Gov. Newsom, who chickened out of challenging either Biden or Kamala, but still dreams of 2028, tried to make headlines by announcing a special legislative session to lead the anti-Trump resistance.
The dubiously legal session amounted to a request for more money, $25 million, to mount some sort of opposition, most likely lawfare, but at the moment the administration’s plans are underwhelming.
California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s administration is drafting a potential plan to help undocumented immigrants who may be threatened by incoming President Donald Trump’s mass deportation threats, including resources to find legal aid.
A draft of the plan obtained by POLITICO and titled “Immigrant Support Network Concept” proposes the “creation of an Immigrant Support Network comprised of regional ‘hubs’ to connect at-risk individuals, their families, and communities with community systems — such as legal services, schools, labor unions, local governments, etc.”
The draft is sparse on details and notes that the plans are still under review, but it says the hubs could provide referrals to service providers, share “critical” information and collect details about community needs in order to coordinate policies statewide.
These networks already exist and California would just coordinate the flow of money better to its activist networks. Government financing of leftist groups is at the heart of their political dominance of California (and some other lefty states and cities) so this isn’t a nothing, but it’s also rather underwhelming.
Part of the problem is that California has already done about as much as possible to block immigration enforcement, including threatening any law enforcement officer who cooperates with federal authorities, and providing endless subsidies and benefits for illegals.
What more is there really beyond the inevitable lawsuits?
If Trump actually goes ahead, federalizes the National Guard and starts carrying out raids on the locations of known felons, the so-called Immigrant Support Network is supposed to link up the illegal criminals with legal help. But the infrastructure for this already exists. Newsom will just want the credit for it.
Governor Nuisance is going to make History as just another liberal/Globalists just like Obama and Biden him and his ilk are all part of UN/CFR/Global Government More reasons for his Removal from Office
He’s done. We Californians hate Newscum and he wasn’t elected. He Bidened his way into office.
He doesn’t have a chance of being reelected in California, much less nationally. If I ever saw him I would piss right in his mealy mouth.
I live up here in Siskiyou County were a Red County in a Blue State Etna in Scott Valley in Siskiyou County and our Main Industry is Agriculture and we don’t want Gates Schwabe or Soros taking away our Jobs
Yes, all those Eastern California counties are totally normal.
Unlike these coastal counties.
“Gavin Nuisance.” I like it!
THE LAWS AND THE BORDERS simply do not apply to the Globalist Democrat Party.
Soros won’t have it!
CA has the largest La Raza welfare state in the world. More coming along with voter registration cards!
And instant driver’s licenses, even though none of those wet backs has ever driven a car in Mexico, much less owned one.
Yeah, those networks already exist, but they are somewhat “underground” (publicized in languages other than English) in places non-immigrants rarely go to.
Illegal immigration (and abortion) are the never ending sick obsessions of the Democrats. It will ultimately destroy the party.
Can’t wait.
Does all this mean we’re going to have another civil war? Another whiskey rebellion?
