Every other day the media rolls out another entry about the economic benefits of open borders and mass migration. And every time they do that it just shows how incidental the benefits are to the losses.
IRS to Lose Billions in Revenue If Migrants Stop Filing Taxes – Bloomberg
The Internal Revenue Service is projected to lose more than $313 billion in revenue in the coming decade as undocumented workers are poised to pay fewer taxes after the agency struck a deal to share data with US immigration authorities.
The IRS is expected to lose $12 billion in revenue for the remainder of the fiscal year ending Sept. 30, according to a report out Tuesday by the Yale Budget Lab. The group estimates unauthorized workers paid about $66 billion in federal taxes in fiscal year 2023, with about two-thirds of that coming from payroll levies.
Let’s assume those figures are even correct. The estimated cost of illegal aliens for 2023 was over $150 billion. Some estimates place the figures even higher and others lower. The FAIR numbers estimated the tax payments at $31 billion in which case it would be a matter of 5X. But let’s compromise at 3X.
What this hammers home yet again is that whatever financial benefits we get from open borders is more than offset by our losses.
The losses are not simply financial there is a cultural loss also as the well as the hostile demography changes that are apparent across the US. This is a depressing pattern repeated across Western Europe also.

No doubt. All those extra services they require, police, fire, cleanup are a huge expense, plus whatever other costs are involved. I guesstimate it costs $100 an hour for police officers, as an example.
Most of those lost taxes will be offset by currently unemployed citizens going off welfare (a tax savings) and taking those newly freed up jobs currently filled by illegal aliens and paying taxes on the their new earned income. It is not like the job is going to go away if their is no illegal alien to fill it. This is a triple win. We get rid of the illegal alien and the associated costs and we reduce welfare costs from unemployed able bodied citizens and we don’t lose any tax dollars because the taxes not paid by the illegal are paid by the formerly unemployed citizen.

How does a family put a “cost” on the loss of a family member who gets killed, permanently disabled, or injured by an illegal alien? Compared to an American child losing one or both parents to illegal alien crime (or DUI accidents), the $130 billion national cost is nothing at all.
