“Islam is largely alien to American history—it certainly didn’t come into the United States on the Mayflower,” freshman Rep. Brandon Gill (R-Tex.) observed last month. Gill continued: “It’s something that we deliberately imported as a matter of immigration policy into our country.”
Quite right. But who, exactly, is the “we” who implemented such a reckless—indeed, suicidal—act of mass cultural importation? It’s a frustratingly difficult question—and one we ought to be asking, especially in light of recent events.
For two years after the Hamas pogrom of Oct. 7, 2023, keffiyeh-clad Muslim students did their best Hitler Youth impressions on American university campuses, clamoring to eliminate the State of Israel and “globalize the intifada” more broadly. A lone wolf ISIS jihadist mowed down 15 and injured 30 others in the Bourbon Street New Year’s Day massacre of 2025. Somalis in Minnesota bilked federal taxpayers to the tune of billions of dollars’ worth of welfare fraud, culminating in a lethal recent bout of neo-Confederate immigration anarchism and the premature political demise of Gov. Tim Walz (D-Minn.). In Dearborn, Mich., the Muslim mayor told a Christian minister he “was not welcome here” because he objected to renaming a local street after a Hezbollah supporter. Outside the nation’s capital, a local mosque held a vigil for “our leader,” the deceased “shaheed” (martyr), Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. And most recently, the Muslim mayor of the nation’s largest city—a man who for years struggled mightily to condemn Hamas and intifada itself—not only refused to condemn an ISIS-inspired IED attack by two radicalized young Mohammedans, but proceeded to then host Hamas apologist Mahmoud Khalil at Gracie Mansion for an iftar diner. Most recently, on Thursday a radicalized Muslim opened fire at Virginia’s Old Dominion University.
There is endless more where that came from. Suffice it to say that America’s grand, decades-long experiment in welcoming in all peoples and all cultures is not going well. And it is going particularly poorly when it comes to those followers of the Religion of Peaceä. It turns out that Islam and Americanism go together about as well as the Hatfields and the McCoys—or Bill Clinton and chastity.
Which brings us back to our earlier questions: Who voted for this? Who did this? And how did this happen? And make no mistake: Islamic immigration and the insidious Islamization of American society, more generally, is happening. We do not merely know that from the myriad anecdotal stories about the adhan (call to prayer) being blasted from minarets at obnoxiously early times in cities like Minneapolis and Brooklyn. We have some numbers to back it up too.
At the time of the landmark Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965, there were an estimated 100,000 to 150,000 Muslims living in the United States. At the time of the 2020 United States Religion Census, there were an estimated 4.5 million Muslims in the country. By the year 2050, that number is estimated to nearly double to 8.1 million. Huge swaths of the American Muslim community, unsurprisingly, are immigrants—those, in theory (!), who We the People through our duly elected representatives chose to bring here because we believed they would have a positive impact on the common good. Instead, we got D.C.-area mosque vigils for a despotic monster who sought “Death to America,” a staggering 54% food stamp rate and 73% Medicaid rate for Minnesota Somalis, campus activism on behalf of numerous U.S. State Department-recognized Foreign Terrorist Organizations, Ivy League calls for the “total eradication” of Western civilization, and more.
Not exactly a smashing success, it it?
In the early decades of the republic, Presidents Thomas Jefferson and James Madison waged the First and Second Barbary Wars against radical Muslim pirates—the Houthis of their day—off the northern African coast. To this day, The Marines’ Hymn famously makes reference to “fight[ing] our country’s battles” off “the shores of Tripoli.” In fact, those wars were highly instrumental in the initial building up of the U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps into the world-renowned fighting forces they are today. Now, Americans seem to be letting Muslims—millions of them—into the country through a very wide front door. Far from fighting them or recognizing their comprehensive religio-political worldview as antithetical to the American way life, we are rolling out the red carpet (and doling out fraudulent welfare benefits).
But still: Who is doing this? And why are they doing so?
The convoluted and deeply unsatisfying as to “who” is an unholy amalgamation of bipartisan “legal immigration good, illegal immigration bad”-besotted lawmakers, ideologically inclined Deep State immigration bureaucrats, and well-connected leftist and Islamic NGOs, all of whom work in disastrous tandem to disburse visas to millions of people who hate us and want our nation and civilization to die. The answer as to “why” is a bit more straightforward: A zealous belief in multiculturalism and unwavering adherence to the lie that “all cultures are equal,” on the one hand, and a desire to dilute and distort America’s ecumenical Judeo-Christian biblical inheritance, on the other hand. And for the Islamic NGOs, they get their hijra—soft jihad by means of mass migration.
There’s just one problem—well, one problem other than that whole thorny Islamization thing. And that problem is this: We the People never actually voted for any of this. The massive spike in the Muslim population in America has virtually all been effectuated by shadowy immigration bureaucrats, who control the keys to America’s esoteric visa disbursement regime, as well as distasteful and America-hating NGOs. There has never been a single instance where the American people, or even a statistically significant subgroup of the American people, have directly weighed in on the wisdom of large-scale importation of Mohammedans into the centuries-old Judeo-Christian biblical tapestry that is the United States of America.
The patriots of 1776 fought a long and bloody war, among other reasons, because of the soft tyranny of Mother Britain’s taxation of the colonists without representation. But in the post-1965 Immigration and Nationality Act paradigm of mass Muslim immigration to America, we are dealing with something considerably more serious: societal transformation without representation. This particular problem is, of course, in accord with decades of unlawful accumulation and solidification of power in the administrative state, and away from our duly elected representatives in Congress, more generally. But in this case, the problem is even worse because it directly implicates the most foundational question in all of politics, going back at least as far as Aristotle two-plus millennia ago: Who are we as a polity, as a nation?
To deprive the American people of any meaningful say in this matter is a scandal of historic proportions. And it’s a scandal, as we’ve already seen, with positively disastrous results. Even worse, we are now only at the very beginning of this grand experiment in Islamization. Who knows what things might look like a few decades from now? (I’ll hazard a guess: not great!)
The good news, from a jurisprudential perspective, is that the current U.S. Supreme Court views administrative power quite skeptically and is now in the midst of a years-long effort to restore something resembling the original tripartite separation of powers construct. The bad news is America is now stuck with a gargantuan subversive fifth column Islamist problem from sea to shining sea. All policy options, such as sweeping immigration bans, mass deportations, and denaturalizations of wrongly naturalized citizens, must be on the table to help remedy—or at least assuage—the problem the best we possibly can.
And ultimately, we must reclaim the power to dictate who we are, as a people, and what our collective national destiny will be. In this, the 250th anniversary of our nation’s Founding, it’s certainly what our Founders would have wanted us to do.

If migrants follow the laws, I don’t see a problem. If they break the laws, they are liable, and face the consequences. If you want to regulate migration from Islamic countries, you need to change the laws.

Following the law is not enough. First of all, any migrant who entered the country illegally or overstayed a visa has not followed the law and must go. Then there are the immigrants who entered the country legally for the sole purpose of never having to work and freeload off the nanny state benefits for life. These non-productive freeloaders contribute nothing to the country and should never have been allowed to come here in the first place.

To follow the law, a migrant must be lawfully present in the USA. No one who entered the country without permission is following the law. The present law permits the President to decide whether anyone from any country may lawfully migrate to the USA. But the larger issue is that Islam declares national borders to mean nothing and the Islamic caliphate to be the sole legitimate government. Therefore, no follower of Islam can be a loyal American.
No one is following current immigration laws, lest there be a whole lot less Mohammedans in this country if they did. The bigger point is that the very essence of this country is completely incompatible with Islam, and by extension so are the cultures incompatible.
How about lying on all the documents Muslims sign to get and stay in our Country. Right there is enough cause to not allowing Muslims immigration. In the mean time we should put into law, there will be no alternative jurisprudence allowed. Meaning no Sharia law, that supersedes American law. Example: if a Muslim commits armed robbery,(let’s say in Dearborn MI,) on a business. The local community DOES NOT get to handle the matter in a Sharia Court. You live in America, you abide by American Constitional law. Period.

In the deep recesses of the lowest part of their gut, Muslims do not want to be here. They are unhappy, and don’t know why. It is because they are not FREE to entertain the most basic parts of their sick religion. They cannot hear the “Call to prayer” at 4 AM in the morning; they can’t shut down commerce and close all shops five times a day to pray; they can’t take extra wives, goats or little boys for their pleasure without social consequences; it sickens them to watch someone eat a cheeseburger during Ramadan; they’re bitter the kuffar’s in their midst aren’t paying “jizya”; it angers them that we have Symphony Orchestras like the Boston Symphony, when Islam forbids music (there is NO “Riyadh Philharmonic Orchestra”, or ever will be… They would have slaughtered Mozart in a heartbeat…); it hurts them deeply that some of their Property Tax must go to educating girls, and these are only the beginning of their sorrows! Any terrorist act done to us to “convert” or “punish” us is cause for celebration! Case in point: 9/11! I saw it firsthand; Saudi’s that day had an extra “bounce” in their stride – it was disgusting!
“Change the laws”? Congressional districts are enormous. Increasing the size of congress is problematic, and even if it were accomplished, it could lead to a chaotic legislature. Without a reasonable means of addressing the present density of representation, the US will not get back to a country with representation the way the founders envisioned it. Even raising this question usually gets me bogged down in a tedious scolding about how the founders had an unfairly limited franchise. I am in no way suggesting that the franchise be limited the way it once was. But I have never gotten anyone past a tirade of self righteousness and false accusation or occasionally the alternative of some glib dismissal of the subject.

In the 18th Century, Samuel Johnson said, “There is no occupation more innocent than the honest accumulation of money”–by which he of course meant the honest, lawful earning of it, either through honest work or by honest, entrepreneurial business.
I haven’t the slightest objection to a man’s becoming rich through honest, lawful business–J. Paul Getty is a good example of that (when he was once asked what his “secret” was to becoming America’s richest man at the time, he replied: “Rise early; work hard; strike oil”). What I object to is becoming rich through fraud, theft, crime, bribery, treason, and the impoverishment and destruction of innocent others’ lives.
Which is a perfect (and the only possible) explanation of how so many political office-holders (almost all of them Democrats) start their “public service,” in their first campaign, with negligible reported net worth, and then, inexplicably, become multi-millionaires, or in some cases literally billionaires, within a few years, or sometimes a couple of decades, in office (e.g. the Pelosis, the Clintons, and the Obamas).
Don’t tell me that they made that kind of money so quickly by “reading the Wall Street Journal” and simply made the right guesses, at the right time, about “cattle futures” or the stock market!

During the synagogue attack two days ago there was a member of the temple who was so traumatized she was almost crying. No one was hurt except the potential shooter. This woman was prattling on about repairing the world….that B.S. Tikkun Olam stuff. How useless was that. Of course Temple Israel is the largest Reform Synagogue in the country with a female rabbi. I recall that, decades ago, there was a tough Jew–I think, if I’m not mistaken, he was actually a Rabbi, but I can’t remember his name (help me with that, my fellow FPM readers, if you can)–in NYC who founded, and led, an organization of tough, young Jews named “The Jewish Defense League.”
They were very similar to Curtis Sliwa’s “Guardian Angels”–never carried weapons, but were always alert, young, muscular, skilled in unarmed combat, and committed to protecting Their People from violence and criminal attack.

strict pacifism to the justified use of force for protection. While instructing followers to “turn the other cheek” (Matt 5:39) regarding personal insults, he also told disciples to buy swords for protection (Luke 22:36), indicating a nuanced view on practical safety.

The idea that Congress represents you is very humorous. Today Congress/politics is a career. It has been since 1860. It is the only way second and third class lawyers can have a career path.

Trump is a victim (if you will) of his wealth. It’s been my observation that wealthy people tend to see the world differently from the average person.To them, all religions are the same and consequently, equal.
Of course, that’s not true but you have to understand religion on a granular level to realize that. Most wealthy people, the ones that I know, have neither the time, interest or inclination to understand religion at that level or at any level. They regard religion as the bailiwick of average people which they are not.
I basically agree with you with a modification. Some, if not most businessmen believe that the ultimate goal of everyone is to make more money. Those businessmen can’t conceive of anyone having any other higher value that would TRUMP (pun intended) the goal of making more money. Additionally they believe that anyone who does is a fool. Hence the blind spot and weakness of many businessmen/politicians for wealthy Muslims who see money as tool for spreading Islam.

The result was to change the overall pattern of the invasion from Mexicans and brown, H1B-type economic migrants – a serious problem – can convert it into South American and Muslim migrants.

In the course of the last two years of pro-Hamas rioting several commentators have referred to these “protesters” as “Hitler youths”. Membership in the Hitler Youth in Nazi Germany was compulsory for boys ages 8 to 18. They generally did not engage in rioting and looting. Therefore, comparing students at colleges and universities to young boys is spurious and specious at best. Campus rioters are adults and voluntarily engage in these activities. A much more fitting comparison would be the SA, a Nazi organization that was not compulsory. Its members were adults and joined of their own free will.

What might be needed is an undated and revised version of the Monroe Doctrine, which was originally designed to stop any further colonialism of the Americas by the European nations, as Spain, Portugal, and France.
That Monroe doctrine included the Latin Countries In other words; it would halt European colonialism also in those lands.
