How popular is the Democrat government shutdown to provide health care for illegal aliens? Not very.
The New York Times ran a poll asking if “the Democrats should or should not shut down the government if their demands are not met.”
The only group to favor that idea were… Democrats.
Sen. Chuck Schumer might have averted this disaster, but he lives in terror of AOC primarying him, and so he needs to boost his approval ratings by putting up some kind of fight.
Even if it’s the wrong one and over the wrong thing.
Dems disapprove of their congressional leadership. This is fed by leftist influencers and the DSA who berate the Dems for somehow not having the magical ability to get their way despite being in the minority. This sort of thing worked better in the past when Republicans, whether in the minority or majority, tended to blink.
But now Dems are up against a GOP that seems less prone to blink. And actually welcomes the fight.
Data for Progress (whose data is about as reliable as crypto investments via Whatsapp) claimed that they field tested shutdown language such as “Democrats are taking a stand against this funding package…” and urged a shutdown. Mostly it’s forcing the Dems to commit suicide which is a win-win scenario for the DSA types.
Dems want to run in the midterms and in 2028 by blaming everything on Republicans. The shutdown forces them to take some ownership.

The Dem-O-Rats would rather see America become 3rd World Nation just to force Heathcare for those New Democrat Voters and supporters which we used to call Wetbacks/Illegal Aliens since the Dems are mostly Globalists/Traitors

Speaking of healthcare, I remind everyone of the old refrain: “if you think healthcare is expensive now, wait until it’s free.”
Schumer can either show weakness in the face of AOC, who humiliated him today by saying she should be the negotiator, or submit to political reality. Naturally he chose to show weakness to the Far Left, which will chew him up and spit him out. La Passionara will be the next Senator from New York.
There is nothing to negotiate. AOC wants Trump’s DOGE cuts reversed just as much as Schumer and the rest of the filth in D.C.
Your statement is an underestimation of what AOC wants. She wants nothing less than communism. Socialism is just a pit stop on the way to communism.
When socialists run out of other peoples money to spend, out comes the guns and they become communists. It’s happened that way in most countries that became communist. Worse yet, the people in those countries had no say (no vote) in the matter.
Never mind illegal aliens, your right as a natural born citizen to have other citizens forced to fund your medical bills is not in the Bill of Rights either.
There is NO right to have others forced to pay ANY of your bills, medical, or otherwise.

I have to admit I am of the privileged class. The work my ass off privileged class on eternal and infinite and transecting learning curves. I picked myself up from the streets and got back in the game and now I am sitting comfy with lots of houses and lots of dough and a personal gym/lounge/bunkhouse I built to my current new home a year and a half a go. I’m gonna stay as ripped as I can for as long as I can.
I give to homeless shelters and other charities who provide hope to homeless people. I know what that feels like.
So screw the crooked politicians on all sides and high fives to ethical politicians and I thank GOD everyday for President Trump and his Stellar POTUS 47 cabinet. MAGA and MAHA all the way into the future!!!

I was a featured speaker at a Tea Party rally in front of 700 people. Half the audience was old enough to be on Social Security and Medicare. When I stated “it is not a proper role of government to provide for my health care or retirement,” the applause died down considerably.
Medicare Part D, signed into law by President Bush to take away a campaign issue from Democrats, was simply an intergenerational looting. President Trump and the Republicans deserve the same amount of credit for fiscal responsibility as the Democrats: none.
Don’t tax overtime? Don’t tax tips? Maybe someone can explain why someone who earns $40,000 digging ditches should pay more in taxes than someone earning $40,000 waiting tables.

The GOP Senate stated they would not give Trump his tax-free Social Security for Seniors as it’s cost would have impacted funding for the majority of illegal benefits that were kept in the Big Beautiful Bill. It is why tax-free was watered down for poverty level SS recipients.
The democrats are the demons in the shut down case and I am glad Trump is sticking to his guns on this, but there is a long way to go for the GOP to keep Trump’s promises.
