It’s unsettling how reading, listening or viewing them is depressing, unmooring/gaslighting and dehumanizing. Iran. Valentine’s Day, 1979.
Kenneth Kraus, a 22-year-old Marine on a security tour, was returning to the U.S. Embassy from breakfast. The shah, propped up by the Americans, had fled a month earlier. The long-exiled Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini was back.
“There was a sense in the air that something was coming down,” Kraus said.
At 10:28 a.m., it did.
“A bunch of fires and weapons started going off,” Kraus said. “At first, just rifles and pistols, and then you could hear automatic-weapons fire. And then sustained automatic-weapons fire.”
That February day in 1979, in an attack that appears on few timelines of Iran-U. S. relations, Kraus was shot, taken captive and tortured, then sentenced to death by a kangaroo court.
“How the hell am I still here?” he wondered this week. “There’s no friggin’ way I should be alive.”
Daniel, I was a teenager when all this went down. As a teenager I remember. Why? Because my father was a retired USAF fighter pilot and my best friend’s sister was married to a Persian. Yes, we are at war with Iran and the usual suspects are blaming Israel for dragging the US into it.

Rubio’s comment caught on among skeptics of the war from both the far right and Left. Conservative commentator Matt Walsh, meanwhile, shared a video of Rubio’s initial statement and tweeted, “So he’s flat out telling us that we’re in a war with Iran because Israel forced our hand. This is basically the worst possible thing he could have said.”
Rubio went on to clarify his statement, but it was too late. Too many believe Bibi/Israel manipulated, persuaded, etc, Trump into this war that will only benefit Israel. Trump isn’t weak. Nobody manipulates Trump, or drags him into a war. If Trump didn’t want any part of this war he would have talked Bibi out of it, but after consulting with his team, and considering the negotiations with Iran went sour, Trump decided to go ahead and attack Iran.
This war needs to end quickly. The last thing we need is lingering high gas prices and a stock market in a free fall. That will hurt us in the mid terms.
We need to wipe out Iran at all cost!! What? You’d rather have your tax dollars used to house and feed illegals put up in hotels in NYC and other places? Remember that?
The fact that the need for this pamphlet exists testifies to the questionable nature of this war. I am opposed to it even while I am against 1) Muslim domination in Iran and everywhere and 2) want Israel, through God’s grace and protection, to occupy a homeland in safety and peace. I am unconvinced the benefits of this war and our alliance with Israel will outweigh the costs, the most precious being the lives of our soldiers.
George Washington was right about foreign entanglements. All the money, lives and resources could be directed to restoring our own nation, which has no business inflaming WW3.

That questions exist (about policy or war) does not erase the need for good policy or war. Power must be exercised in governance, even though it is possible for power to be abused and questions asked. The general rule is “Misuse / Abuse does not take away use.”
Committing American blood and treasure to yet another middle eastern regime-change war is an abuse of American power. How can we expect this one to be different from all the others? Not one of those endeavors has made us stronger or better, and our reputation and national strengths have suffered.
A majority of people in the U.S are against another regime change war in the middle east, despite constant propaganda to get us onboard. I am one of them.

America has been at war with Iran for 47 years. Just as all Kuffars have been at war with Islam for 1400 years.

I do believe Trump acted NOW, independently, not because of Bibi or Israel, but because his attitude is “if not now, when? and “if not me, then who? … He wants his foreign policy legacy to be that Gaza / Venezuela / Iran / Ukraine / Cuba (?) were dealt with on his watch …

Thanks for setting a lot of people straight on what the rationale is all about with Iran. I find it sad that so many don’t know about the damage of appeasing radical Islam. When all the weapons that nation has are done for, that part of this world might change for the positive. A very worthwhile goal indeed.
