It may surprise some how eagerly the liberals who claim to believe in gay rights, make abortion their sacrament and worship at the altar of secularism make common cause with the Islamic enemies of all that they supposedly believe in. But it really shouldn’t because they don’t believe it.
From the Hitler-Stalin pact to the white liberal worship of the Black Panthers, it’s long since been clear that what they claim to want is very different from what they really, really want.
Liberals claimed to want civil rights, racial coexistence and integration, but even well before Martin Luther King’s body was cold in the ground, they were enraptured by Malcolm X, the Black Panthers and later outright terrorist groups like the Black Liberation Army and their illegitimate offspring like Black Lives Matter. Well before the official Red-Green alliance between Islam and the Left, white liberals had made common cause with a racist, misogynistic, supremacist and occasionally Islamic terrorist movement bent on destroying America.
Despite the acid-tongued observations of everyone from S. I. Hayakawa to Tom Wolfe that appeared to gain new life during the years of BLM posturing, this was not really about black people. And in the mind of the white liberals screaming that there’s genocide in Gaza and that Gitmo was a concentration camp, it’s not really about Islam either. If it had been, white liberals would not have also genuflected before the mostly fake Indians of the American Indian Movement, the racists of La Raza boasting about their master mixed race or any of the other lunatic fringe groups boosted by the Ford Foundation, the media and academia into real power.
It’s really simple if you understand that white liberals want to be hated. The DEI struggle sessions and race dinners of recent years at which members of an extremely well-heeled class paid good money for black DEI experts to tell them that they were worthless human garbage, forever doomed to be racist by their tainted DNA and skin color, ought to have settled the issue.
What’s complicated is that white liberals don’t suffer from a lack of self-esteem. They have far too much of it. And that’s the problem. Conformists love their class, egomaniacs hate it. The average white woke has come of age convinced of his, her or xer specialness which has been tragically stifled by the elite overproduction of its parents, peer group and society. Outside of school shootings, leftist politics is how the overproduced elites turn on each other.
Like Romans, they turn to an inferior Pretorian Guard to winnow their ranks, remove their rivals and destroy their entire class. They seek out not victims, but aggressors playing victims, who will denounce their entire class as an unjust institution while recognizing that out of the systemically racist entities of their country, society and family, they alone are the good ones.
The great dream of white liberal is to be accepted by a minority person. But not just any minority person. The only minority whose regard they truly cherish, rather than condescend to, is the minority who otherwise hates every other white person on earth, but appears to accept them. Only such a minority is not an ‘Uncle Tom’, subservient to the class, society and country they hate so much, but is admirable for being ready, willing and able to go to war against it.
Every white liberal wanted to party with Huey Newton. Then Obama. And now Mamdani. The radicals who hate America know this and actively count on it. Pretending to be friends with white liberal idiots and making themselves seem so cool that white liberals will pant to hang out with them is nine tenths of their public persona. Even though the persona is invariably fake.
Self-hating liberals need a movement that violently hates their class, but that also offers a personal opportunity for them to rise above their class. Rather than betraying their class, they believe that they are finally overcoming it in the fires of revolution. This combination of class hatred and self-love defines their politics and most of the events of the last 70 years.
But this is not a recent phenomenon. And it’s not about race. Before the politics of race, white liberals yearned to be working class. They tried (and failed miserably) to turn to farming. They wore blue collar clothes. They wrote about the lives of coal miners. They delivered speeches calling for the workers and peasants to unite. They abandoned the working class when they found groups who plausibly hated them even more and wanted to destroy them as a class.
Though they may call themselves progressives, their form of progress has been to revert from the modern to the medieval, from miners to minor suicide bombers and from railroad workers to Jihadis who blow up trains and barring the arrival of space aliens who want to destroy the planet, there is probably nowhere further down to go to find a more extreme form of hatred.
It was never about justice, but about justifications for utter destruction.
From Marx to Mohammed, the extreme ideologies they willingly act as useful idiots for call for their elimination in the name of some form of justice. This is not a coincidence. Any ideology that did not call for fundamental transformation, for a total revolution and a forcible redistribution of everything would never be able to win their allegiance. It isn’t suffering that they value or it would have been the African genocides that would have been their first priority, not Marxism.
Abroad, they cared about human rights in Vietnam until the Communists won, they cared about oppression in Cuba until the Communists won, they cared about tyranny in Egypt and Iran until the Islamists took over and they care about the suffering in Israel until they can destroy Israel. And the same goes for America, Europe and every country dysfunctional enough for its upper middle class to overproduce the same narcissistic spawn who read too many bad novels, sneer at their parents and vow to move to somewhere cool and campaign to abolish America.
The problem isn’t that they love to be hated, it’s that they think they deserve to be hated for their class and loved for themselves, when really they deserve to be hated as individuals. After destroying countries, societies and economies to feed their twisted egos, they can never get enough of being outraged at the things they hear about on NPR or read in the New York Times, not because they genuinely care, but because they think that virtue signaling somehow makes them superior to everyone else.
It doesn’t. It just makes them even more hated. Just not by those they want to be hated by.

If Liberals want to be hated the bigger problem is that conservatives want to be loved. And need to be loved if they are going to get elected by voters, liberal and conservative, who feel entitled to free stuff from government.
The elected Republicans go along to get along in order to be loved, after all, it would be SELFISH and therefore evil to advocate a policy of dismantling the American welfare state and the government safety net and telling all Americans no more free stuff or redistribution of wealth from us Republicans. Economically and financially you’re now on your own, if you can’t afford something you need you’ll have to depend on the voluntary charity of your family, friends, or the kindness of strangers but not on a Republican government.

Would you like to try and find any disaster that has not seen the same sort of response? Like I give a sh*t what Rand thought of altruism. Capitalism and Objectivism are incompatible. Capitalism is very real and Objectivism always sounds like two jew hating Sebastions dancing.
I think it is even simpler: Progs hate truth. They can tolerate a specific truth if it used in the service of their hatred. But that hate even simple truths that lead people toward higher truth. Though certainly many of them are abject idiots, far more simply hate good things. They know women’s lib is silly, that kids need dads, the communism has never worked, that perversion destroys lives, that trans is self-delusion, etc, etc, etc.
They fight for these things because they hate the obvious truths on the other side of each one.

Every lie you embrace, no matter how small, moves you toward every bad effect and emotion; self-hatred, self-deception, depression, confusion, doubt, fear, even suicide. People in mental institutions are often those who have indulged in lies. Agoraphobics started out giving in to one irrational fear (a lie) and end up housebound. OCD folks at some point gave in to the urge (lie) to manifest a behavior that grew and multiplied enslaving them.
Progs have gone through the same seduction but manifest different sets of symptoms.
They all accept each other’s delusions because they know it will be reciprocated and give them backing to defend their bubble of lies. They have created a “community” (cough cough) of others who agree to pretend they are. For many years I’ve believed that left wing socio-political ideology, particularly that of the Baby Boomer generation was little more than a posture and fashion statement based on hollow melodramatic slogans. It lacked genuine substance. Instead, it quickly mutated into a nationwide merchandising campaign. Love beads, peace medallions, protest buttons and bumper stickers could be easily bought at your local department store. What the Left believed was a serious struggle, many others just saw a frivolous caricature they couldn’t buy into.
Too bad for the liberals. They wanted to be feared and hated. All they got was mockery and ridicule.
The bell bottom pants, halter tops and hip huggers became nationwide fashions. Love that capitalism!

But they are also like three year old children. Give a three year old a hammer and some lego bricks and watch its actions; it will use the hammer to smash the lego. Why do they do that? Because that’s what children do. How do you stop it? Well, firstly you don’t applaud it and reinforce destruction as a good thing. Secondly, if the behaviour persists, a good slap on the legs helps a lot in clarifying their minds. Children need to be trained into good behaviour and that’s been absent from the last 3 or 4 generations, all over the Western world.
