In recent years the gender gap has also increasingly become a political and cultural gap. Now it’s also a religious gap.
Gallup’s latest data, from 2024-2025, show 42% of young men saying religion is very important to them, up sharply from 28% in 2022-2023. By contrast, during this period, young women’s attachment to religion has held steady at about 30%.
With the recent surge in their attachment to religion, young men have returned to the high point of their expressed religiosity of the past 25 years, roughly tying the 43% found in 2000-2001. By contrast, women of all age groups and older men are at or near their historical lows.
Now normally when I look at aberrant polling among the younger generation, I think diversity is often a major overlooked factor, but the case here may not be that simple. It is a reflection of a larger phenomenon and one that runs counter to the usual trend of lower levels of religiosity in the West.
Young women were significantly more attached to religion than young men were at the start of the millennium, leading by nine percentage points (52% vs. 43%) in calling religion “very important” in their lives. That gap widened to as much as 16 points in the early to mid-2000s before steadily narrowing over the next decade.
The bad news there is that ‘political spirituality’ largely took the role of religion for a lot of young women, but is proving to be quite unsatisfying for young men. Modern woke politics has little to offer young men.
The religious gender gap also has serious political implications.
Since 2022-2023, attendance has risen seven points among young Republican men, eight points among young Republican women and three points among young Democratic men. Only young Democratic women show little change.
Which is also why we see growing shifts among young men politically even as young women continue moving leftwards.

At the crux of this issue is feminism and how it has warped their thinking.
Young women are also becoming more religious, it’s just that they are going all in for the cults of DEI and globull warming.
Worse yet, they think they’re the equal of a man and say they don’t need a man–until they need a man. The majority of women like that wind up in their 50s alone with 2 cats, a dog and drinking several glasses of wine at night while regretting the choices they made in life and crying themselves to sleep every night.
Then they have an epiphanous moment when they realize that men get better with age and it’s just the opposite for women. That’s when the anger flares into a rage and tears flow like a tsunami.
Fortunately, there’s hope for the future as more and more younger women see what feminism has wrought and are beginning to reject it.
Brutal, yet they redirect their anger toward the women that didn’t make the same mistake and the men they wish they could have made a life with.
The damage has already been done by feminism and men no longer see women as the objects of affection, love or lifetime marriage. Telling a man that a woman is his equal was designed to make men feel like homosexuals because no normal man wants to marry another man or a woman who thinks she is equal to a man. But it was forced by society, employers and government with no opportunity to even speak out about it until the entire generation realized it was too late to fix the problem. War and the draft also figure into this issue because just like the men who were sent to die on the beaches of Normandy and Iwo, the government is getting ready to genocide this generation of males as well. This leaves a generation of remaining females who are steeped in feminism and carrying every kind of venereal disease imaginable to the remaining males. Either way, it destroys the generation.
So I’m not as optimistic about the situation as you are, even if every one of those diseased females decides to stay at home and bake cookies.
Interesting. Thanks Daniel !!!!!!!
On the contrary, young women are more religious than ever—but the religion they follow is woke politics.
Christianity as a sociological phenomenon is all over the news these days. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth was fact- checked by atheists about a Bible reference he made in a public prayer. Could this be a signal of an impending religious revival? While “woke” Democ-rats are fact-checking Bible verses, I suggest that they fact-check this one: “Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: and likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient” (Romans 1:24-28).
Every atheist I’ve met is extremely hostile toward Christianity and goes out of their way to mock and ridicule Christians at every opportunity. Not only do they have an intense disdain for Christian people, but they have an intense hatred of God and Jesus Christ. It seems odd to feel such intense emotion for something you claim does not exist. This proves the case that there are indeed spiritual forces at work, and there is no such thing as an unbeliever. Everybody believes in something and lives their life with God or with something else.
Maybe those people argue with such intensity, not only to show they are right, but in an attempt to justify their belief to themselves.
I have a sneaking suspension every Atheist fears, they might just be wrong.
No one is an Atheist on their deathbed…
There are/were prominent atheists, like Christopher Hitchens and Ayn Rand, who cleverly smuggle into their presentations (re religion) passionate invective, denunciations, and ad hominem attacks as effective substitutes for actual ideas. Their “authority” is more emotional than intellectual, however fascinating they may be to listen to, in terms of “style.”
Religion punishes women and rewards men.
Which religion are you talking about. The religions of witchcraft, wokeism, atheism and humanism all glorify women while mocking and putting down men.
This is a very ill omen; a sociological biomarker.
There’s one group of Americans wherein this exact process has now just about run its course and the terminus is collapse of 80% of that group.
I’d suggest real Americans, or at least Christian’s, take a hard look at Orthodox Jews or Amish or read, “The Benedict Option” and prepare accordingly. That or be prepared to fight to win.
