In my post last night, I noted the implausibility of Mamdani’s election numbers compared to his polling in which he performed poorly with
- anyone over 50
- Black people and Latinos
- women
- the working class
I said the results either reflected low turnout or tinkering. Probably both.
Well the low turnout has been confirmed. Less than 30% of Democrats voted in the party’s mayoral primary. Of those 43% supposedly voted for Mamdani. (Ranked choice voting also makes this whole thing more complicated, but I’m keeping it simple.)
As I note in my upcoming article, “56% of registered voters in the city are Democrats so some 7.2% of city residents voted for him. New York City has a population of 8.2 million. Of those 432,305 or 5% voted for Mamdani.”
You can go with the 7% figure which represents voters, but either way this is far from the massive sweep of the city that the media is hyping.
Most New Yorkers didn’t vote for Mamdani. Even most Democrats stayed home.
That says a lot about the state of the democrat party. They are largely unpopular right now.. The onus is on republicans and independents to take advantage of this situation and render the democrat party an irrelevant fringe party.
Nevertheless, elections have consequences.
There are sins of commission and sins of omission. Not voting has consequences too.
I keep saying that the funniest thing that could happen is that the silent majority of New Yorkers are fed up with the commie nonsense and they end up electing Curtis Sliwa as Mayor (although with Eric Adams running as an independent that may split the non-leftist vote).
I pray Curtis will win, he knows NYC better than any of them and loves it. He will bring it back to what it was before the DEMRATS TOOK IT OVER. He is a true American. Trouble is he will get no financing from the RNC or help with ground work etc. The Rinos will be sure he loses as they do most new candidates trying to take out one of the old RINOS who are on the dole big time. They protect the crooks in the party and will never support a newcomer. And the voters, brain dead as they are just keep voting the same old, old, on the dole crooks back in.,
It could be that they gamed ranked choice. My head hurts thinking about it.
the JTA also reports him as antisemite. So Jews don’t like him either.
Lousy turn out doesn’t matter. Odd demographics doesn’t matter either. What matters is the final tally.
Now the good citizens of NYC are going to find out what kind of P.O.S. “Who’s Your Mamdaddy” really is.
Progressives are a special kind of stupid is.
WHY do so few New Yorkers bother to vote?
The Zionist are still in control.
