The Real Genocide: Arab Muslims Murdering Black Africans in Sudan

Now, after a period of quiet, the Arab Janjaweed have reappeared under another name, the Rapid Support Forces, and have been attacking blacks again in the western Sudan. They have just now managed to take over the major city of El-Fasher (Al-Fashir), the last city in Darfur to fall to them. The Arabs have been going house to house, murdering families at will. At the only hospital still working in the city, the Arabs killed 460 patients and medical personnel. But throughout this conflict, the international media seldom mentions that this is an ethnic conflict, of Arabs against blacks. That would put Arabs in a bad light, and that’s not something the media want to do — it might complicate views about the Arab-Israeli war, might even increase sympathy for Israel, and that would never do. Fighters riding camels rounded up a couple of hundred men near the Sudanese city of al-Fashir at the weekend and brought them to a reservoir, shouting racial slurs before starting to shoot, according to a man who said he was among them.

One of the captors recognized him from his school days and let him flee, the man, Alkheir Ismail, said in a video interview conducted by a local journalist in the nearby town of Tawila in the country’s western Darfur region.

“He told them, ‘Don’t kill him,’” Ismail said. “Even after they killed everyone else – my friends and everyone else.”

He said he had been bringing food to relatives still in the city when it was captured by the Rapid Support Forces on Sunday – and, like the other detainees, was unarmed. Reuters could not immediately verify his account.

Ismail was one of four such witnesses and six aid workers interviewed by Reuters who also said people fleeing al-Fashir had been gathered in nearby villages and men separated from women and removed. In an earlier account, one of the witnesses said gunshots then rang out.

The RSF has been systematically separating in Al-Fashir the African women and girls from the men. The former become sex slaves of the RSF fighters; the latter are murdered either on the spot, or after being taken away to parts unknown.

Activists and analysts have long warned of revenge killings based on ethnicity by the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) if they seized al-Fashir – the last stronghold of the Sudanese military in Darfur.

The U.N. human rights office shared other accounts on Friday, estimating hundreds of civilians and unarmed fighters may have been executed. Such killings are considered war crimes….

Just a few days later, by November 1, those “hundreds” of civilians and unarmed fighters killed have become, according to Western sources, “tens of thousands” of civilians killed. And there is no pressure being put on the chief foreign backer of the RSF, the UAE, to stop supplying the RSF with weapons and money.

The RSF’s leadership had ordered investigations into any violations by RSF individuals and several had been arrested, he said, adding that the RSF had helped people leave the city and called on aid organizations to assist those who remained.

The RSF leaders are not investigating their own troops for war crimes. They are actively encouraging the massacre of civilians in al-Fashir.

He said soldiers and fighters pretending to be civilians had been taken away for interrogation. “There were no killings as has been claimed,” the commander told Reuters in response to a request for comment….

One boldfaced lie after another from this RSF commander. “No killings”? There have been tens of thousands of such killings, and they have not stopped in Al-Fashir.

The RSF commander is making the right noises for foreign observers, by claiming to have called on his fighters to protect civilians. But so far, after tens of thousands of killings of civilians, not a single RSF fighter has been arrested. And despite his pledge to punish those harming civilians, he continues to turn a blind eye to the atrocities his men are committing.

For more than two-and-a-half years, the United Arab Emirates has been shipping weapons to the RSF. Everyone in the Middle East, everyone at the UN, everyone in Europe and North America, knows this. But the UAE figures it’s still best to lie. You never know: the lie will be printed, will be spread on social media, and there are always the gullible who are bound to believe it.

The RSF on Thursday posted a video it said showed the provision of food and medical aid to people displaced in Garney. Aid workers said the force may also be trying to keep people in towns it controls to attract foreign aid….

Why would the RSF supply food and medical aid to the very people it has been mass-murdering? Answer: it isn’t. That RSF video showing aid being distributed is a fake, either because it was the only such distribution of aid being made, or even more likely, here was no aid being distributed.

The UN has finally acknowledged, after the RSF takeover of Al-Fashir, the mass killings taking place in Sudan, by holding an emergency meeting of the Security Council. At the General Assembly, too, speakers spoke about the possibility of sending in peacekeepers to prevent the RSF from continuing its industrial-scale murders. The word “genocide” was used. But what was never mentioned was the nature of that “genocide.” It should be said, again and again, loudly: the RSF consists only of Arab combatants, and the people they are killing are black Africans. Let that understanding be proclaimed at the General Assembly, at the U.S. Congress, on nightly news programs, and on social media. Arab Muslims are mass-murdering black Africans in the Sudan. And there, not in Gaza, is the only true “genocide.”
