Interesting. In the book, Rambo was meaner and less sympathetic while Chief Thiesel (?) was portrayed in a more positive light and was in fact a Marine veteran who won the Navy Cross, our country’s second highest military honor, in the Korean War. But yeah First Blood was a good movie.
First Blood ended with Rambo’s emotional plea for the way Viet Nam veterans were mistreated back in the 1970s. For those of us who served during that war, it was even more impactful than for Tyler Grey.
