Delegates from 180 countries met up at the UN’s facilities in Geneva to discuss the latest environmentalist plot to ban something.
This time plastic.
The usual game plan for these schemes is to declare that the thing you want to ban (gas stoves, plastic bags, cars, breathing) is an urgent crisis and that the only reason that the ban hasn’t gone through yet is the evil influence of Big ‘Something’ which is determined to destroy the future for its personal profit.
Then it proposes adding a tax to the cost of whatever is being paid, in this case plastic, to fund environmentalist efforts.
Basically, this is an Al Capone shakedown in green socialist drag.
The latest effort to tax, limit and then ban plastic production fell apart though as various delegates quarreled over who was getting the money and how much would be added, and despite a demand from France’s Macron and various other lefty nonprofits like Pew, nothing got done. And he latest shakedown scheme to make your life worse burned a lot of money, a lot of fuel and accomplished nothing.
So they’ll be flying out to South Korea soon enough in their jets to ‘save the planet’ some more.

Plastic is a problem in that it is synthetic (man-made) and takes years to naturally decay and fragment down to micronized (=<5 mm) levels. Plastic has a myriad of industrial and commercial uses many of which are the practical low cost way to go versus other materials. Plus
Because plastic is also recyclable, instead of banning it altogether, why not increase the monetary incentive to recycle all forms of plastic? It would certainly provide a source of income for the poor and homeless and clean up the environment at the same time. We do that now with plastic bottles and news paper.
The real problem with plastics that the UN should be addressing is microplastics. Microplastics is a serious and growing health risk for the majority of the world's population and particularly in 1st world countries. Many autoimmune diseases arises because of the inflammation caused by the presence of microplastics in the body.
In recent years psychiatric studies have linked microplastics to some mental disorders.
Plastic is not one single product, but hundreds. Many plastics are not recyclable. Many that can be recycled are not economically feasible to recycle. Raising the cost of products packaged in plastic to fund recycling is less viable than disposing of the packaging. Outside of first world countries, no means of collection, much less recycling, has proven effective.
Many manufacturers are reducing the plastic in their packaging, substituting paper (presumably from fast-growth sources). Other products once made from petrochemical feed stock are now made from corn starch and the like. Virtually none of these products is used outside of the USA, Western Europe, and a handful of other wealthy countries.
As for tiny plastic particles, you can avoid them by using glass and metal containers. What you can’t expect is that the feckless and corrupt United Nations or the compromised Congress of the United States of America will take effective measures to protect you. History is clear on this matter.
So this is why over the past few months the MSM has been trying to create a microplastics scare.
Fake medical news with flawed medical studies.
Microplastics is not a scare, it’s real. Unfortunately, like in the aviation industry, the number of medical problems and deaths will have to reach a threshold number before people begin to take it seriously and start paying attention.
It’s the same rationale behind why metabolic diseases are so prevalent today. Scientists have been warning about the chemical adulteration of the foods we consume as far back as the 1950s. No one listened. Now we have the SAD diet (Standard American Diet) that is proven to make you fat, sick and demented until it eventually kills you.
Even so, most people don’t care and don’t want to know. They want to eat what they want to eat and if it kills them, that’s their business and right as a free citizen.
To be honest, people like me (health & fitness fanatics) are out of place telling people that if they keep eating & drinking crap (e.g., junkfood, ultra-processed foods, sodas, high carbs, pastries, beer, alcohol, etc.) it’s going to shorten their life and eventually kill them and it’s not a matter of if but how soon.
You may not take microplastics serious now but eventually, you will. Guarantee it.
Make sure everything you buy is encased in plastic. I want you to get your full allotment of micro plastics
Bet they didn’t, and won’t ever say boo to the biggest plastic polluters in the world. They’re probably first in line for the big bucks this is supposed to skim. Talks broke down over who would get how much of the take, lol.
Providing that Asia produces 60% of the Plastic Wate then its time for the Useless Nations to tell them to quit dumping Plastic Wate into the Oceans start recycling or disposing of it properly
