This is the phenomenon that I recently described in Deep Industry.
President Trump’s 100 days approval rating was at 42%. His rating among government employees was 37%. There was a stark divide there with government employees outside the Beltway giving Trump a 40% rating, close to the national number, while among Beltwayers, Trump was favorably rated by 29%.
This new polling of Fed workers on impeachment is also revealing.
Just 43% of federal workers oppose impeaching Trump, compared to 52% who support it, according to the survey conducted by the Government Business Council, the research arm of Government Executive. Top-ranking civil servants at the GS-13 level and above are more likely to support impeachment, with 57% in favor compared to 46% of those at the GS-12 ranking or below.
Yes. Shocking that higher level government employees are more likely to hate Trump.
57% to 46% is a sizable difference. Ask yourself what accounts for it and you get closer to the source of the problem, which is not the deep state, but the deep industry. It’s government as an industry of unelected officials who really run the country.
