Cologne Germany, the religion-of-peace carried out 1,400+ rapes on New Years eve in 2015. (The intended attack on the Cologne Cathedral was thwarted.)
Moral of the story is . . .
If you import trash, we reap the effects.
If you teach trash to our next generation, we reap the consequences.
The Quran & woke universities have one goal in common – the nihilistic destruction of the West.
Looks to me like Politico was drinking too much Last Night and needs to sobber themselves back to dry
Stealing Christmas. Talk about accusation of theft, left wing parties once accused Dansk Folkeparti (Danish People’s Party) of stealing Dannebrog, the Danish flag. Dannebrog belongs to the people, not the state. By the way, socialists always wanted the white cross removed from the red backdrop…
Calling Christmas “Christmas” is evidence of a far right takeover
“Politico Frets About a ‘Far-Right’ Takeover of Christmas”
That statement necessarily implies that the opposite is true for the far left. I.e., Politico would rejoice if the far left took over Christmas. In their version of Christmas, Jesus would be a homosexual who had 2 mommies and Santa Clause would be a flamboyant homo dressed in a skintight rainbow Santa suit or some 370lb trannie wearing a rainbow G-string and an S&M bra and shaking their ginormous gelatinous lasses and twerking in front of children.
This all sounds gross and disgusting but think of what the left would turn Christmas into if they were ever in control. What I suggest above would be tame in comparison.
It already happened!
“The Sparkle Creed was written in 2021 by Rev. Rachel Small-Stokes of Immanuel United Church of Christ in Louisville, Kentucky.
The Sparkle Creed
I believe in the non-binary God whose pronouns are plural.
I believe in Jesus Christ, their child, who wore a fabulous tunic and had two dads and saw everyone as a sibling-child of God.
I believe in the rainbow Spirit, who shatters our image of one white light and refracts it into a rainbow of gorgeous diversity.
I believe in the church of everyday saints as numerous, creative, and resilient as patches on the AIDS quilt, whose feet are grounded in mud and whose eyes gaze at the stars in wonder.
I believe in the call to each of us that love is love is love, so beloved, let us love.
I believe, glorious God. Help my unbelief. Amen.”
Those observing Christmas are accused of taking Christmas over from those not observing Christmas. That is like a person who left home accusing those remaining of taking over the home.
Brilliant piece. Both hilarious and infuriating. Thank you Mark. Your voice is important.
I attended a Christmas service that was peppered with political indoctrination.
What concerns me most is that when I shared that observation with conservative friends who attended the same service; none of them heard the political stuff.
Granted it was woven in to the sermon, but it was there nonetheless.
What concerns me is that even conservatives don’t pick up on the subtle indoctrination.
Thank you for your voice to point it all out.
I’m sending this piece to them all.
Merry Christmas, Mark
Have you read The Sermon On The Mount? Politics are downstream from ethics. The ethics of Jesus lead to a certain kind of politics and those politics are NOT you can keep what you earn because you’ve earned it. The ethics of Jesus are NOT the ethics of self-preservation and Capitalism. After all, as the Bible says, “the love of money is the root of all evil”.
21 Jesus answered, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”
22 When the young man heard this, he went away sad, because he had great wealth.
23 Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Truly I tell you, it is hard for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of heaven. 24 Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.”
Eye for Eye
38 “You have heard that it was said, ‘Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.’[h] 39 But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also. 40 And if anyone wants to sue you and take your shirt, hand over your coat as well. 41 If anyone forces you to go one mile, go with them two miles. 42 Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you.
Love for Enemies
43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor[i] and hate your enemy.’ 44 But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. 46 If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? 47 And if you greet only your own people, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? 48 Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
And don’t forget “Blessed are the cheese makers.”
Wow T. You know how to copy and paste. Let us know when you get to second grade. Maybe you should tell us how smart you are first.
I guess you really told us Christians off this time……for the one millionth time.
What’s it like to be stuck in that Christian ‘doom loop’ of yours.
Or maybe, MAYBE, you should simply leave us alone. I have feeling your depressing message ain’t a-gettin’ through.
Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year to all.
And belated Happy Hanukkah to our Jewish friends.
Christmas is controversial … only to Team Satan.
… and the fact that it strikes a universal cord …
… while also celebrating the birth of Jesus …
… is the reason they hate it.
The idea of social justice comes from Christianity.
James Talarico to Ilana Glazer on her show “It’s Open”, December 25, 2025, available on You Tube: “My tradition as well as the Jewish tradition warn us about the dangers of concentrated wealth an power and this is throughout our Scriptures. And so I think it is incumbent upon people of faith, particularly Christians, to call out this greed, call out this corruption, it hurts people every day… The reason poverty exists is not because we can’t feed the poor, it’s because we can’t satisfy the rich. That’s exactly what we’re seeing with Elon Musk become the first trillionaire. This is a spiritual sickness. What leads a person to accumulate more money than they could possibly spend in a hundred lifetimes when we have people starving in this one?”
James Dell Talarico (born May 17, 1989) is an American politician, Presbyterian seminarian, and former public school teacher serving in the Texas House of Representatives since 2018.[1] He is a member of the Democratic Party and has been called a “rising star” among Texas Democrats.
“The roots of America’s welfare state lie in the Populist-Progressive Era of the late 19th century and early 20th century, especially with the Protestant social gospel movement, which held that Christian ethics and “social justice” should drive public policy, including wealth redistribution, trust-busting, graduated tax rates to punish the rich, cradle-to-grave handouts, and missionary-style imperialistic ventures abroad to spread the faith and make the world “safe for democracy.” The concept of social justice, which jettisoned the idea that we actually earn and deserve what we get in life, was first adopted by the Jesuit Luigi Taparelli in the 1840s, as drawn from the work of St. Thomas Aquinas.” – Holy Scripture and the Welfare State
ByRichard M. Salsman
“The idea of social justice comes from Christianity.”
Not Salsman again!!!
Is this what the look and feel of desperation and depression looks and sounds like.
Don’t you have anything a little more up lifting for us?
Atheists want to celebrate Jesus birth, but only if it’s a make believe myth.
“Christmas in America is an exuberant display of human ingenuity, capitalist productivity, and the enjoyment of life. Yet all of these are castigated as “materialistic”; the real meaning of the holiday, we are told, is assorted Nativity tales and altruist injunctions (e.g., love thy neighbor) that no one takes seriously.
In fact, Christmas as we celebrate it today is a 19th-century American invention. The freedom and prosperity of post-Civil War America created the happiest nation in history. The result was the desire to celebrate, to revel in the goods and pleasures of life on earth. Christmas (which was not a federal holiday until 1870) became the leading American outlet for this feeling…
Santa Claus is a thoroughly American invention. There was a St. Nicholas long ago and a feeble holiday connected with him (on December 5). In 1822, an American named Clement Clarke Moore wrote a poem about a visit from St. Nick. It was Moore (and a few other New Yorkers) who invented St. Nick’s physical appearance and personality, came up with the idea that Santa travels on Christmas Eve in a sleigh pulled by reindeer, comes down the chimney, stuffs toys in the kids’ stockings, then goes back to the North Pole.
Of course, the Puritans denounced Santa as the Anti-Christ, because he pushed Jesus to the background. Furthermore, Santa implicitly rejected the whole Christian ethics. He did not denounce the rich and demand that they give everything to the poor; on the contrary, he gave gifts to rich and poor children alike. Nor is Santa a champion of Christian mercy or unconditional love. On the contrary, he is for justice — Santa gives only to good children, not to bad ones.” – Objectivist philosopher Leonard Peikoff, “Why Christmas Should Be More Commercial”
Not Lenny again. And oldie but goody from Christmases past. Go and have a rest T. You and been a very busy boy today, trying to stamp out Christmas. Did you iron your little green grinch suit yet. I detect the odor of stale bitterness.
Still rackin up those upvotes, huh?
He gets as many upvotes as you get today when you ceaselessly rant against him: 0. But he does get some downvotes for his posts, while you get another zero. So I suppose it can be argued that you win. But why not take a breather and let someone else rant against him for a while?
Instead of ranting against me perhaps you should rant against him. My guess is you don’t have the stones.
My general rule is if the writer is using Marxist definition of ‘ Right’ they are a Marxist.
Good article
The world convulses in its spiritually dead condition, slipping toward Hell and judgment.
The Advent, the birth of God’s plan of salvation condemns everything about the secular left.
Are the Democrat/Marxists kidding?
Christmas is so materialistic. It’s all about buying the latest junk, having parties,
eating, drinking, making merry, and watching sports.
Hardly is the Messiah Yeshua/Jesus quoted or seriously mentioned.
I’m so done with plastic Santas and elves and the North Pole.
Crass materialism leaves little room for spiritual nourishment.
You have to keep the economy going
The war on Christmas started around 1985. Jerry Falwell and Pat Roberson were ridiculed, for pointing out that fact.
Jesus said “I am the light of the world” as the gospel of John quotes him. The bible also states that the devil and the world hates the light because it reveals sinfulness in all mankind—sin that prospers and advances in the darkness.
POLITICO IS EXTREME LEFT. aLL THEY DO IS COMPLain
The leftists scum suckers don’t celebrate anything esecpt leftists type celebrations like the Birthday of Lennin we was born on April 22nd/Earthday
You know, as much as I hate to say it, it’s past time to put aside the kid gloves and fight this radical leftist infestation the way they intend to fight us. The right has tried the peaceful route for decades now, and all it’s gotten us is defeat after defeat, and the loss of freedoms and our culture. I say it’s time to fight back with the only thing the radical left understands…violence and unwavering commitment. Sadly, the Republican party is now known as the party of surrender, which has the uncanny ability to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. The time to take a side is rapidly approaching.
It’s long passed.
