The simple truth of human nature is that you get more of what you incentivize for good or ill. Our various social crisis, like homelessness, the border invasion and crime, have causes grounded in human nature, but also in the twisted tangle of ideology and cold hard cash.
And the absolutely very last thing to do is paying pro-migrant groups to care for migrants.
The Trump administration has canceled an $11 million contract with Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Miami to house and care for unaccompanied migrant children, a move that will end a decades-long partnership with the federal government.
The Office of Refugee Resettlement, part of the Department of Health and Human Services, has funded the program for years, relying on Catholic Charities to operate what amounts to a federally supported foster care system for children entering the U.S. without parents or guardians, the Miami Herald reported Wednesday.
Federal officials contacted the organization in late March about the cancellation.
The media is spinning this as a ‘feud’ between Trump and Pope Leo, but it was actually a pre-existing move.
And one that makes a lot of sense.
The government should not be putting a dime into any refugee resettlement group, that includes Catholic Charities, which I’ve documented has become increasingly Islamized, Lutheran Social Services, HIAS or any of the secular ones.
This is a social problem that was in part calculatedly invented by advocacy groups for political reasons that has also morphed into a profitable industry. And you absolutely don’t want to pay arsonists to fight fires.
The Catholic Church received around $2.9 billion by the Biden Administration to take care of illegal immigrants in the U.S. Crazy liberal Pope Leo should be forced to give us all that money back and then some. Friggin’ anti-American moochers.
That’s a good idea and wouldn’t have the moral hazard of developing debanking and other forms of doxxing into a fine art.
That is a very popular scam these days.
Communications have gotten so advanced that anyone with even a badly thought up scam, can be sent to billions and if only a minute percent get tricked, it could mount to $$$$$.

Daniel’s basic point is correct, although there is another reason why this contract (and about 40 others) was cancelled: now that the Biden Open Border has been closed by Trump, there aren’t enough unaccompanied minors entering America to require such services. This should remind everyone that Biden’s handlers and the rest of the Democrats were facilitating the sex trafficking of children, and they didn’t care because all that matters to them is power.
