“The more I’m around young people, the more panicked I am,” a recent Atlantic article begins. The topic is political extremism.
I’ve done plenty of my own reporting on surveys which shows that, yes Gen Z is much more favorable to Communism and Nazism. They’re the most open to using political violence to shut down opposing points of view, they’re open to killing executives, supporting Hamas and any brand of awful politics.
And I don’t mean to dismiss legitimate concerns about these things, but who else would you expect to have these views?
Young people always have radical views. They embrace radical politics because they have no sense of what works in the real life, because they suffer from political narcissism, toxic empathy, lack of empathy, main character syndrome, epater les bourgeois or a dozen other familiar conditions.
Yes, some young people have horrible views. It comes with their age.
Who was planting bombs in the 20s and 70s? Who made up the strike forces for the Bolsheviks and the Nazis? It wasn’t the senior citizens. The occasional radical elders keep smirking and shouting, “listen to the youth” because they know perfectly that teenagers have a weakened immune system against their terrible ideas.
Does this represent most young people? No. But it’s a population with an elevated susceptibility to political extremism. When society catches a cold, the under 25s have a fever. This can be disguised by peer pressure around socially acceptable politics which channel the radicalism into what is considered into what is considered appropriate behavior. This artificially lowered, for example, antisemitic views in surveys, without necessarily lowering them in real life.
And then they grow up.
Youth radicalism is primarily dangerous when older radicals convince people that they represent the future. Right now there are multiple groups both pro and con trying to make horrible brats, whether it’s Greta Thunberg or Nick Fuentes, into the ‘voice of a generation’. All of this is fake and stupid. Teenagers and these days many twenty-somethings have erratic politics when they have any politics at all. (Mostly they don’t.)
Young people are not the enemy. Nor should they be listened to. They don’t know what they’re talking about. And only weak uncertain people give in to them. The last time we gave in to some unfocused ‘voices of a generation’, the country was turned upside down.
Let’s not make the same mistake again.

Back, in the late 60’s, my dad was very upset. Seems some Ivy League idiots pooped in a deans trash can. What my dad probably never considered was, that the dean was cause of that situation. The dean was probably a Marxist fan boy, or weak ineffectual sort of man.
Geriatric Rob (Meathead) Reiner never changed. He was a real asshole who raised a crazy asshole murderous punk kid. Just listen to this loudmouthed fool express his delusional views – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q6K9LZKfLFk
What happened to Reiner and his wife shouldn’t happen to anyone particularly not at the hands of their son, if he’s guilty. Don’t gloat
Back in the days when they were reading Jonathan Livingston Seagull to now the youth of today read Rules for Radicals and Howl
Young people are radical because they’re brainwashed by the communist education industrial complex, maggot media and pop culture of celebritards and influencers plus peer group pressure, all the later of which are downstream from the communist controlled education system. Watch the BBC documentary Science and the Nazis to see how the Nazis were educated into power. Getting rid of or purging the education system (Prussian Model) in a New Reformation, basically meting out the same punishment that was dealt the Catholic Church in Protestant Reformation should solve this problem.
Public schools turning America’s children into good little socialists.
“The young people think the old people are fools — but the old people know the young people are fools.”
― Agatha Christie
Great quote:-).
That gets down to the resolution of a key issue. The youth is overly influenced by the narratives they have absorbed, rather than having enough real world experience to know better. Like the old trope about fools graduating from colleges not knowing that the theories they have absorbed fail in the real world.
The inexperience and ignorance of youth is precisely why the left so often urges that the voting age be lowered.
They put MAMDANI into office. Now, God save us.
The FBI just caught a bunch of Radicals planning to Bomb the New Years Celebrations the typical leftists Anti-American lowlifes who belong in prison for the rest of their Lives
TO prevent THIS in my hometown, I was put in jail 17 times before retirement…this effectively PREVENTED me from taking possession of a LONG paid off home, and I was “relieved” of around $400k, and never allowed to have banking/insurance/medical accounts.*
THEN, MY court makes the TOP article for theft and white collar crimes at “embezzlement dot com”. That’s MY HOMETOWN court, on the VERY FIRST STORY-FOR a reason…….
*I owned an “indie” recording STUDIO, in the ANALOG era…they tried to use “copyrights” as a reason for a 25 year sentence at Leavenworth (FCC “rules”), when that didn’t work, they went after my college degrees (taken away and ALL of my personal/professional licenses) and everything.
The US feds/demonrats/repugs are EXTREMELY DANGEROUS TO us now.
Choose wisely, aim small.
Most of us were leftists in our teens and early twenties. Then those of us financially responsible for ourselves grew up after experiencing the real world. After witnessing the damage of leftist ideals on the people living them. Those who were dependent appeared to prefer self-inflicted ignorance. Those living in the small false worlds of academia and politics remained uninformed in their arrogance.
Sadly, we have allowed career politicians whose only success in life was winning elections. People who never seceded in the private sector, have no clue how to run a business, some who never even worked outside of the shallow world of politics, to make policies, laws and mandates controlling our private sector and our nation. There are no mandatory criteria of knowledge and experience required to run our nation. We have academic ‘experts’ whose ideas originate in nothing more than theory and ideas, not proven fact and definitely not experience.
To expect what we expect of our government and our educational system is a fairy tale. We can’t have the closed minds, the unexperienced, those whose lives don’t touch ours to have the ability to fulfill our expectations.
Remember the adage: “If you are not a socialist at 20, you have no heart. If you are still a socialist at 40, you have no brain.”
Dear Larry D.: You took the words right off my keyboaed. Another version is “Anyone who does reaches the age of 18 without being a Communist is not a.mensch.”
Greta Dumbbell doesn’t know a cost-benefit analysis from a coffee cup. She thinks she’s ticked off now? Wait and see how she feels if Sweden ever gives in to her demands and starts relying on wind and solar power and the price of electricity skyrockets and she can’t use her hair drier because of the endless brownouts.
