Order Robert Spencer’s new book, Holy Hell: Islam’s Abuse of Women and the Infidels Who Enable It: HERE.
New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani on Thursday put to rest any lingering doubt about whether or not he is a communist, when he said, to the disgust of people worldwide who have lived under the boot of socialist tyranny, “We will replace the frigidity of rugged individualism with the warmth of collectivism.” Hardest hit, however, although they will never, ever admit it, much less issue a retraction or an apology, are the many leftist establishment media news outlets that insisted during Mamdani’s mayoral campaign that he was not really a communist at all.
Mamdani’s statement during his recent inaugural address came as no surprise. Mamdani made his authoritarian inclinations clear last November, when he won the New York City mayoral election and said this during his victory speech: “We will prove that there is no problem too large for government to solve and no concern too small for it to care about.” It was also clear several years before Mamdani ran for mayor, when in 2021 he reminded a socialist audience about “other issues that we firmly believe in, whether it’s BDS or whether it is the end goal of seizing the means of production.”
As Intifada on the Hudson: The Selling of Zohran Mamdani shows, Mamdani has also made his communist tendencies clear on numerous other occasions. On his rapper Instagram account “bayaye27,” where he posted from 2015 to 2019, he used as the featured image not a photo of himself, but of the rapper Lil Wayne wearing a red shirt emblazoned with the word “COMMUNIST.” Nevertheless, the establishment media has been determined to ensure that whatever you may think of Zohran Mamdani, you must never, ever get the idea that New York City’s new mayor is a communist. Why, the very idea is absurd!
The establishment media has been particularly avid to brand this idea absurd because one of those who was advancing it was none other than President Donald Trump. On June 25, 2025, the day after Mamdani defeated Andrew Cuomo in the Democratic mayoral primary, Trump called Mamdani a “100% Communist Lunatic.” When asked if he really was a communist, as Trump had asserted, Mamdani was definite: “No, I am not.” He claimed that “Donald Trump is attacking me because he is desperate to distract from his war on working people. We must and we will fight back.” Mamdani also implied that Trump’s real motive was (of course!) racism and xenophobia.
Mamdani could also be sure that the establishment media would run interference for him, and it did so with alacrity. Deutsche Welle (DW) informed the world that “political scientists and experts agree that the ‘communist’ label is inaccurate. Mamdani does not advocate for state control of all industries or the abolition of private property — core tenets of communism.”
DW did not mention Mamdani’s notorious statement about the “end goal of seizing the means of production.” Neither did the Associated Press, which made the same false claim about Mamdani not believing that the state should own everything: “While Trump and other opponents keep calling Mamdani a communist, he identifies as something different: a democratic socialist. He believes government should play a role in reducing economic disparity, but he doesn’t advocate for a communist system where property is collectively owned.”
The Observer, which identifies itself as “the independent newspaper serving Notre Dame, Saint Mary’s and Holy Cross,” commanded: “Stop calling Mamdani ‘communist.’” And here we were told yet again: “Mamdani is not advocating a centrally planned economy; thus, he cannot be a communist.” Yet there is no record of Mamdani ever having retracted, repudiated or regretted his 2021 statement about seizing the means of production.
On Dec. 25, 2020, the Communist Party of India in the Puducherry territory, which adds the clarifying term “Marxist” to its name in parentheses, posted praise on Twitter for the youthful Marxist mayor of the city of Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala: “Comrade Arya Rajendran, age 21 new Mayor of Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. She will be the youngest mayor of a major city in the world. Here she leads a detachment of Red Volunteers in @CPIMKerala. #CPIM #LeftAlternative #Communist.”
Mamdani shared this tweet from the Communist Party of India (Marxist) Puducherry with this comment: “them: so what kind of mayor does nyc need right now?” Mamdani followed this with “me:” with the colon indicating that what followed would be his recommendation for the kind of mayor that New York City needed. He then quoted the tweet from the Indian Marxists, indicating that in his view, the kind of mayor that New York City needed was someone like the Marxist Arya Rajendran. Someone like, say, Zohran Kwame Mamdani.
Will the international media apologize for misleading its still considerable audience about what Zohran Mamdani is all about? Come on, man!

It’s the United States Constitution along the economics of free enterprise that is most proper and fitting for America. Not the flawed and faulty economics of Karl Marx which Zohran Mamdani to blindly favors and strives to impose on New York City.
Marxist Mamdani therefore is very un-American , he should be expelled from office and from the US/
As the former US President, Theodore Roosevelt, had well-spoken when he declared in a speech “There can be no fifty-fifty Americanism in this country. There is only room here for only hundred percent Americanism, only for those who are Americans and nothing else.”
Communist ,Zohran Mamdani,, wants to abolish the prisons which would free many vicious psychopaths and sociopaths to attack and maliciously harm decent peaceful law abiding citizens, Such criminal chaos and would destroy New York City beyond repair , the colossal damage to it do would be so terrible that is would be irreversible .
Furthermore, in time would spread to other State and cities across America.
With this policy of disaster Mamdani, has clearly exposed his Communist side of his comrades of the Red/Green alliance .
Mamdani sinister scheme freeing the criminals which would be very destructive to the United States is a reflection of founder of Communism, Karl Marx , who had written “If we can but weld our souls together, then with contempt shall I fling my glove in the world’s face, then I shall stride through the wreckage a creator !”
Can we blame these politicians? Mamdani was transparent about who he was I’ll give him that. It’s the NYC voters who are to blame.
The Jews voted for Cuomo 63% to 33% Mamdani. Catholics 53% to 33%.
Asians voted for Mamdani in the 60% area, while blacks and Latino’s voted for Mamdani in the mid to high 50%
Women were 50% of the voters in NYC and an astonishing 84% voted for Mamdani.
Historically, women vote overwhelmingly Democrat. Should women be allowed to vote? An online survey showed 70% said no.
Voting shouldn’t be a right. It should be a privilege.
But the (shriek) children!
By your “logic”, surely all Democrats should be denied the vote. Do you support a one-party system?
Well, now we know what the word Democratic, placed in front of Socialism, really means.
Has anyone bothered to ask Mamdani what is a “Democratic Socialist”? It seems to me it means a socialist who comes to power through election rather than violent revolution. But, as V.I. Ulyanov said “The goal of socialism is communism.” Putting it together, a “Democratic Socialist” is someone who wants to come to power through election but whose goal is still communism. And, to such a person, democracy is, as Turkey’s Erdogan said, “like a tram. You ride it to your destination and then get off.” Good luck NYC.
Early in the campaign, Mamdani professed what being a Democratic Socialist meant: I’m a Democratic Socialist and that means that I believe in the dignity of all people…blah blah blah, something to that effect. Of course the illiterates in the crowd cheered. The uneducated, call them stupid, voters didn’t understand how ominous a Mayor Mamdani would be.
“Yes, Mamdani is a Commie. Will the ‘News’ Outlets That Insisted He Wasn’t Apologize Now?” This imagined apology will never happen. This was expertly outlined in Thomas Sowell’s book, The Vision of the Anointed: Self-Congratulation as a Basis for Social Policy (1995). The anointed are the elitists, academics, & news media. They lecture us on how things must be, and how we must live our lives. But when these instructions and solutions turn out to be wrong, the anointed are never there to explain why. They are never held to account. That is why there will be no apologies for Mamdani. NYC deserves what is coming.
“Yes, Mamdani is a Commie. Will the ‘News’ Outlets That Insisted He Wasn’t Apologize Now?”
Put lipstick and a skirt on a pig and the MSM will call it a woman. Moreover, they would call you all kinds of names and threaten to sue you if you call it a pig!
“The Warmth of Collectivism.” Scarier words have never been spoken.
Good article. The media are complicit, as usual, in helping to get the worst Democrat elected to office. Had Mamdani been called out from the start a communist would it have made a difference with the illiterate voters who elected him? Probably not. The task now is for the (conservative) media to stay laser focused on efforts (will there by any?) to stall/prevent/undermine Mamdani’s communist take-over of NYC. Blame the media but focus on what needs to happen now.
We were warned about these Commie Scum before Joe McCarthy warned us and now its time to heed his warnings
The thing that relieves my fears about Mamdani is his mouth is writing checks his a** can’t cash. Taxing “rich, white neighborhoods” more? Blatantly unconstitutional. The courts will throw it out based on the 1964 Civil Rights Act. Seizing private property without market compensation for unnamed broken rules? Unconstitutional. The courts will laugh him out of NYC. Forcing property owners to give the City the right of first refusal for purchase? Once again, illegal under federal law without a compelling interest. Seizing the means of production? Yeah, not gonna happen. NYC may be anti-2nd Amendment, but that doesn’t mean rich property owners are 100% disarmed. Making FIFA tickets “available for all?” That’s ridiculous on its face. A Mayor doesn’t dictate the ticket prices for the World Cup…in New Jersey. 🙄
This guy’s a clown and he’s about to have his face painted for him with embarrassment of how little he understands about his reality. Socialism relies on the suspension of disbelief and New Yorkers are about to get what they voted for good and hard and completely incompetently.

“Individualism holds that man has inalienable rights which cannot be taken away from him by any other man, nor by any number, group or collective of other men. Therefore, each man exists by his own right and for his own sae, not for the sake of the group.
“Collectivism holds that man has no rights; that is work his body and his personality belong to the group; that the group can do with him as it pleases, in any manner it pleases, for the sake of whatever it decides to be its own welfare. Therefore, each man exists only by the permission of the group and for the sake of the group.”

Of course the organs that denied Mamdani is a communist won’t change their tunes. They want what he wants.
The veracity of any poll, Di Bona, is predicated on who conducts it (their integrity and objectives) and who participates (and why). Online polls canvass the world. All cultures (including bastions of inequality such as Saudi Arabia, etc.), and all ages (including teenagers kidding around) can and do respond. There cannot be enough angry, frustrated incels to have produced the 70% majority indicated by the mysterious online poll that you cite.
