[Order Michael Finch’s new book, A Time to Stand: HERE. Prof. Jason Hill calls it “an aesthetic and political tour de force.”]
Mehdi Hasan, the anti-Israel propagandist who was dropped as a commentator last year by NBC for his outrageous charges against Israel, has now outdone himself, declaring on X/Twitter that Israel’s “genocide” in Gaza has been “worse than that of the Nazis.” Facing a firestorm of criticism, he has deleted the post, but has failed to publicly distance himself from it. More on his original remark about Israel’s “genocide” can be found here: “Mehdi Hasan posts, then deletes about ways ‘Gaza genocide’ worse than Holocaust,” Jerusalem Post, October 14, 2025:
Anti-Israel journalist Mehdi Hasan claimed there were ways in which the “Gaza genocide” is worse than other genocides, including the genocide in Rwanda and the Holocaust, in a now-deleted Monday post to X/Twitter.
“One of the ways in which the Gaza genocide is worse than a lot of previous genocides – Rwanda, even the Holocaust – is that you didn’t have Hutus or Nazis mocking the genocide after it was over. They were shunned/deradicalized/prosecuted,” Hasan wrote, according to saved screenshots of the post.
Hasan’s comment came in response to a post on X by Free Press columnist Eli Lake, who joked about “a genocide against the indigenous tunnels of Gaza.”…
Eli Lake was not “mocking” a genocide; he was mocking those who misapplied the word “genocide” to what has been going on in Gaza. In the last two months, “genocide” has become the most frequent charge flung at the Jewish state. It is absurd. “Genocide” requires intent, but the Israelis have not shown any “intent” to wipe out the people in Gaza. In fact, the IDF has made tremendous efforts to minimize civilian casualties, mainly by dropping millions of leaflets, sending millions of text messages, and making millions of robocalls, all to warn Gazans to leave areas or buildings about to be targeted. The result has been that to date, only 20,800 Gazan civilians have died as a result of combat, or less than 1% of the 2.2 million people in Gaza. Hasan, like so many other enemies of Israel, chooses to ignore the IDF’s campaign to minimize civilian casualties.
Hasan has since posted a clarification of the now-deleted post, stating that he was making his point “clumsily.” Still, he did not retract the sentiment, claimed that those criticizing his statement were making “bad-faith” attacks, and said “shame” on those who do not believe the Israel-Hamas War constituted a genocide.
“There was no offense meant to the Jewish community, and I abhor and condemn all genocides, unlike those pro-Israel politicians and journalists who defend or, worse, deny the current Gaza genocide. Shame on them,” Hasan wrote.
Those who “deny the current Gaza genocide” do so because, in fact, there has been no “genocide.” Let’s do the math one more time: Hamas has reported a total of 67,000 deaths in Gaza. The IDF reports that it has killed 26,000 Hamas combatants since October 7, 2023. In addition, historically, 800 people die in Gaza every month from diseases and accidents. Over 24 months of war, that amounts to 19,200 people who have died from causes unrelated to combat. 67,000-26,000=41,000-19,200=21,800.
To repeat: less than 1% of the Gazan civilians have died as a result of the combat. Does that sound like “genocide” to you?
Will Mehdi Hasan ever concede that there has been no “genocide” in Gaza and that to use that term is to debase it? No, of course not.

The charge of genocide against Israel has not been limited to the period since Oct. 7, 2023. It has been applied to time since 1948 whether or not Israelis were even in Gaza. Such a “genocide” defies world history. No other has resulted in the population targeted for genocide increasing its population multiple times over.
Ironically, the line from the Islamic/Leftist Axis of evil has always been that the Holocaust was a myth to justify the titanic libel of European Jews colonizing so-called “palestine”
Worse than a holocaust that they claim never happened in the first place. I’m getting whiplash
Immoral liars tell lies and hate the truth. Islam as a true Godly religion is a lie. Leftism/Socialism/Communism as humane and beneficial to humanity is a great lie.
“Will Mehdi Hasan ever concede that there has been no ‘Genocide’ in Gaza?”
No.
Mehdi Hasan is an islamic terrorist propagandist.
It’s his job to lie and promote hate and violence.
