Comrade Zohran Mamdani has been the mayor of New York three and a half months now, and so it was time for him to throw himself a party. The New York Post reported Sunday that Mamdani “threw himself a great big bash to celebrate his first 100 days in office, and even launched a website so his faithful comrades can track his ‘achievements’ across the city — despite reneging on numerous campaign promises.”
At his party, the boy mayor even unveiled “a ‘100 days museum,’ which featured a kid-sized podium from his day care announcement, and leftovers from the Taco Bell wrapper and drink he devoured during a March Q&A he gave about fast food worker initiatives.”
That’s right: Mamdani threw a party for himself that featured a museum to himself that continued his wrapper and drink from a Taco Bell meal he ate during a propaganda session in March. And this is not a Babylon Bee story; it’s a genuine news item.
So what is going here? Mamdani has begun to construct his cult of personality. That was only to be expected. Every socialist leader has one.
The cult of personality is a recurring feature of leftist regimes. The autocratic ruler is presented as wise, courageous, and as unflinching in the pursuit of justice as he is unyielding in his fight against injustice. Some analysts have found this incongruous: why would a workers’ state that professes to provide economic and political equality for all exalt one personality above all others? It’s actually a core element of socialist states, and an indispensable one.
This is because socialism and Communism are built upon a big lie. Leftist regimes claim to be all about equity and justice, with everyone treated fairly and given equal access to wealth. In reality, however, socialist and Communism are all about force and theft. Socialist and Communist regimes confiscate wealth from the productive and giving it to the privileged.
This calls for authoritarian rule, for few people outside of the most fanatical ideologues are willing to see the fruits of their labor taken from them and given to those who have not worked for them.
That’s where the cult of personality comes in. In order to make their populations accept authoritarian rule, far-left regimes set out to make an idol out of the ruler. Comrade Lenin or Comrade Stalin or Chairman Mao or Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un are portrayed as loving their people and indeed, devoting their lives to their service. They are wise, virtually all-knowing, serene, and (of course) always right.
The Dear Leader knows what is best for us. It may be hard sometimes, but in the end, his judicious guidance will lead us to the implementation of full socialism, and justice and equitable treatment for everyone. We just have to trust him as we encounter obstacles along the way. Not to do so would be a clear sign of lingering capitalist tendencies.
Zohran Mamdani is just a mayor, albeit of the nation’s largest city. He is not a head of state. He can’t yet go all-in on his socialist inclinations. But he is anxious to show that socialism works. He has been busy from his first moments in office implementing as much of it as he possibly can. That includes the cult of personality.
And so Comrade Mayor vowed to make people love Big Brother: “We hold a mighty responsibility in our hands. It is not just the responsibility of governing with honesty and integrity or delivering relentless improvement — it is to demonstrate that government can fix problems. To prove that government can be worthy of the people it serves.” As Mamdani continues implementing his socialist schemes, this little civic lesson is going to cost New Yorkers dearly.
When the full devastation of Mamdani’s socialist policies are obvious and undeniable in New York City, the true believers can gather at Mamdani’s 100 days museum and feast their eyes on his Taco Bell wrapper. Maybe in time they’ll add the paper plate off which he famously ate rice with his hands on a subway train. Dear Mayor has always sacrificed so much of his own personal comfort for us. He wouldn’t lead us astray, now, would he?

Cult of personality?
Well, building a subsidized grocery taking 30 million to build with the city already owning the land in comparison to grocery stores built by various grocery store chains for between 1-3 million, including the cost of land should tilt every still-breathing NYC resident. These morons for whom this Islamic grifter is seen as a socialist savior can neither add nor subtract.
By the way, there are 10 grocery stores located within several miles of where this tax-payer monstrosity is to be built,
Also, realtors are already reporting that there is a massive increase in NYC residents moving to the garden state and paying over asking price just to get the hell out of NYC.
I guess the residents are seriously myopic and they need only look to the west coast as Newsom’s grift, fraud, crime, homelessness and taxes are running huge business out of the state along with wealthy homeowners, small business and the middle class. THERE GOES TGE TAX BASE!!
