The SPLC’s indictment revealed that the organization, which claimed to be fighting the KKK and ‘white supremacists’ was funding them instead. The Southern Poverty Law Center claimed that it was paying informants, but $3 million is a whole lot more than just paying for tips. And at least in the case of the Charlottesville, ‘Unite the Right’ rally, the one that Democrats did their best to falsely link Trump to, and that Biden cited as his reason for running, the SPLC appeared to be paying one of those working on organizing it.
This isn’t too surprising though if you know the SPLC’s history as being set up by Morris Dees, a former Klan lawyer who was good at direct marketing and who bilked a generation of old people out of money by sending them envelopes with pictures of Klansmen on them. (Dees also wanted people to mistake him for being Jewish.) Eventually Dees was ousted over accusations of racism.
Over the years, Freedom Center Investigates documented repeated examples of fraudulent behavior by the SPLC which included efforts to artificially inflate the number of hate groups. The best way to understand the SPLC was that it started out as a fraud that eventually morphed into an authentic woke effort to censor conservatives. But the fraud was always there underneath.
Now the SPLC has been indicted for its underlying crimes.
The SPLC had been financing what it claimed to be fighting in order to cash in on it. And that in some ways is the liberal model for cashing in on the problems that it creates.

If the SPLC declared victory, the staffers would have to get different jobs. Some of them have real nice, high paying jobs that they could no get in the private sector because they have no real skills except socializing and lying.
This is true of every governement department and NGO.
They would rather sell everyone else down the river regardless of race, ethnicity orr anything else rather than declare victory and find a different job.
Also true of UNRWA – UNHCR has an end point to its intervention, when it packs up and moves on to another needy group, whereas UNRWA’s Halal gravy train just goes on running. BTW, on Durkheim, it occurs to me that the anomie to which he attributed the phenomenon of suicide is very similar to multiculturalism/cultural relativism, perhaps making modern psychiatric morbidity unsurprising.
Now that is funny! All these white racists will have to get real jobs, a side hustles or real hobbies now. they will have to grow up.
Actually they have a better chance IMO than the troglydites at the SPLC,
Just like the paid protestors of the Left, these KKK were paid..
Time we put an end to that sh*t!
Sometimes I feel overwhelmed with the continuous anti American diatribes in the MSM. Thank you Daniel Greenfield for giving me hope.
In the end, God will have the final say as to who is in the right and who is in the wrong.
A common concept in government and non-profits appears to be “what to do when the reason for the organization no longer exists”. Possibilities include mission creep (i.e. expand to other areas) and not actually fixing the problem. The SPLC appears to stretch the latter to actively work the other side.
Excellent article. Any news about SPLC being taken down is good news.
I looked up “SPLC indicted” on duck-duck-go and the first result was their irritating but always top posted AI box that said:
“The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) has not been indicted; however, the FBI recently severed ties with the organization, criticizing it for allegedly becoming a ‘partisan smear machine.’ The SPLC continues to assert its commitment to tracking hate and extremism. The Spokesman-Review”
That is the only visible information that the AI first search result presented to anyone looking up “SPLC indicted” like teachers or pundits looking to smear reporting of the indictment as “far right conspiracy theory”.
The next duck-duck-go search result was from the justice.gov web site of The Office of Public Affairs US Department of Justice and it said exactly what the FPM article said: “Press Release: Federal Grand Jury Charges Southern Poverty Law Center for Wire Fraud, False Statements, and Conspiracy to Commit Money Laundering. Tuesday, April 21, 2026. Between 2014 and 2023, the SPLC secretly funneled more than $3 million in donated funds to individuals who were associated with various violent extremist groups including the Ku Klux Klan, Aryan Nations, and National Socialist Party of America.”
After reading the true story, I looked back at the AI box with the false story and noticed a “more” button that revealed the entire word for word contents of the Dept of Justice press release! This AI search’s deliberate manipulation of truth showed only an obscure paper’s far left opinion on the topic while hiding the real government information while also highlighting an SPLC PR lie (“commitment to tracking hate”). The Spokane paper “Spokesman-Review” is obviously a paid propaganda lackey of SPLC as is the programmer (or whatever they’re called) of search items on duck-duck-go.
FPM and Daniel Greenfield provide useful information hidden by the media; however, I stopped commenting here frankly because the constant nasty homophobia and tedious fundamentalist Christianity made the comments feel exactly like what the “left” always say about the “far right”. There are anti-left people who are 100% against the totalitarianism of “woke” but who are not “far right” and are driven away by overdoses of such comments back into the silence of political statelessness. It is what it is. Chaos circling the drain.
Thank you Daniel for covering this. Guess there won’t be any T-shirts for this one.
Surprising? Not at all! Yet this article slightly smears a quite legitimate and absolutely necessary white nationalism (one of many legitimate nationalisms). I have written the “White manifesto” and stand for preservation of the white race – because the whites also have a right for self-preservation in their nations, comprising now only 8-15% of the world population. Nobody financed me, nor do I need it.
SPLC financed factions that distorted white nationalism, fanned it, and discredited it!
Another example. First, I was inspired when I finally discovered the organizers of a Straight Pride parade. However, on closer look, it turned out to be a vile anti-Semite.
Do you see a pattern? Somebody inserts despicable “plants” into the very needed legitimate causes in order to discredit them. This way, somebody protects from criticism the dearest vokerati pets – and simultaneously vilifies the conservative and traditional values.
A conclusion.
When decent people shun off and silence an inconvenient truth, then it is the evildoers who pick it up and weaponize it for their evil purposes.

The Organic Theory: Comparing Society to a Living Organism
I first ran into the Southern Poverty Law Center a number of years ago when some anonymous liberal nut job started leaving copies of their rag, Teaching Tolerance, in the teachers’ workroom. I innocently picked it up and soon found out that, despite the rather impressively published look of their magazine, nearly every article was ridiculously biased, left-wing filth. I remember an article that actually advocated for allowing homosexual kids to kiss in the hallways at school! It didn’t take me long to discover that the Family Research Council had identified the SPLC as an anti-Christian hate group. At that point, I had visions of opening my OWN foundation and naming it the Northern Prosperity Legal Foundation (and publishing a companion magazine named something like “Teaching Common Sense”).
Brilliant that they are getting their comeuppance. It is to be hoped that their website will be taken down, if it hasn’t been already, and that citations from them will now be footnoted regarding their current standing.
Anyone with a functioning brain KNEW that all those phony baloney racist charges were all lies and only meant to keep the citizens divided….A divided population is easier to handle and much easier to manipulate…..and so it goes.
Always knew this organization was full of cheats.
