At this point, a homeless government group losing tracks of millions of dollars is normal. The LA version lost track of a whole lot more than $13 million, but Seattle is a smaller city.
But the pattern holds.
Money diverted to ‘homelessness’ is just an entry in a giant fraud machine.
Seattle leaders are calling for major changes to the King County Regional Homelessness Authority (KCRHA) following a forensic evaluation that found significant financial and operational failures within the agency.
The review, commissioned by the City of Seattle and King County and conducted by an outside firm, examined the agency’s operations from its inception through mid-2025. It identified serious issues with internal controls, fiscal management, and accountability, including millions of dollars in unaccounted public funds.
According to city officials, the investigation found the agency was unable to account for about $13 million in public funds. A separate audit cited a negative cash position of $44.7 million as of July 2025 and about $8 million that could not be accounted for.
The next step, much as in LA, will be to set up some sort of alternative organization that will do the same things.

Appears that most of these non profits are the same….Everything goes into the pockets of those in charge and nothing gets filtered to those who need.
The very reason I refuse to donate to anything….Can’t do much about where my tax money goes…..but I refuse to willfully put money in any organization who says they are helping….
Next to be investigated….the ASPCA and all those who appear all teary eyed on the TV….where does all THAT money go?????
Oh and as a PS to my above comment…..it is those who are put in charge of such ‘helpful’ organizations…..Lock them in jail, throw away the key and keep doing that till the end of time…cause THAT Is how long it will take to roust out the criminals.
Much like the substance abuse industry which exists to grow and perpetuate substance abuse, or the pharmaceutical industry that exists to grow and perpetuate sickness. Just wait for the demonic forces unleashed when hallucinogenics come into widespread medical use.
A million here, a million there………. Meh.
They use “No Count” accounting. Let the bank keep track of how much money they have.
We had a system like that (SF Bay Area) for awhile. Just write the checks and hope the bank will cover them. No system of accounting at all. When it was finally audited, 27 million was missing, and the gentleman in charge absconded, never to be heard of again.
13M that’s just chump change to fraud industry.
